I only got a latte macchiato, do NOT recommend. It has basically no coffee in it. I know latte macchiatos are a lot of milk with an espresso, but literally this tasted like just milk. If you ask for a doppio, it's 10.50 for the coffee. Everywhere else in basel you just pay 1 more franc for a doppio. The atmosphere is good, the interior design is cool, the service pretty good. But I can't get over that coffee. I recommend Finkmüller instead.

great wooden furnishings, nice atmosphere

Visually an eye-catcher & has a great atmosphere. Mixed audience from families to students and young people to serious wine connoisseurs and comfortable pensioners. Super fine drinks (the plums/tarragon & the Ingy Spritz are highly recommended!). I love the colorful & delicious rolls. Next time I'd like to try the soup because it looked so delicious and smelled so good at the next table. The staff is hard-working and very hard-working and always has a friendly smile on their faces, even in hectic times. Great place! Certainly also great for celebrating a birthday.

The tucked away restaurant in the old town centre is a perfect apero/dinner spot! The wooden interior is beyond charming and while the menu might seem small, it is very well thought out and the dishes packed with flavour. As a vegan I had no issues, the roasted veg with a yoghurt tarragon sauce were incredible and my friend enjoyed the mushroom dumplings. A must visit!

One of my new favorite restaurants in Basel. Nice location with roof terrace and outside seating. The food is very good! There is a changing dish every day, as well as other fixed menus. The staff is very nice. It's worth visiting here at any time of day, from a morning espresso to lunch to a drink in the evening!

Unfortunately I can't give half stars, otherwise KUNI & GUNDE would only get half a star. Salt is stingy as if we were living in the 20th century. The food didn't taste like anything, it's watery!!! HOW can you cook a Rösti watery?!? And hash browns on a sandwich, what’s that? It feels like they only added half a teaspoon of mayonnaise to the egg roll. It was terrible. Never do this to yourself. Trust me. And all for 10 francs per roll! Usury!!!

Really nice and stylish place! Since I only had a coffee, I can't comment on the food, but the ambience is great. Perfect place to rest after a walk through the city! The roof terrace is also particularly cozy!

After a crazy day of vacation in/around Basel with a visit to museums etc. we came across “Kuni&Gunde” by chance and were immediately attracted by the “content and look”... and had a delicious and fun evening. Not only the location à la Holzdesign, but above all the really friendly and attentive staff definitely convinced us - we don't need to talk about the food... simply soul food... and drinks ;-). Tobi warmly welcomed us ("Sali") with his very friendly and courteous manner. The drinks and food were excellent.

Consistently good. The sandwiches are good. Cauliflower with potatoes is even better. Dessert also good. I was only disappointed by the beer selection after reading about craft beer on the website.

Super cool, cozy and, above all, family-run restaurant. There are super delicious rolls and food with regional products but also tasty and innovative cocktails. Nice roof terrace and generally stylish interior. Good sound at the bar :) Prices are a bit on the upper limit, but understandable given the current rental prices and the location. Can highly recommend the visit! :)

Very nice and quick service. We sat at a table in the alley in front of the restaurant. Very nice tables in themselves. We really appreciated the good idea of ​​separating the tables with plant pots, but the beautiful flowers meant that we had to back our chairs a lot to avoid sitting in the middle of the bush. ;-) We would like to come again :-)

The glass noodle salad consists of 95% glass noodle, some overcooked vegetables and a tasteless sauce. But the terrace is very comfortable.

We had a wonderful and spontaneous evening at Kundigunde. There was something suitable to drink for everyone and the aperitif plates showed a great cross-section of the sandwiches in mini format. The wine selection is also excellent and the two managing directors are not above giving advice, serving people and spreading a good mood. Gladly again!

No matter what the occasion, Kuni & Gunde is the right place for it. It feels like coming home. I always receive such a warm welcome and can stay seated no matter how long. Tim is a great host. Service very attentive and friendly. We drank a wonderful bottle of Chardonnay from Graubünden. Price/performance perfect. We will come back soon and are looking forward to it

Sorry, but over CHF 9 (!) for a small canapé (what else is this “colorful bread” after all) that was initially completely bland cannot be justified. If there was anything else to spice it up or make it “more valuable”, but like that… in my opinion that doesn’t save the extremely nice service.

Cozy place in the middle of Basel. Friendly staff with a kick. The drinks are delicious and the rolls looked fantastic. We had the Ingy Spritz, Plum Spritz and the Tasmanian Devil. All very tasty. Definitely not the last time here.

The location, the ambience and the personality in the middle of the city. Looks exciting. Completely relaxed and simple but quality concept. But what irritated me a bit were the prices. Chocolate cake for more than CHF 9.30. There is something wrong.
