La Ferme 1794 - Bio Hofladen mit Bistro Café in Murten

The farm shop is beautifully arranged and we have been shopping there for years. We never questioned the prices, only noticed that they had risen a lot since Corona, but we thought it was like everywhere else. However, if you analyze the prices more closely, you will notice that many products have such a large resale margin that you almost fall off your chair. Example of honey: 500g of forest honey from the organic beekeeping not far from Murten costs 27.50, but we bought it anyway. The same organic forest honey costs 17.50 directly from the beekeeper's shop. I have to say that we were a bit shocked and also did the math on the flour, coffee, meat, etc. The margins are enormous, all between 30 and 57% surcharge. For me, this is a disgrace and a rip-off on a large scale, especially in times when inflation is running rampant and customers are getting less for their money. But maybe this is just a shop for rich customers, that's what it looks like and since we're not one of them, we'll avoid the Ferme 1794 farm shop in Murten in the future.

While traveling by car from Basel to Geneva, we decided to make a quick detour for coffee and cheese, and our experience here was a perfect 10 out of 10. I purchased a variety of six cheeses to savor on our journey, and the selection was excellent in my opinion. The young lady at the cheese stand was incredibly kind and informative, and her ability to speak English was greatly appreciated. The store itself is stunning, with a sleek and organized presentation that is irresistibly tempting for purchases.

Everything being organic, the prices are higher but the quality is excellent. Recommended product: Spitzhorn extra cheese, 3 years old, a real treat.

Very nice organic delicatessen... not cheap but definitely worth discovering. You can even have an aperitif on site. Very good cheese, cold meat and the possibility of discovering a different wine by the glass each month (white and black). A treat😋. Beautiful terrace too😊

Very nice (perfect) organic store with a very large selection: cheese counter, fresh vegetables, sausages. Large selection of everything. Parking spot. 2 tables for coffee breaks inside. Terrace with a view of Mont Vully. Very friendly service. It's worth a visit!

Extraordinary and priced to match

Very clean and structured organic store. To recommend!!

We ordered 3 cold plates and received a small one (my wife's birthday present). On the plate we found 6 fatty salami slices, 6 tarnished ham rolls, 5.5 slices of Mostbröckli, 3 halved small tomatoes, 4 olives and 3 different types of cheese - sometimes cut lengthwise and sometimes rectangular. We returned the salami and ham because these goods had already been exposed to warm air for too long and were starting to smell. When we asked, the rather amateurish waitress informed us that there was 150 g per person on the plate and that the price was normal at CHF 18.00 (Fr. 120.00/kg!!!). The quality absolutely does not match the price!! I feel ripped off.

Nice and large selection. Fresh regional, seasonal vegetables and fruits. Also meat, eggs and a huge selection of cheese. Red and white wine also a small selection. Also nice price because everything is organic quality

Lovely experience at this place. The shop is wonderful, but we also very much enjoyed our breakfast on the terrace. The food was tasty, it's a lovely spot to sit in the sun and the whole feeling was that the team had put a lot of effort into making this a nice experience for their guests.

Very friendly service, even shortly before closing time! We found many delicious items. I will definitely go shopping there again. It's my favorite store!!!

The waitress (very old) is extremely unfriendly, but she explains to everyone that she is the only one who can do everything. Soup a tasteless mush. We wanted to do a C test because we didn't taste anything. Salad was the only good thing. Quiche is actually good, but warmed up in the microwave and difficult to digest. If you want antipasti at the counter, the charm bolt immediately announces that it's on the plate and you have to buy it. We didn't ask if it was free... She also didn't know that she offered grain coffee. First a charming NO. Then she finds a can of Naturata grain coffee.... No more! The apprentice tried very hard, but couldn't do anything good against the older lady...

Great quality, organic, local products beautifully displayed, and at reasonable prices. If you can, take the opportunity to eat a sandwich there -- there's plenty of cheeses and antipasti to choose from, and the staff are very knowledgeable and put lots of care into making them. The beetroot quiche is especially recommended -- among the best I've had in my life!

Farm Cafe with balcony dining, garden and play area.

I've wanted to take a look here for a long time. Finally it worked and it won't be the last time. To my surprise, it has a garden behind the house that is suitable for children. It has some toys including tractors. The raised terrace is not big but it is nice and the snacks look great. Ideal for a stopover on a bike tour, as it is also open on Sundays. Also beautiful vegetables and an interesting selection of foods. A little more expensive than in the supermarket but justified in my opinion. Highly recommended.

Traveling to Murten for the first time. Already at the hotel, very friendly greeting and felt welcome! Like at dinner. Friendly service and the menu was wonderful, as was the wine that was recommended to go with it! The breakfast was very rich! 😋 Unfortunately no room request, despite several free options!? We would have liked a room facing the lake! 😔 anyway... our room was small but nice.. 😉 I'll definitely remember this "address"! 👍🏻 kind regards Maya Born

Why always go to a big supermarket when you can find everything you need here to satisfy your thirst and hunger. The vegetables are fresh and organic. Pasta, rice, nuts and much more. After shopping we love to have a piece of vegetable cake and a coffee, there is also something sweet
