Invited by my manager this afternoon, we ordered a gallows… 100 francs to share. Disappointed by the frozen bread (even though the restaurant is opposite one of the best bakeries in the canton)... Disappointed by the salad as a starter (20g of grated carrot and 2 salad leaves)... Disappointed by industrial sauces… Disappointed by the support… there was none… Disappointed with the rice… we even had to order 2 portions of fries to have enough to eat. Disappointed by the meat :( 11 people at the table, 11 disappointed people who will never return to this restaurant… Disappointed! The servers are pleasant.

They offer mini menus for kids which we always appreciate as our kid ends up wasting did otherwise. Réservation is recommended as there is good footfall here.. Taking a star away for two reasons 1. The table arrangement was a bit crowded. The restaurant is trying to accommodate more people and demand is high but it might compromise the experience for some. The staff also seemed a bit stretched despite that i must say they were cheerful. 2. The restaurant doesn't offer any view of the vineyard or lake so if you are looking for that this may not be the right choice.

Today we went 5 minutes up the road into downtown Chexbres and discovered this gem. The food was simply outstanding! My foie gras starter (sorry!) was right up there with the best available anywhere, as was my wife’s goat cheese salad. My main course was just jaw-droppingly good. Cheval entrecôte on a heated griddle pan with cafe de Paris. Over and above this, the service was extremely friendly and attentive. We just loved the place and have already reserved for tomorrow. A must visit!
