This is the unfriendly place in Switzerland we have ever visited. The two witches have no idea what customer service means. The only reason this place exists is because there is no alternative on this hiking route. Here are just three examples of what we experienced today. When we arrived we asked if they serve Älplermagronen and what did the witch answer? "It's the last day of the season and we only have what's left." Then there was a woman who asked what kind of coffee they serve and the other witch replied "We have the coffee we always serve". And then some hikers asked if they accepted cards or at least TWINT. They received such a rude response that they left immediately. Interestingly, one of the owners later mentioned in a private conversation that they don't accept cards to avoid problems with the tax authorities. Of course, if you accept cash, no trace will be left. I will ensure that the tax authorities in Sigriswil are well informed about this.

Nestled in the back of the beautiful Justistal is the large Mittelberg with the dairyman's hut where Lili's pub is located. We made reservations for brunch on August 1st for 6 people. This brunch has been around for a few years and is very nice even in rainy weather. Be sure to reserve in advance. We actually wanted to drive to the Büffelboden parking lot and then hike, but it was raining heavily so we drove to the hut. A large tent was built directly next to the hut and everything stayed dry. Even though it was like a marquee, it was very comfortable. The buffet was very extensive and there were also two different types of hash browns and various egg variations. We'll be back next year 😍
