Tasty vegetarian food. Visited on a Saturday evening, when the restaurant was full with visitors. It was loud, making it difficult to have a relaxed conversation with my partner. The acoustic of the room could be improved.

At the Lauch you will be welcomed in a very friendly manner and accompanied to one of the well-laid tables. The atmosphere is stylish, the furnishings are harmonious and beautiful, everything fits together and forms a unit. (The only small point of criticism: the different light temperatures in the otherwise beautiful and original lamp arrangement above the entrance area...) An extremely pleasant thing for me: there is no music! The very friendly service accompanies you through the evening in a pleasant, humorous, competent and unobtrusive manner. The dishes are an experience for both the eye and the palate; everything is beautifully coordinated and placed on the plate like a work of art; In our case, the color of the drink even matched the food. The map is pleasantly clear; Another positive thing is that all products are local or regional. I'm thrilled and would love to come back!

We had a wonderful spot by the window and enjoyed a super-fine 4-course menu. The yellow wine was special, wonderful and recommended. The service was top and the atmosphere was really cozy, especially in the run-up to Christmas. Thank you very much ❤️

The finest and most creative veggie restaurant in town!

As far as the taste of the dishes is concerned, I would even like to give it 6 stars. Incredibly sophisticated cuisine, very attentive, friendly and at the same time Swiss relaxed service. We come from Hamburg. Nevertheless, the “leek” alone is a reason to come back to Basel soon. The house aperitif is also highly recommended. Overall, a great, sustainable concept that does not neglect the culinary aspects in any way.

A delicious lunch! Three non vegetarians and we all loved it! Food was full of flavour, very well balanced, light and really interesting. We had the three course set lunch and it was incredible value. Attractive restaurant with lots of outside tables. Great service, a very friendly team.

I went to Leek for lunch twice and was happy with it. The menu is creative and the food is delicious. The restaurant has a good price/performance ratio for the lunch menu. The service is great.

This establishment is a ridiculous attempt to be elitist like "Le trois Rois" when around 10 o'clock in the evening - at a half empty restaurant, with the answer: “You can actually only eat something here” to the statement: "You just want something to drink" suggests that you are not wanted. When art and reason go on a culinary excursion, meet the muse and then decide to inspire people, it is very likely that the LAUCH team will have a visit. Culinary on a world level, stylistically so wonderfully unpretentious, compositional if the term still had any value, AUTHENTIC with a wink. Let's talk about food! Whether it's a trend or not, vegan or vegetarian cuisine is the diet of our future. That's why I'm very happy when pioneers like the "Lauch" restaurant set new standards and conjure up artistic meat-free dishes. The kitchen always cooks vegan. Vegetarian dishes are explicitly marked. Intense aromas, clear color combinations and well-coordinated dishes accompany us throughout the evening. Although the somewhat loud noise level and the not always attentive staff detract from the overall ambience, the restaurant is overall highly recommended.

CHF 140 for two people without wine Atmosphere: = easy going rustic interior

Stopped here for dinner without a reservation and got quite lucky as they had a table for 2 but I would really recommend making a reservation before dining. Staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly. Nice atmosphere and seating, was warm and cosy. Food was exceptional and although the menu is limited, it changes often but was super yummy and presented well. Good drinks choice with complimentary bread and spreads. I would come back for more 😋 Toilet facilities are located downstairs, so some people may have accessibility issues. There's a self service coat hanging area which was nice Menu is vegan and vegetarian only and they offer, starters, mains, desserts and some other special meal options.

I have never eaten so many vegetables prepared in such a tasty way in one evening. I recommend taking the menu as you get the full range of cuisine here. Deductions for the fact that it felt relatively tight.

PURE ENTHUSIASM! A very successful and authentic concept with high quality products and sophisticated dishes. We were five “foodies”; The men ordered the 4-course menu, the women had a starter and a main course. The wine was recommended to us and went perfectly with the food. An all around fantastic experience. I had the vegan menu and loved every course and the amuse bouche was delicious too. Very friendly service on top of it. This is a proper restaurant, it’s not cheap, but it’s absolutely worth the price, as you get to eat great dishes you have not had before! Went there with three meat eaters and one vegetarian and they were all very blown away.

Was excellent. All four dishes were super-flavorful. House drink was lovely and wine was crisp, paired well. Service was genuine and very helpful, friendly. Would highly recommend and will certainly go again.

I'm not that impressed with the food. I think the products are fresh and regional but the food doesn't appeal to me, and not at all for this price. We had the 3-course vegi + 4-G vegan. The pea balls were good, the rest were a bit bland. The desserts were the highlight. Service wasn't particularly attentive that evening...and it was very loud in the restaurant!

We are very disappointed. Boring, lacking in taste, lacking charm and not visually appealing. The so-called regional mushrooms looked and tasted suspiciously like canned mushrooms. Maybe it tastes better in the evening.

We had an excellent meal! Imaginative, beautifully and sympathetically presented plates in a warm atmosphere. Vegetarian or vegan cuisine at the highest level, but still absolutely affordable.

Unexpectedly good for an pop-up. Very creative and deliciously cooked vegetarian dishes. Impressed by the so deliciously done parsnip crème brulée....the talented cook turnt this very simple humble parsnip into a star dish !! Well done!! Tempura tofu with sauerkraut was a good harmonious combination. Wine list is short and good, with the best local bio-dynamic wines ! Though a pop-up, details were put into the simple and yet elegant design. Service was prompt and warm. Would definitely return and recommend to all who appreciate delicious, good, local, seasonal vegetables!!

The Lauch restaurant is like a little oasis in the middle of the city. With its cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, it invites you to have an experience. The food was great and I am sure that non-vegetarians would also love it. The kitchen is creative and spoils you with unusual and balanced dishes. I would go again at any time.

We had a wonderful 4 course menu. Each course was an even greater culinary delight than the one before. The wine that accompanied us was no less tasty. Props to the kitchen and the wonderful service!

From sensational to less than casual. The waiters are very friendly and corteous. The Salat as a starter is fresh due to the Kapuzinerkresse. unfortunately the main dish happened to be a starter as well "\_(°u°)_/" The dumpling with Kimchi were a little bland. The butternut with goat cream cheese and Thyme foam dipped with black garlic dips has been sensationel. Also the Cappuccino I can strongly recommend, great roasted beans, nor sour nor bitter but strong in coffee taste. Athough the dishes are quite small and can vary much in taste, all together a 4 * is still too little, because I weight the effort to use mostly local grown and fabricated products (as the soya sauce is produced in Rheinfelden). In Anbetracht dessen dass wir nur von 18h - 20h einen Tisch bekamen, war ich irritiert, dass um 17h45 noch stahlketten den Eingang versperrten.

Favorite restaurant Unfortunately only for a limited time

The menu has changed for the first time and new delicacies are being served. The beetroot starter is a poem, wonderfully seasoned. Although the white polenta with wonderful vegetables is also delicious, I am glad that the fried leek on chickpea puree is still on the menu, my favorite dish. Now that it's dark outside again, you feel even more comfortable in the warm light of the funny lamps. I'll be back soon!

The vegan food was very good. The chef also puts a lot of effort into the preparation. The portion sizes are great (we didn't take the menu, but individual courses). For us, the only thing that was a bit much was the chickpea puree. The service was also friendly. The concept with regional products is great, but unfortunately the wine wasn't ours (we prefer foreign wine). The ambience is nice, a bit cramped and loud when it's full. All in all a great evening.

Great restaurant with wonderful delicacies from vegetarian and vegan cuisine and warm hosts - highly recommended for fans of epicurean food! Unfortunately the table by the door wasn't quite optimal due to draft! Overall, however, great!

Anything but the classic “vegetable plate”! The vegan or vegetarian 4-course menu is absolutely recommended! Tastes great and is also an absolute highlight for the eye.
