La Balduana in Mendrisio

A splendid terrace overlooking the valley with typical dishes from the Lombardy-Ticino tradition: like pork and venison cured meats, risottos and real "busecca" (tripe in Italian) polenta with braised meat or game, The environment is a bit rustic but the food is good and the view of the valley is spectacular, unfortunately the prices are in line with the so-called 'GROTTI' of Ticino so for 2 people we are around 100 chf (2 courses and wine)

Welcoming and family atmosphere, genuine food, very nice and friendly owners, I recommend it.

It's a nice Grotto on Monte Generoso, it's cool up there and the parking is along the road, so not very convenient. We ate the Chinouse of beef, venison and wild boar. Try it too because it's worth it.

We went in the early evening and really enjoyed the place. There were some exceptional cheeses. They also accommodated us on our desire to eat some polenta. Once you walked all the way to Monte Generoso, it will be a well deserved reward to eat here. Beautiful view as well.
