Langenberg in Langnau am Albis

We spend a lot of time in the wilderness park and sometimes go to restaurants. We hoped that the restaurant would get better with the change (as you would expect from the zoo). Unfortunately we were disappointed... fries unfortunately not good, crispy nuggets not edible. We thought the "vegetable sticks" were a great idea but they looked old and tasted like a refrigerator…a shame. Hope for improvement. Otherwise there's still the picnic.

Good cuisine, nothing wrong with it.

Will keep this pic of the super cherry streusel cake as an ode to the restaurant that was once here before the Zoo Zürich took it over and removed this from the menu (as well as the Wild Burger, all pasta, grilled veggies with pita and salad bar). Such a pity! We loved going to this place with kids but those days are gone.

Good restaurant in front of the bears!

The food is great and the prices are ok. There may be a queue on a public holiday or weekend.

The kitchen was closed before the official working hours. The service was quite rude. There weren't appropriate cappucino cups (left only too small). I have received unpleasant reply when asked to have refill in an appropriate cup. The restaurant is also quite expensive (coffee is available only from the self service mashine), and the price have increased in the last few months.

There were so many people that you had to stand for about 20 minutes to get something to drink

There was roast and carrots, a small dessert and it was solid and fine. Seniors' trip with around 60 participants, I was responsible for choosing the restaurant. From much earlier, I remembered a restaurant with quick meals and a view of the bear enclosure. In terms of cuisine, my expectations were exceeded, all guests enjoyed it, it was served quickly, not a quick meal, but quality. And yet inexpensive. Of course: we all had the same menu and made reservations. The bear then promptly appeared in the enclosure, clearly visible through the large glass panes over the restaurant forecourt. Recommended for group excursions - allow a little more time than we took for a walk through the zoo.

Our cycling group appreciates the speedy food preparation. Very friendly service at the checkout, we will stop at this place again next year.

Wow! Shockingly disgusting in the restaurant there. I haven't been to the restaurant there in over a year and the change leaves you speechless. - very unfriendly checkout staff - very dirty toilets (floors) - Changing mat that was once white is covered in black spots. - Cake tasted like cardboard - the floor was barely recognizable and full of slippery puddles of soft drinks and water ice. - Prices totally disproportionate - Parking fee (outside parking space) 10CHF flat rate?! Shocking.

Except for the lack of friendliness at the checkout... Food expensive and "basic". Seating easy. Not corresponding to the prices. Better just a bratwurst stand, but friendly and good. (If you can sit outside it is definitely less noisy and nicer.)

Our grandchildren enjoyed it very much. The animals, the playground and the other children. 😊

Too expensive, the Pomeranians were too salty and some of the chicken nuggets were still raw... when I reported it, the first person only said ok and the second person just said sorry... that doesn't work at all!! Raw chicken can be harmful to your health!!!!

Always great so far, today the chicken nuggets were very dry. Selection according to demand. Mostly courteous employees. Clean!

You read a lot about bad food here. We weren't able to have this experience once today because, according to the staff, the kitchen closed half an hour earlier due to few guests. So we sat there with a hungry child and empty stomachs and were treated unkindly by the staff. You would think that if there are few guests and low sales, you would be more dependent on paying guests. But you can be wrong like that. So we will probably refrain from visiting and “enjoying” the apparently bad food in the future. Thanks for nothing

One star is already too much here! Just sad, I don't understand that nothing is being done, including no response to the many bad reviews and complaints. The food is so embarrassingly bad that we wondered (whether HE or SHE) had this training for animal cuisine. Prices for such poor, inedible food are a complete rip-off. (WE DIDN'T EAT ANYTHING). The toilets were very small and dirty, and we also wondered whether animals were going there too. NEVER AGAIN, WE WILL NOT RECOMMEND IT TO AS MANY FRIENDS, KNOWS, ETC AS POSSIBLE! Let us know if you change anything about the cooking and food, then we'll come back and gladly pay for it if it's edible.

Absolutely acceptable for a park

Far too expensive for a family park. A portion of fries costs 8.80 and you still have to pay separately for ketchup and mayonnaise. When I asked why, the chef replied stroppily because that was the case. The first and last time

A great place to watch animals, large enclosures, families friendly and great that dogs are allowed on one side. Playgrounds are great and a great restaurant

Good enough to eat, but just too expensive. The drinks in particular (PET 5.-) are simply overpriced. So the recommendation is: take some cervelat and iced tea and have a picnic...

The restaurant is rather below average and very expensive. For a cup of milk, UHT cold without foam, they charge CHF 4.50. Anyone who pays less than 5 CHF with a card pays an additional 20 centimes card fee in addition to the horrendous prices. People are shamelessly exploiting the situation here and ripping off families. What a shame!

Small selection of food, a bit expensive, but no entrance fee and the food is fine.

Very nice park. Here you can have a great walk and see various animals. Everything is very clear and informative. There is also a children's playground and a cafe. There are several grill areas throughout the park where you can light a fire and fry food. Ideal for spending time with the whole family.

Nice staff and nice to sit outside and eat. But the food was extremely expensive for what was on the plates. The fries were certainly fried three times. Dry and full of frying oil. Burger also dry and cold. A pity. Next time there will be a picnic.

The entrance area is very small where you place the order. The food is quite ok. For the price, the portion of pasta could be larger...it will feed a maximum of one child. But the employees are nice.

Uncomplicated self-service for visitors to the zoo.

Allergies are not catered for and everything is drowned in the same sauce. The wild burger is not recommended, dry and tasteless. At least the fries were good.

Ultra cool with kids for a barbecue and excursion

For a self-service restaurant, I find that the prices are exaggerated (CHF 5.- for a Rivella in a bottle). There are only 2 toilets, one for women and one for men. So when there are a lot of people, a queue is guaranteed.

Flammkuchemb is highly recommended. Fast service!

Simple self-service restaurant with a surprisingly large menu selection and very good quality. All the employees are very friendly and everything is child-friendly.

Unfortunately the food wasn't good. Self-service and cold fries, overpriced sausage and cold pinsa.

There are very few seats inside the self-service restaurant. And the outdoor spaces are not prepared for the colder months (winter garden, furs, heaters, wind protection - none of it available). The area where you can place orders is also very narrow and small. Food ok for the price, service staff very friendly. But it would be nice if something could be invested in the infrastructure.

The staff in the restaurant work calmly and purposefully, even under stress, and the cashier also has time for a chat and doesn't lose her sense of humor. What pissed me off are the steep prices (8.50 Sfr for a portion of fries that you pick up yourself at the counter, and the prices for drinks) and the outdoor area, which is not covered at all and therefore offers no opportunity to escape the crowded area Avoid interior space. At peak times, the two toilets are not enough. We would like to come back to the zoo because it is really great and very educational, but we will take food and drink with us and use the good opportunities for picnicking.

We weren't able to sit inside, nor outside in the wet. Owner came out and yelled at us in front of our kids, despite wanting to buy food for them. We are a small Kindergarten and we don't need someone coming out and yelling around 4-5 year olds. Never thought I'd experience such treatment. Edit after owner reply: 1. We were never told not to sit outside 2. If my kids start crying and asking why "that man was so mean to us", I feel nothing has been twisted. Next time someone doesn't do something you like, how about you just be kind rather than yelling at children and discriminating against small, private kindergartens.

Upon special request, the cheese was left out of the burger 👍🏻 The fries were a bit too cooked and didn't smell quite as "pure" as fries. The burger was ok but nothing special. For a family the price is at the upper limit but there is free entry and theoretically picnic alternatives.

Nice open child-friendly self-service restaurant. The menu offering is small but sufficient. Our meal, a freshly prepared pizza and a bratwurst in onion sauce with French fries, was very good. All in all, a normal restaurant.

The food is too expensive in my opinion. If it would at least taste very good, at best it would be justified, but not in my opinion. But we have always received friendly service. The view of the bear enclosure and the playground right next to it are really great.

Caught a pretty busy day. Since there weren't many animals to be seen, the individual enclosures were a bit cramped. The prices in the self-service restaurant are at the upper limit. Hot dog and portion of fries for 8.50 each. No entry for that. We picked up some trash and disposed of it.

Burgers were not made fresh, burgers that were made were warmed up and therefore extremely dry! Price/performance is not right here! Staff but friendly.

We received perfect, friendly and courteous service from a foreign employee. Even our German Shepherd Shela received water and Gutzis from her. It was just perfect.

Maybe the boss is just having a bad day. Still, I want to feel welcome as a guest and not see her shaking her head because it takes us a little longer to decide on an offer. My reaction that this didn't go down well with me as a guest was followed by her comment to the colleague: "Do we even want to give him anything?" I then gave up completely voluntarily.

Burnt food. We ordered grilled vegetables in a pita bread and Flammkuchen and both were burnt. Quite disappointing. Plus the cooks touch your food with their bare hands, when serving.

Too expensive for the quality of food served!

So the zoo is great. It has great barbecue areas and picnic areas. The restaurant, on the other hand, is very minimal in terms of assortment. And very expensive. I wonder if this benefits the animals?!

Sunday morning early was beautiful. Saw lots of animals and only a few people.

Parking lot 10Chf is ok, but free entry. Anyone traveling by public transport can even get in for free. Sanitary facilities poor and bad smell

It's a shame and very sad that the two popular foxes, Daisy and Chili, were infected with a serious viral disease, distemper, and could not be saved. So many photographers have enjoyed them every day, it would be nothing but fair to inform visitors, instead of just leaving a flyer in Hyde, that the fox enclosure is currently not occupied. People make up the worst speculations like that. 🌈 RIP Daisy and Chili, thank you for the beautiful moments and memories with you❣️

Beautiful zoo....spacious and beautifully done....entrance is free....and you pay for the parking lot Fri: 10.00....since they finance the zoo with the parking fees, I think that's a more than fair price ....

A pleasant and interesting place with a lot of ingredients

We were only there for a coffee but the staff is very friendly.

I can only rate the park and not the restaurant but the park is very beautiful. The parking fee of CHF 10 is fair since you don't have to pay an entrance fee. Always a nice destination and luckily you won't be excluded even with Covid.

Great and relaxed wildlife park. Highly recommended...you sometimes need a little patience and luck to see all the animals, but it's always worth it, even without children in tow. Even when there were more crowds, people were spread out well.

Never again. I ordered a tarte flambée for my wife, the bottom was completely burnt and black, raw onions and cold bacon on top. I brought it back and explained that the bottom was burnt, then the “cook” said that it wasn’t burnt but that it must be because of underheating. After I explained to her that I was a trained chef and that it certainly didn't have to be that way, she prepared a new one for me. Second try exactly the same. The Chilli Cheese Fries were just fries with a lousy cheese sauce. At least after I reported it again and it wasn't received very kindly, the 14 CHF was returned to me. Great park but the restaurant is not recommended.

Unfortunately not recommended at all. We wanted to eat there with 4 people, even though there wasn't much going on and the cash register was full of coins. I didn't get any change for my 10 francs for parking. With the justification “we have nothing to do with the parking spaces”. How else are customers supposed to get there? We prefer to go to a customer-friendly restaurant after the walk in the zoo.
