La Potinière Jardin Anglais in Genève

We have visited a couple of times during winter & summer, when the season allows to eat on the terrace it is extra nice. Food is nice, also good choice of tapas if you just want to have a few nibbles to enjoy a glass.

We got caught in front of the restaurant in a hailstorm with a child. They were closed, but there were still people inside, the server refused to open up, even though he walked around with food still. Incredibly rude and just lacking humanity altogether. If this is how they treat people, potential customers, I am not sure I would ever try their actual service.

Arrived at 5 p.m., there are two of us. We learn that no hot drinks are available, anything food based is not possible. Only alcohol and soft drinks (let’s not forget that it’s February and it’s 7 degrees). We were received in a non-friendly manner. When we asked: small restoration, there is, we are given the card, throw it away, telling us no, leaving us with a beautiful sentence that I will quote below: “I’ll let you watch and make decisions.” What a poetic way to say goodbye

I love going to brunch at La Potinière. The buffet is very varied, the food is very good and the products are very good. The atmosphere is very family-friendly, you can even bring your dog there and that’s great.

Great mixologists, very good drinks. However its super crowded. Be prepared to stand by the bar the whole time. Tables are all cramped together. They clearly host too many tables compared to its real capacity.

We stopped for an aperitif... excellent cheese and cured meat platter. I highly recommend. Very helpful staff. Rich and delicious platter. Great beers.

Really overwhelmed by the behavior of a waiter (Mr. golden glasses) who allows us to close the parasol without even asking the opinion of our table, I think that goes more than far than a lack of respect is a lack of education. The rest of the staff were very cheerful and professional. I think Mr Golden Glasses should change careers…

However, a recent experience with one of the waitresses who constantly added between 2CHF and 10CHF to each payment during an evening greatly disappointed and cooled me (payment for each order, 3 payments in the evening)...

In a sports bar at Pâquis you know better hospitality than in a busy bar in the heart of Geneva. The gentleman received a very unpleasant and rude welcome, he thought he was the boss of the establishment. He kicked us out of the table which was kindly vacated for us by our friends and then threw us out of the establishment, shouting and spitting his saliva all around him. Pitiful service… The confirmation is the answer below. Of course I know the Pâquis district since many of my colleagues from the banking sector as well as friends who come from the trading sector frequent this place to watch football matches... Who are also your clients. I'm sorry that the only way to justify yourself is humiliation... and especially towards women. A simple response at the beginning that you were full was enough. Magnificent environment by the lake: welcoming and attentive service but what a disappointment for the tapas. Mediocre quality . Guacamole with a plastic taste, rubber bread, tasteless cheese.

My evening at the Potinière restaurant was extremely disappointing. As soon as I tasted the dish I ordered, I was met with major disappointment. Not only was the dish cold and seemed to come straight from the fridge, but the quality of the meal was greatly affected. The tabbouleh indicated on the menu looked like porridge (see photo). I was so dissatisfied with the situation that I wanted to express my dissatisfaction to the waiter. Unfortunately, no one asked me if I enjoyed my dish and we had to ask several times for the bill from another waiter who, upon seeing my plate full, did not ask me if our tasting was good. passed. This lack of attention to the quality of the dishes and the service deeply disappointed me. When you go to a restaurant, you expect the food to be fresh, tasty and well prepared. Unfortunately, this was not the case at La Potinière in the evening. The dish I received was an unappetizing mush with plastered cheese, far from what I expected. It’s a place where you eat well and the service is friendly. Unfortunately, as a peanut allergy, I only had the option to eat a salad of raw vegetables or a bowl of lentils... It's a shame that in a place like that they don't give more options to people with dangerous allergies

$40 for a burger, fries and water. And the water never actually showed up. But at least the burger was bland.

What a spot! Frankly, I, who thought it was just a tourist thing, was amazed! the brunch is simply incredible, and I'm not sure incredible is enough! Thank you to the whole team for the kindness and sympathy! I'm going to add this address to my guide!

Waited at the entrance for 10 minutes with 3 staffs catering to 50 people. Invited to sit and waited another 10 minutes before being given the menu. They rather wipe, clean the table and seek payment rather than giving us the menu at first. Menu - Lack of main dishes. Staff wasn’t polite and cocky. I wish they know how to serve like in my home country. Last thing - never thought there would be strong racism in Geneva!

I called twice to book a table for 6 people and they confirmed it. I called again to cancel it and I realized they didn’t even take note of the reservation. On the phone they don’t even listen to you or their communication levels are low apparently 😄 It is a challenging task for them to book a table for people 😂

I give one star for the dish and one star for the frame. The server Jeremy was terrible throughout the service. No hello, no recommendations, he casually threw the dishes at us throughout the meal. I had already heard a few days ago that the service left something to be desired, not sure I would return for a long time.

We were here several times on different occasions. Cocktails are OK. Location is superb and the service is generally fine (a bit slow). The only time we ate we had an awful salad and the hamburger was overcooked and dry.

I never thought there would be rasism in Geneva. The treatment of anybody who is not known to the staff is absolutely rasist of the worst kind. We were never served although they offered us a table. The Tourist Organization of Geneva should take measures sinse this place operates on public property.

My friends and I came in July for the all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch for 49 francs which obviously no longer exists. Instead there was a “brunch plate” for 24 francs with advertised (champions, shrimp, salmon, scrambled eggs, salad, tomatoes and potatoes) We were served a plate with 3 slices of mushrooms, 3 shrimps, 5 salad leaves, a slice of tomato, a mini bowl of scrambled eggs and 5 or 6 totally cold and certainly frozen potatoes. To accompany we ordered the plate of pastries for 14 francs with announcement (croissants, pain au chocolat and pancakes in the plural) We were served a plate with a mini croissant, a mini pain au chocolat and a mini industrial pancake For the price it’s a joke! Too bad I didn't have the reflex to take photos. The only positive point in this place are the waiters and waitresses who are adorable and restrictive, I actually felt sorry for them that they were forced to serve this scam to customers. TO AVOID ABSOLUTELY!

Me and my wife wanted to grab a drink at this place cause it has a nice view. It was a Sunday afternoon after 2pm, restaurant was 70%full, the waitress asked if we are here for lunch, we said we would like to have a drink. She looked around and took her awhile to think where to sit us, and she decided to reject us and said sorry it's for lunch only. We instantly felt very unwelcomed, it wasn't written on the menu that it's for lunch only, it's quite obvious that she rejected us because she think we won't generate as much money as other tables. It was quite disappointing and upsetting.

One Saturday evening, shrimp pasta only to end up with tasteless pasta with salmon cream....incidentally, with the promise of having pieces of salmon that I'm still looking for...! Too much arugula and the dish arrives lukewarm. Another place which is located on a great site, which wants to act trendy and chic but which only has the cover because the quality is far from being there. We end up with the kind of tourist trap who think they're eating great food in a great place and in the end, their dreams are dashed... too bad for the image of Geneva which has been shriveled by this kind of establishment

We were ignored by a rude waiter. Terrible service. Long waits. The food was average and expensive, $200 for a bad steak (seriously).

Sat in the outdoor garden for 10 minutes. Despite only a few customers, nobody came to even offer a menu, so I left.
