Lion D'Or in Versoix

It was my first lunch there today, following recommandation from friands and the good ratings. The qualité of the food seems really good, but I must have been unlucky, because the végétales we're armistice cold, and the meat I had asked rare, was medium plus. I gently told the waiter, but he didn't seem to believe me about the cold vegetables, and proposed me to cook my meat even more. Later the boss (?) asked me as well, I explained/showed him and told him that the quality and taste were very good and that I can accept a little "mistake" ... We ordered to rounds of coffee and honestly expected them to offer at least one, but they didn't, so they won't see me again, and I won't recommend the place to anyone

The reception was stressful for the server. In short, we settle in. We waited 20 minutes before getting an aperitif. Now stressful for us, each time the waiter passes by our table, he briefly taps on our table (probably a knock). We waited 1 hour to get our dish. The dishes were good, 2 courses for the perch fillets and cordon bleu very good. Noisy room. What we will remember: the service is a disaster. We will not come back.

More than an hour of waiting before being served. Vegetarian hamburger not recommended: vegetable patty whose size is half the bread was too fried just like the fries which were all brown and some were even soft therefore inedible. The other 3 dishes, however, pleased those who accompanied me (perch fillets in particular were very good)

On the terrace of the Lion d’or in Versoix, in a pedestrian street with the charm of a small village. It’s calm and sunny. Tasting a sublime homemade Wagyu beef burger, morel sauce… homemade fries. My partner had the veal rice with morels, a perfectly mastered dish!

Have been there several times now for business dinners and can say the quality of the food is consistently very good. The service is quick and polite. Definitely a good address for a nice dinner.

The ambiance of the restaurant is fairly nice but the service is very poor. We ordered 2 "entrecote" steaks which were over cooked and the fries were either refried or over cooked as well. Waiters are not keen to give good service, we asked for water twice which never came and was offered when we were leaving. Zero value for money considering the price of 38chf for each less the drinks we had. That's our first and last visit to this restaurant.
