Konditorei Café Ernst Hotz AG in Schwerzenbach

For a mineral water from a PET bottle that is consumed in the store, which costs 3.50 chf to take away, the company Hotz charges an impressive 5 francs, with the reason being VAT... 7.7% is this VAT... dear company Hotz, that's what you allow yourself It's not fair... you should at least pass on such conditions to customers immediately... sad

Lovely cafe and bakery. I especially enjoyed the Birchermüesli. Free wifi available.

Very friendly service today, otherwise there will be no need for another visit. The unfriendly staff standing here at the counter will not allow any further visits in the future.

I find it really cheeky, I've been standing in line for 10 minutes then a lady comes from behind and she is served immediately without waiting in line because she knows the saleswoman and this is now happening for the second time

It should be a bit cozy, otherwise everything is as you would like it to be in a bakery coffee shop.

The unfriendly service could spoil your enjoyment of Hotz's excellent baked goods. The bad-tempered service ladies urgently need in-depth training. A very unkempt Mrs. Kundert, with scabies on her face, stands out in a particularly negative way. Apparently she didn't understand that the customers paid her salary. I would like to emphasize that I have been buying cakes and pastries from Hotz every week for years and am actually thrilled with what the bakery has to offer.

I have been a regular customer of this bakery for many years. And yet I'm not satisfied. I only go regularly because it's right around the corner. Once I was seriously denied a discount of 5 centimes on a purchase of almost 50 francs! In response, I wrote a letter to my superiors. The only thing that came back was a written apology, stating: "This is a matter of discretion on the part of the seller." Another time a saleswoman yelled at me because I supposedly didn't say hello (which I always do as soon as I enter the store - she simply didn't hear it and then didn't even apologize for her baseless accusation and her rudeness). A few years ago, the 50% discount promotion in the evenings was abolished without comment. There are no benefits or incentives at all for repeat customers. There have generally been hardly any changes to the range over the years. And the solid, but by no means outstanding quality of the products hardly justifies the rather high prices. I would much rather go to the “Sprüngli”. The prices there are even higher. Quality, service and innovation are always absolutely top. The Hotz urgently needs an all-round renovation. The service was very unfriendly and impatient early in the morning and would have understood if it was heading towards the evening, they were still talking about the VAT. instructed as if that would interest me as a customer. The customer is definitely not king with this company. Training in how to deal with customers would probably be a good investment.

Very fine baked goods, also special, friendly staff, makes a great impression! But unfortunately the opening times are not ideal for a bakery... Although very customer-friendly on weekdays, not at all on the weekends; Closed early on Saturday afternoon (because the Chimlimärt in the same building is open until 7.30 p.m. on Saturdays) and quite tragically: closed on Sundays!?! Exactly when you need fresh bread. If you want it, you can't get it around the corner, you have to drive to a gas station (let's not even talk about the quality there). Most bakeries I know are closed on Mondays, which makes sense. So being open on Sundays until 11 a.m. is a must in my opinion. It would be nice if this changed for the sake of customers! (This bakery would have really earned the fifth star rating).
