KostBar Sennhof in Chur

Very nice restaurant that I came across by chance. (Booked an overnight stay in the adjacent hostel.) A feel-good place with nice people and delicious drinks. (The food is probably just as delicious (-;)

We had an incredibly great evening! Thank you very much for this incredibly attentive, friendly and uncomplicated service - which even revealed one or two well-kept kitchen secrets :) Great food, great service, I'll be back!

Dinner at Kostbar adjoining Bogentrakt was a delight, with warm, enthusiastic servers and perfectly executed modern-traditional options. I enjoyed a delicious goulash with local beef, impeccably tender-crunchy and savory veggies over fresh pureed potatoes. Chocolate-chile/plumb sorbets for dessert. (These are two different sorbets, but for the historical record, they were extremely f’ing delicious together.) Also, when you have drunk and eaten without serious restraint, you can stumble conveniently back to the comfortable prison cell where you may very well belong. PS, if you have been in the market for fine lighting design fixtures, the ceiling at this place may rivet your attention.

Some people here don't seem to be aware that quality has its price. Pathetic. All I can say is: The KostBar is absolutely recommended – across the board. If you want to eat cheaply (cheap can certainly have an ambiguous meaning), you can do so in countless other restaurants in Chur. Don't compare apples with oranges, varrecktizaina.

The Kostbar bar in Chur, formerly the Sennhof prison, impresses with a unique ambience. The clever transformation of the former prison creates a fascinating backdrop. The creative concept, coupled with excellent drinks, makes this place a highlight. The mix of history and modern flair gives the precious a special charm. An unforgettable experience for guests looking for an original location.

Service staff is very accommodating. Vegetarian lunch menu with starter (smoothie, beetroot soup, green leaf salad, fresh bread á discretion) and dessert (regional natural yoghurt, cake and fruit á discretion) as well as water with lemon and various types of syrup for 21 CHF. Sensational!!! Meat menu for 28 CHF. Food very well prepared and great taste!😊 We'll be happy to come back!

Disappointing experience with inflated prices Although the restaurant impressed with its concept, the cuisine was disappointing with bland dishes at excessive prices. The tasteless starter for 19.- was particularly disappointing, underlining the disproportion between price and quality. Improvements in taste quality and more balanced pricing are urgently needed. The staff was also unfriendly.

Very nice concept with bland cuisine, overpriced food and unfriendly staff. Price/performance is not right: Bland food is offered at Zurich prices. You sometimes pay for supplements separately. We didn't order a side dish and we were still served one and charged for it. The staff wasn't friendly, for example they rolled their eyes when asked a question.

The prison restaurant “Hotel” fits beautifully into the entire building ensemble. The food was super tasty and the staff was very nice. The selection is too small and exactly the daily recommendation is the most expensive. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right. Rather overpriced and the bill was also wrong. Be sure to check.

Great aperitif bar for fluffy summer evenings in the middle of the old town. If you're hungry, you'll also find fine food, it has good wines and a friendly staff. The prison spirit only blows faintly in the courtyard, it's easy to relax.

The KostBar serves delicious food, has a nice urban atmosphere and the employees are very friendly and accommodating 😍. By the way, the lunch menu follows a cool concept and is extremely inexpensive!

The Kostbar offers very good food for everyone. The best cocktails in the city of Chur and the ambience is great. How great is it when you can enjoy your meal and cocktail in a former prison with hundreds of lamps. No words, only recommended.

I had dinner here with my two friends and it was really a pleasure. The menu is small but nice and also has a selection of various special drinks, which I always find very exciting. The food was very nicely prepared and also very tasty. It also has some vegan menus on the menu, so all tastes are covered. They also attach great importance to products from the region. All around a very hip place with a cool outdoor terrace for the summer. I will definitely come again! :)

Great service and very interesting, beautifully presented and delicious food. Great what was made of the former prison. We will definitely be here again on our next visit to Chur.

We were there with a larger group and everyone was thrilled. Friendly staff, delicious food and a creative concept with great attention to detail. The noise level was a bit high at times, but that's the only downer and certainly not worth deducting. We'll definitely be back!

Something like that was missing in Chur. The food (the shiitake mushrooms were terrific), the service, and the ambience are great. Gladly again.

The newly opened “Kostbar” fits wonderfully into the young, hip culinary cosmos of Chur. Both hosts and the entire team are warm, relaxed and exude a very pleasant vibe. The kitchen team surprises with seasonal, regional products. Tip: Always ask for the daily recommendation. Otherwise we would have missed out on the excellent flank steak with sweet potato puree. A big movie theater! The “Kostbar” will hopefully be the new meeting place for young and old in Chur. Whether for feasting or “just” for a glass of wine. You feel at home here. Thank you very much for a pleasant evening and we'll definitely see you soon.

Great place to absolutely visit when visiting Chur!

Very uncomplicated, friendly atmosphere and imaginative food!

Great location, here you can find young and older, Chur flair, many speak this special language or dialect ;-) simply friendly. I'm happy with my Apero Spritz but the food is somehow just great and delicious. I love trying out everything, even what I don't really want like the pleosmasmischme (can you say that ;-)) But vegan meat is somehow delicious. I always enjoy going to the Sennhof!

We had a wonderful and super special meal yesterday...the furnishings were beautiful and something different...unfortunately the noise level is too high...not from the guests...a few fabric carpets would certainly dampen it...could keep us quiet Table hardly entertained.....the only minus at this place

Very cool decor, syphilitic service, beautifully prepared food... everything was wonderful. Unfortunately too loud! The room is too noisy. But we'll come again anyway!
