Leoncavallo Café in Brissago

I think I ate the most delicious raw ham ever here. The cold plates are prepared with a lot of love and taste fresh and delicious. The staff is very attentive and friendly. All in all, this restaurant deserves at least 5 stars.

We celebrated my birthday here and everyone was so attentive and friendly. We all felt very comfortable and the food, especially the raw ham, was absolutely delicious. Thumbs up.

It was high time to finally find a place in Brissago where you can really chill out!

A great atmosphere and location. This place is really awesome. The food is super freshly prepared and everyone is very nice and attentive. You made my wedding day even more beautiful because we felt very comfortable.

I stopped for an aperitif to eat two miserable chips and the boy who served us was sulking. If there are problems, the customers have nothing to do with it. I'm sorry but I will never go there again

We stopped for a "quick breakfast" (coffee, croissant, juice and water) good price in my opinion for the place 8.50 CHF. Convenient parking nearby and a very nice place with a view of the lake. Very friendly and kind waiter. Advise

I was in the area for a trip out of town and looking at the timetable on the website, I went to this café. Unfortunately, even though it was 5.30pm I found it closed, half an hour before the declared time, without any sign explaining the reason. I found it unprofessional.

Tuesday morning waiting for the bus I stopped in this place to drink a cappuccino, a very kind waiter dressed in black served me the cappuccino but unlike the lady behind the counter who banged and said bad words in German shameful never again, sorry for the really friendly waiter

I stopped by a few times because I had heard about the recent change of management and I was able to notice some things that I consider truly shameful. First of all, the glasses facing upwards above the coffee machine without protection (in defiance of European HCCP hygiene regulations, even if Switzerland is not in the EU) which collect dust and are also used for aperitifs and wines without first cleaning them from dust. The milk in the cappuccino pot is left open and the milk carton is not placed in a refrigerator after use, also given the high temperatures of this period which can make the milk acidic. The coffee is made without ever carefully cleaning the filter after each coffee but leaving residues inside. I noticed it while drinking a hot latte at the counter. On another occasion I stopped, in the company of another person, to drink an aperitif and, in addition to having noticed the problem with the glasses, what they served us as an aperitif was poor (3 small ceramic containers) and the chips were broken and 'possessed' (maybe they recycle them or use poor quality products or ones that have been left out in the open for a long time). The service, therefore, is absolutely terrible. As far as I'm concerned, I will never set foot in a place like this again, unless it changes management. I'm sorry to leave such a harsh (but still honest and frank) review because it is places like this that put our splendid Canton of Ticino in a bad light, and many locals and entrepreneurs who, on the contrary, work professionally. I understand why tourism often moves towards Ascona, Locarno or Lugano, leaving isolated but still picturesque border places like Brissago. However, there are other places to visit along the Brissago lake that are worth visiting and also in the center of Brissago, near the town hall.

Good bar with great sandwiches and very friendly staff

A bit disappointing and never worth 5 points for us. The room was hardly decorated at all. Very manageable offer. Coffee was thin and not hot enough. A chocolate thaler was served in supermarket packaging. Disappointing in all respects (except the price). A pity.

This café really has a lot of sweet delicacies. And you can enjoy your coffee in the sun outside! Really very good patisserie!

Very uncomplicated restaurant, friendly service, top panino!

Very good fresh homemade pasta. The recommended daily special was tagliatelle with funghi porcini, which were excellent. The dessert we recommended was also very tasty. Service was very quick and friendly. Gladly again!

Beautiful weekend in Brissago and a wonderful welcome at the Antica Osteria Bolognese. Intimate and welcoming environment with Davide truly a great gentleman. Delicious typical Bolognese food with top lasagna and number one braised meat (excellent cook). Impeccable service. Highly recommended.
