Simply very, very nice ambience and nice service. The hazelnut pattiserie was simply to die for. We recommend. I'd love to come back and forget about my time there and keep trying things out.

It's always nice to take a little break in my favorite place. In the summer, I like to go outside with the dog with a homemade ice cream.

I often eat breakfast here or just stop by for a coffee. Very nice staff, especially Fritz, who always stands out with his positive and friendly manner! The products, from the rolls to the sandwiches to the sweet delicacies, are also completely convincing.

The unfriendly shift manager's behavior ensures that people avoid this Hotz branch. Experienced it several times... you feel unwelcome every time the LADY is there... it's a shame

Friendly service, particularly with little ones ( colouring books and pencils available) and a lovely selection of baked goods. Coffee is good, there is a nice selection of teas and they also do a Prosecco Apero too! No stairs so useful with buggies and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Recommend.

Last Saturday I went to the Hotz branch in Uster for coffee with my daughter. The rooms are very modern and chic. All the staff present was super friendly and accommodating! The branch manager in particular, Mr. Meier, took great care to ensure that everything fit! The cappuccino and cakes were delicious! This branch is always recommended for a cozy and delicious coffee break! Gladly again! 😃

I had an appointment with my girlfriend for breakfast. We decided on the Hotz Café in Uster. According to the sign right at the entrance, it is even marked with a luminous pen that you will be served at the table. That worked well at the beginning. After the breakfast menu we had a “Glüschtli” dessert with fruit juice. The lady who served us earlier ran in all directions, except towards us, or preferred to talk to her colleagues behind the counter. We are fundamentally patient. But then it took quite a while until she came. We were just able to order the juice and she sped off again. I was just able to order some water... but there wasn't enough for dessert. I thought I'd try again when she brought the juice. She put the drinks down and was about to leave again when I asked briefly, "We'd like something small..." and she immediately replied, "Nooo." and ran away. At first we thought it was difficult. In fact, she didn't come anymore. A little irritated, we decided to leave. We are still a bit confused, especially since we thought we were kind and patient. But who knows what exactly was going on. Basically, the restaurant was moderately busy and it didn't seem like there were too few employees and you should have been stressed because of it. In any case, when we meet again, we will go straight to the Hausamann Café. Actually, it's a shame. The Hotz Café is beautifully designed and very inviting and the rest of the team has always been friendly. But this was so unpleasant that we would rather avoid it in the future.

Despite the short opening time on a Sunday, an outdoor table was prepared for us. That was very friendly. They could also have said that they wouldn't do that for a short period of time. Thanks.

Difficult to give an adequate rating. Food/bakery, snacks, sweets and drinks (coffee, tea) everything fine to almost very good. Staff is below anything you might expect and over a long period of time now. Staff is rude, snippy, unfriendly (applies to serving staff, not counter staff)... Totally not understandable giving the athmosphere, the place and the target guests that were supposed to go there. Pls improve.

Shortly before 9 a.m. asked if there were any cream slices. A young, friendly employee says she needs to get something from behind. The unsympathetic boss said I should come later, she didn't have time to get them now. There were 4 guests in the café, the shop was empty. Never again

Coffee was OK, BUT a cappuccino with extra espresso cost 10.70! Cappuccino for 5.70 and 5.- for the additional shot.. in contrast, a double espresso costs 6.70.. staff was quite unfriendly and unreasonable.. pricing model needs to be reconsidered..

Very unfriendly staff. I ordered a cold Ovaltine and found out that I had a hair in the drink, it's not tragic, it can happen but the lady didn't apologize for the incident, she took the drink away and just gave me a new one without comment, that's a NO GO! I work in service myself, it's a shame that you're not properly greeted in the morning and don't get decent service and all that in a coffee!

I like to go to Café Hotz, Uster, often. The quality of the products is excellent, the service is always attentive and friendly and the Birchermüesli is an absolute hit.

My experience with the cafe has always been positive. Everyone was nice. I don't really understand all the negative reviews.

Neat and clean. The staff is mostly really nice and friendly. However, the shift manager is a disaster. Harsh, unfriendly. For each statement, ask again, for example: "What was that" instead of like please, you order, but she always does something different, putting the rack away or cleaning something instead of serving customers. You have the feeling of being served by a sergeant in a German barracks! I've gotten to the point where I don't go to the branch when the good lady is there. In the other Hotz branches, e.g. Schwerzenbach, you don't have this feeling at all!

Coffee too expensive for my standards

While I was walking into the Uster branch, one of the employees ran into me without apologizing. She went outside to serve other customers. I think it's an impertinence to push someone and not apologize. I ran away straight away afterwards and will never shop there again.

The Birchermüesli and the latte macchiato were delicious. I think the difference between consuming something in a cafe versus taking it away is enormous. Birchermüesli, for example, costs 5 CHF more in a coffee shop than to take away. That's almost double.

The food is, as always, excellent and the staff (again for a few months) are totally friendly and fine :) What's amazing and unbelievable is that there is no roll/slice of bread with the salad - you have to order this separately and pay CHF 1.50 for a 1.5cm slice of bread - and that in a bakery! Crazy...🙈

Unfriendly staff. We bought 2 sandwiches and 2 loaves for lunch today and wanted to sit outside. We were rudely sent away. They said it costs more if you want to sit down. So we went. We later saw that one of the shoes was the wrong one and asked if it could be replaced. They did that too. And they rudely pointed out again that you weren't allowed to eat it here. Bad first impression. Wouldn't recommend it.

Saturday, December 5, 2020/11 a.m The coffee cellar and the bakery employee were very, very unfriendly. After waiting in line at the door and then in the store, I went to a free table when it was my turn. The waiter loudly yelled at me about what I was doing here and rudely pointed out to me that it was reserved. However, there was no sign saying it was reserved. Again, I waited for some time until something became available. The bakery employee could also learn something new when it comes to politeness. She had also made it clear to me in a harsh way that everything was occupied. I have never been so temperate by service staff as I was here. Sorry, but I will never enter this pastry shop again.

Very unfriendly staff that doesn't work at all. We were having a drink with a friend and with our small children, who are both 1 year old. We had a small pack of rice cakes on the table for the little ones. The waiter came and said they were chips and had to be taken away from the table and we said so are rice cakes for the little ones, they're not chips and he kept claiming and also said we have enough things for children to eat (I certainly don't give my child that much sugar) such a person wouldn't even have to work there. You don't have to start by snapping at people and saying things that aren't true. You can ask politely and not yell at people. This café was the first and last time I saw such unfriendly staff, a disaster that doesn't even deserve a star.

A completely normal coffee. Service a bit inattentive. The food is good, but not outstanding. The homemade iced tea was refreshing, but fell a bit short compared to others. But I will come again because the coffee has a nice atmosphere

Food was OK. But waitress chased us away. Literally: packed our food but didn't ask if we wanted to eat on site. Then we sat down. Were sent out due to operational errors. Impudence! Not the first time that the service isn't entirely friendly. Another example: The waitress gave out too much change. I've already put the money in my wallet. The waitress noticed the error and rudely asked for the money back. Impudence!!! LG three lost customers.

Price performance is not OK. The restaurant is otherwise very nice.

We arrived and ordered 2 hot chocolates from the younger lady who was quite pleasann. The "Hot Chocolates" arrived lukewarm and when we told them it was lukewarm, instead of hospitality; we received a "It's impossible, we made them hot" from the older lady on duty and kept denying any possibility of it or taking any hospitable approach. Point is, we drank them because we could see they were understaffed, and shared the feedback after payment was processed; we weren't looking for a freebie or anything, just feedback for reference. Appalling service, not impressed at all. Definitely not worth visiting again.

The cafe landscape in Uster is finally being or has been expanded. Pleasant atmosphere, it is quiet and usually not overcrowded. In my opinion, the offerings are varied and appealing. But I would also be happy if there were more dry varieties of sweet pastries... such as nut corners, etc. The conditions are always friendly

I enjoyed a super fine pretzel croissant with egg and bacon and drank fresh orange juice with it. In 1 dl of juice there were 8 orange seeds... but it was fresh. Upper price limit.
