After we waited in line for over 40 minutes and the bouncer (if you can call her that) was with us several times, she suddenly didn't have a good feeling when it was our turn. Why? No idea. Her other bouncer colleague (if you can call him that) then confirmed it. So we couldn't get in. If we had been told this from the start: OK! But not like that! The arrogance is simply limitless. Hopefully this discriminatory behavior will result in poor returns. It would be desirable for these...

The sound system and atmosphere were excellent. It's quite uncommon to come across a club with such high-quality sound. I attended a downtempo party, and the overall vibe was absolutely perfect.

Yesterday I was in the Kauz for the third and last time. At 12:00 there was no more room in the cloakroom (the door opened at 10:20 p.m.) With so many people, it quickly became very uncomfortable on the dance floor, much too narrow and yet more and more people came, at 12:30 it was probably like the street parade on the Quai Bridge😱 Unfortunately it had already happened three times when I was there. Waiting time for the toilet was about 30 minutes 🥴 On the ground floor, on the small second floor near the cloakroom, disco music from the 80s/90s was playing 🙈 We left the club at 1 a.m....at least we were able to free up two seats in the cloakroom 😅 There were probably at least 70 people waiting in line outside. For me it's a no-go if the club is already bursting at the seams to allow more people in! Some of them probably stood outside with their feet flat in vain. The bar staff is great, good drinks, fair prices. The room is nicely decorated, a friendly atmosphere would be possible, but if you don't have room for any small movement, the fun goes away and the dance feeling is zero. The sound was deep and slow, with a few good highlights.

Free entry between Fr-Sa / 9-11pm. As name suggests, house-oriented mostly. Compact but within reason—there's a place for a mostly 30+ crowd to express itself. Though in my experience to get to something even remotely danceable you'd have to wait 'till midnight. With all its pros and cons, used to be my occasional go-to within those 2 days before the covid hit.

I'd like to address the issue of discriminatory policies at this club. A friend of mine, who had visited the place previously, recommended that we go there because an interesting performer was scheduled to perform. Upon checking the event poster, we noticed a lineup and a brief description, with the only requirement being that attendees must be over 21 years old (we both exceeded this age limit). However, when we arrived at the club, the bouncers began to interrogate us with questions about our prior visits, when we had been there, how we had heard about it, and whether we were familiar with their "awareness concept." We answered affirmatively, explaining that my friend had been a frequent visitor, and we were well-versed in their "concept," which essentially amounted to basic etiquette that any reasonable person should possess. We also emphasized that we were two sober, respectful individuals who had come solely to enjoy an intriguing artist's performance. Despite our responses, we were denied entry without any explanation. When we asked about the reason for this refusal, we were met with rudeness and told that they were selectively allowing entry and didn't intend to engage in a lengthy discussion with us. I'd like to highlight that I am firmly convinced that in such situations, the responsibility invariably falls on the club's management. If you, as club organizers, have specific preferences regarding your event's audience, it is your duty to clearly outline these requirements on the poster. This way, potential attendees can assess whether the event aligns with their preferences. If not, they can make informed decisions, ensuring they don't waste their Friday night, considering the plethora of other clubs in Zurich, each with its unique themes and concepts. For instance, you could specify if you expect a particular dress code or a preference for the local hipster crowd. However, in reality, promoters often fail to provide such clarity. The only requirement listed on the poster is being over 21, yet the bouncers seem to evaluate attendees solely based on their look, a practice that defies the club's "awareness concept" centered on tolerance and the absence of discrimination. If you meet all the requirements from the poster, such as being over 21, and are still denied entry based on subjective visual assessments, the only discernible criteria are your look, outfit, age, nationality, and the perceived social or cultural background derived from these factors. And here it seems the club's stuff are not quite close to their own "concept of awareness", because this is typical discrimination Regrettably, our evening was marred by the discourteous and unwelcoming staff, who also appeared to lack an adequate understanding of their own "concept".

Cosy place with nice decoration, good sound (speakers spread around the ceiling so you can hear the music well everywhere) friendly staff and a great bar! Rather a mature audience (average age ~40). On the night we went, too many people were allowed in for such a small place in my opinion, barely possible to breathe, let alone dance. Drunk and ignorant crowd not respecting personal space and constantly pushing us or rubbing themselves against us, making us feel rather anxious. After politely asking them to stop, getting a rude response. The club does have signs asking visitors to avoid such behaviour, however I see it cannot be enforced when the place is so full. A lot of people standing still on the dancefloor just chatting. My conclusion: Good for older people looking to chill with friends in a familial atmosphere with great drinks and smooth sound. Not for young ravers and if the dancing experience is your main priority. Disclaimer: My rating is based on one night and largely influenced by the crowd making us uncomfortable, the club itself has a lot of potential. Shall we decide to go again, I'll update.

Great club, friendly bouncers and service at the bar. Unfortunately very small and therefore long waiting times at the entrance. But it's worth it. Unfortunately no photos were taken.

The place can be described as relaxed, open, contemporary and cool, but the great arrogance of the bouncers is incomprehensible to me and is therefore reflected in the rating. Why? I was there before 11 p.m. and didn't get a stamp. At around 2 a.m. I wanted to get some fresh air. I knew that I might not be allowed in without a stamp and wanted to ask the bouncers before leaving the inner area if this was a problem. I ran straight up the stairs to you, who were sitting in front of the entrance. They were engaged in a conversation with each other and, out of decency, I waited in front of them for about a minute until they gave me a look. Then they told me very harshly that they thought I hadn't come from the inside and that I now had to pay an entrance fee if I wanted to come in. Mind you, it was October, cold and I was standing outside without a jacket, just the three of us. I tried to explain to you with respect, composure and understanding what was going on but only met with spiritual granite. It was like asking the price of an unmarked product in a store and then being accused of stealing it out of the blue. Then I showed you a picture that I happened to take with a person I met there. Then they believed me and let me back in knowing that it was forbidden to take photos in their hipster club. I knew that, and I don't think much of this kindergarten-glue-it-in-front-of-your-smartphone-woe-you-take-a-picture-here-it's-so-cool-no-one-is-allowed-to-see antics. We're all adults, and the kids are run of the mill, even if they don't believe it themselves. They obviously don't really need to make an effort. It's a shame that decency, respect and friendliness don't count for much here if you're not in the circle. Other: The sound system is below average, lighting effects too, the bar is a plus.

The Kauz is located close to the Zurich bus station. If you come a little earlier you don't have to pay entrance fee. November 2nd everything was decorated with fruit and the motto was: Japanese tea ceremony Oshibori towels were handed out at the entrance. The ceremony is an own interpretation by the artist with different soundtracks and spoken texts. Good beats after the tea ceremony, audience rather reserved. Despite the warm red light lighting, there is no mood. But it's not just the club, I think it's the people. Conclusion If you want to see something different, the Kauz is the right place for you. 4 Google stars from me! The bar staff are very friendly.

The front staff left our group with a very weak impression. It's one thing to refuse us entry, which may well be justified given appropriate justification, but we were refused entry, which we found to be very weak. Of course, it is clear to us that not everyone will be allowed in, but in our opinion it would be appropriate to clearly communicate the reason why this would not be possible. We were initially told we would "probably not" come in. Our request for more detailed information about this was coldly refused on the grounds: "I don't have to explain anything to you." This is of course their right, but it is extremely unprofessional and, to a certain extent, indecent. We will avoid the oddball in the future, unless the staff is taught a certain sensitivity in such matters.

This Nightclub is still a bit of an insider and definitively one of the best clubs in Zürich (if not the best at the moment). A rather small very good furnished place where you meet happy, friendly and particular people. You can listen and dance to some good music and the bartender gives their best to serve your drinks as fast as possible (you will need to be a bit patience if you order when there is rush our). A key moment was when I was leaving last weekend and they gave me back my iPhone without that I even knew that I have lost it :). Thank you again 1000 times!!! I can absolutely not confirm Jonathan Dana's comment that the owner or anybody else behaved aggressively in this club. I hope they will keep it as it is and wish everybody a good stay in this club!
