Living Room in Genève

We went there for dinner on a Sunday, and the place was practically empty, but we decided to give it a try as the reviews here generally look great. As we went for early dinner (17:30 ish) they only had the afternoon menu available which actually wasn’t a problem for us, and they continued to let us sit even when the evening serving began. The service is pretty good, with some beaming with service smiles and quality, and others a little more low key, but still service minded. The food is on the expensive side, but it was to be expected of a relatively fancy hotel restaurant, but unfortunately we felt the food didn’t really reflect the price. Although the Caesar salad was good, the club “sandwich” is made of toast bread which had gone rubbery somehow? Probably due to the toasting. It was a bit lacking in taste, something I personally managed to fix with the leftover sauce from the salad. My companion had ordered the sea bass, which sounded amazing but probably was the biggest disappointment. The serving size was quite a joke, something that looks the size of half an appetizer, yet was probably the most expensive thing on the menu costing around 40 CHF (I think). The fish was tender enough, but the oysters had the “fishy” smell and taste in the not so good way. All in all, food was edible, though expensive, the service was not bad, but at least we had a great view of the water in clean and quiet surroundings.

Their French toast is a work of art ❤️ the oatmeal, avocado toast, waffles and salmon plate were also to die for. My family enjoyed breakfast here. We even returned the next day, but unfortunately there were no places.

We accidentally thought that it was an exquisite place as it’s in the nice hotel, so we decided to try their chef’s variant of fish and chips and a beef burger. It was all a disaster. The brioche in the burger was hard as a sole and the French fries were obviously from a bag, not handmade. It cost 38€. Fish and chips were like in a cheap cafe, very greasy. The side salad had too much of oily and sour dressing. It was 35 euro. Non-alcoholic beer -16 euro. Really no idea why for that price you get this poor quality food. Don’t recommend this place.

Gorgeous setting on Lake Geneva. Outstanding atmosphere to have a glass of wine. The chicken cesear salad was excellent.

The food was really delicious. We got two courses with two hot drinks and two juices included. I got the Belgium waffle with red berries and was delighted along with the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. I thought the portions were small but it ended up being too much food for me!

Will not welcome paying customers in the restaurant for breakfast if your not a hotel guest even at 7:30 am when the place is almost empty with the excuse that the hotel is full, it’s 7:30 am how full can the restaurant become !! . will definitely not come again or even think of staying at this Ritz in Geneva. Designer and beautiful interior decor. The place is tempting. Calm atmosphere. I recommend the risotto of the moment cooked in the wheel.

Everything was good until i saw the waiter cutting the breads without gloves , he was arranging the tables and chairs for the costumers after that he cut the bread in the kitchen with naked hands !!!!! Disgusting

Nice restaurant with excellent cuisine and high level of service

I can highly recommend the restaurant, the service, quality of the food and the ambience were top. Also a good price-performance ratio. A nice surprise was the risotto that was prepared live in front of us, and of course it tasted good too!

The setting is as sumptuous as ever, the waiter (a huge thank you to the waiter who came with help from the Frisk bar that evening) who was very available despite our demands which could sometimes be annoying. I apologize for that. I would also like to congratulate and thank the chef, who for the occasion, was kind enough to serve us a dish which is no longer on the menu at the moment (Swiss side of beef with its juice and mashed potatoes with truffle) in addition, the fact of having offered us another (truffle mashed potatoes) simply to pamper us was a kindness that particularly touched us! I would like to thank Living room Bar & Kitchen staff for an exceptionally warm welcome we had today. Seeing my condition they changed the amuse-bouche for me (I can’t eat raw meat/fish at the moment) and were very kind and attentive throughout our dinner, they advised on the menu and desserts, and surprised me by anticipating my questions. The food was amazing, I especially enjoyed the gazpacho. The millefeuille with chocolate was absolutely out of this world, one of the best desserts I have ever tried. This place is definitely on my list of recommendations and we can’t wait to come back!

It's simply not delicious. Supermarket frozen food level. Super delicious frozen food! Well, I traveled to Switzerland this time and went to all the places that are considered high class and delicious, but the food in Switzerland is not so good. The scenery is great though. Everyone come to Japan lol

We had booked for a Sunday brunch with much anticipation but the original place was not available so we were placed somewhere else with no prior notice, and once there it was almost begging for a window table. Food options are plenty in the brunch menu but some were below expected from a Ritz-Carlton standard. We missed glamour and charm from the place and the overall experience. For example: 2 hot drinks included, we only order one, no one asks whether we'd like to exchange that for something, no small cookie or anything with the coffee, no place for coats or the ladies' purses... Relevant details were missing from what we expected should be a great customer experience. We missed some good old-time savoir faire.

Really surprised there are any good reviews of this place. Omg why? Out of desperation?! Is everything in this town is so bad, that people can consider giving this place anymore than 3 stars? The set up is really weird- more like caffe tables and chairs (table is too low), very uncomfortable. Carpet is stained and dirty. The food -most of it came lukewarm: and very bland. It was probably the worst risotto that I have ever eaten. The beef tartar was ok. And the ceviche was really weird. The kids meals were €25 each (penne pasta and ice cream) All in all a very disappointing meal The only thing going for this place is a great entrance and good customer service

I came to celebrate my birthday yesterday with 9 people, booking was very smooth and my contact Ilaria was top notch in responding to all my requests. As for the service, perfect! The servers are extremely friendly, all very professional, they made our evening memorable! The dishes were all delicious from starter to dessert, congratulations to the chef and his team for this service! I was also treated to a small “happy birthday” chocolate plaque on my dessert, the attention touched me a lot. The decor is just as magnificent. We had a great birthday in this place and we will all return there next time! Thanks also to the gentleman in front of the hotel with a name starting with K who was extremely kind! I highly recommend this restaurant and I thank the team a second time for making my birthday unforgettable! Thank you.

We came for dinner with my partner last night, the first restaurant we have visited in Geneva. First of all, I would like to thank the staff! Thanks to Lucile (I hope to write it down) who had a smile on her face at all times. This may seem trivial to some people, but having been to a lot of restaurants not everyone is so welcoming. Thanks also to his colleague, unfortunately not knowing his name I imagine the host, for his hospitality as well. What I appreciated was that we were pampered from the moment we entered. Indeed, when we arrived a pretty table with a view of the lake had been reserved for us, after our request for an aperitif and our order placed it is the small details that create great restaurants like this, I will explain these details. We ordered the Swiss veal chop to share between two. This is rather long in terms of cooking time, between 20 to 25 minutes. I never had the feeling of having waited, precisely because little treats were brought to us while waiting, I find it very important and delicate to think about the customer's wait. The little cromesqui with tomato and olives was a great discovery! The dish itself was a delight: the tender meat melted in the mouth with its very sweet juice to give even more tenderness, an excellent marriage with the truffle puree. A big congratulations! We didn't have dessert so as not to overdo it, but we were treated to a small strawberry and raspberry sweet treat. A touch that is still very touching to end a meal. I'm not going to dwell any further because I think I've been able to say how exceptional this evening was. The setting is sumptuous, the food is exquisite and the staff incredible. Thank you so much. Very attentive waitresses and waiters, a lovely children's menu, a superb setting and atmosphere!

Given the prestige and price of the food I was expecting to have a gastronomical roller-coaster filled with unique tastes and combinations. In the end however the food was good but nothing to write Google about. There was absolutely nothing wrong by any means and the service is easily one of the best I've ever gotten in Switzerland but there was nothing that would actually make me want to come back for more.

Great place and excellent quality price gastro cuisine

The Risotto was incredible and Astrid's attention was excellent, she explained the entire menu to us and made our experience a trip.

For a last dinner in Geneva before flying out, my wife and I decided to try this small restaurant just off the entryway in the Ritz Carlton Hotel down the street from where we were staying. It was cozy, intimate, quiet (on a Sunday), and an all around lovely experience. The staff were attentive and kind without being fussy or intrusive. The food more than lived up to what I would expect from "the Ritz" . It was delicious and exquisitely presented from the lamb's lettuce and roast duck salad with beetroot dressing to the scallops and ravioli, to the amazing dessert. And the recommended wine was great with the meal.

We came here for brunch which is about 70chf a head. The food is gorgeous you can choose 3 dishes and it's defo brunch/lunch plates, I was sooooo stuffed. The service everytime I've been has been excellent. Everyone is friendly and attentive. For a special occasion I would highly recommend.

The brunch options are a combination of breakfast and dinner but the menu is not really a la carte and you have to pay a fixed price for two or three dishes which is a weird concept to me. Dropped by for an early dinner. The service is really good and the staff very friendly. The salad is highly recommended as it had a good mix. The panned seared scallop was a little bit too salty. Price on a higher side but expected for the good location.

Beautiful restaurant and great service. I am a casual person who enjoys fine food; this place has the potential to be pretentious but I felt very welcomed. I had the monk fish, which was very fresh, however the salmon roe garnish was not and it ruin the dish for me.

Excellent food, quiet atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive. The crawfish tagliatelli and gluten free risotto were incredible. The parmesan was melted with alcohol and flame in view and was incredible to watch. The moelleux dessert was delicious. The restaurant catered to gluten free as well.

Fabulous food. They bring me a pot of tea and let me know how long the (loose) tea had been steeping. For you tea experts out there, you know this is crucial to the perfect cup.

35 day old Angus Swiss steak, tender, juicy and well presented. One of the best servers I’ve seen. Recommend this place any day for its starters, main dishes and desserts.

I have a good membership and stay in Ritz hotels in most parts of the world. But this is the hotel if you don't live in it. You are not allowed to eat breakfast here. Not good treatment from them.

I tried their delicious appetizer plate once, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, even their coffee is delicious, and don't forget the delicious French toast.

Limited menu but fresh and delicious food

Food was delicious - French toast is the best I have ever had! The day we went it was very busy and so the customer service was very slow and it was hard to get anyone’s attention. I would recommend to reserve in advance as many people were being turned away.

Honestly, for 5 stars, disappointed. I came for brunch with the kids, it was super long. Too much. Not up to the prices.

We came for the "easter brunch" and we had the best brunch of this year, a special congrats for the Chef who prepared the "devilishly delicious dishes", and hats off for the friendly staffs who made our day wondeful.

I discovered the brunch offered by the Living Room Bar & Kitchen a few weeks ago and since then I can't help but go back almost every weekend. A mouth-watering menu and high-quality service (thanks to Suhas who always takes very good care of us). Favorite for their schnitzel!

The only place in Geneva that did not accept our international vaccine certificate and the restaurant was empty. They blamed Swiss law (even the airport accepted our vaccine certificate) Don't bother wasting your time.

This was our Wedding Anniversary choice. We had lots to choose from here in Geneva and we were very pleased we picked the Living Room. Although it is in the Ritz, the vibe isn't too stuffy or Lux rather nice and funky but with an air of quality. We spoke French, but the staff's English was excellent. The food was top-notch, very good quality. My Swordfish starter in particular was exceptional. The chef came out to greet us as well and we could tell that he really loves his work and talking about food. Five star quality all around no question.

After a delightful lunch on Friday (and previously great experiences), I went with friends to the Sunday Brunch this past Sunday and the experience couldn't have been more different. Sunday brunch was completely disorganized, service was laughable, waiting time was simply unacceptable, hot drinks took more than 15 minutes to arrive, some teas 1 hour to arrive, in excess of 40 minutes to receive the 1st dish and then another 30 minute wait for the second. The issue was not simply the kitchen, but the staff spent more time arranging glasses than serving coffees or teas. Once the food arrived after a terribly long wait (assuming we were still hungry), the dishes were actually quite good, if small. Overall a really sad and disappointing experience. The manager seemed utterly disinterested in the clients. I was particularly suprised regarding the abysmall difference regarding the service and the staff from Friday lunch service to Sunday brunch service, it went from fine dining to brunch at McD. Previous review: Fabulous all-day dining place... delicious brunch and dinner from previous visits. Last week we stopped for a quick coffee before lunch... the staff was super courteous and when I asked if they had a "croissant" they politely indicated they did not have (it was way past breakfast time) but would check with the kitchen... next thing I know, they come back with a basket of the most incredible freshly baked pastries and buns for our table! Truly exceeding expectations!

The restaurant is bad, even if it had less than a star I would have given it The place is elegant and clean, which suggests that everything is excellent The service is slow I fell asleep while I was waiting for breakfast, without the fact that I was scarce in eating I ordered an omelette, a pancake, and avocado toast. It looked like everything except the avocado toast. The pancakes were delicious, but their size was as big as my eyes. Without the omelet, it was as if they were serving children. The portion sizes are very small. The important thing is that I don't know what restaurant it is at, 4 and a half

Excellent food.. excellent service, amazing place in a beautiful hotel. We went looking for this restaurant not knowing it was in the Ritz.... we ended up having lunch here, it's a high end place with high end prices that was filled with ambassadors from countries around the world... not sure we fitted in lol. But we had the risotto, made table side, great service throughout... best risotto we ever had.... it's expensive, but you can taste why. Go on, spoil yourself, we only live once.

Réservation et échanges par mail au préalable pour une grande tablée avec la responsable d’équipe, très professionnelle et agréable. Tout était planifié de l’apéro au dessert. Nous avions réservé pour 20h30. La moitié était à l’heure et l’autre moitié avait 15 minutes de retard, rien de grave, nous n’étions pas pressés. Avant de passer à la suite je tient à re-préciser que nous sommes dans un établissement prestigieux. Avant l’arrivée des retardataires, le serveur responsable de notre table fait une blague sur le retard de certains convives. Ce n’est pas très professionnel mais nous oublions vite. Tout le monde est enfin là quand ce même serveur revient demander les boissons où il fait une énième remarque : “ Eau plate ou eau gazeuse pour les retardataires”. Cela devient très déplacé mais ne ne relève pas. Le chef en personne nous apporte l’apéro en souhaitant un joyeux anniversaire à la personne concernée. Très agréable et chaleureux! Le dîner ce poursuit avec le même serveur qui n’a toujours pas compris où il travaillait puisque qu’il parle aux convives comme s’ils était des amis en faisait des blagues (de mauvais goût). L’entrée arrive (excellente) puis le plat, des pâtes aux homards pour moi. Elles étaient sublimes et je n’ai jamais pu en manger de meilleures malgré mes recherches. Le dessert arrive avec une super ambiance. Tout les desserts étaient très bon. Le pire est à venir. Je n’avais jamais entendu cela et pourtant ma famille est dans le domaine de l’hôtellerie/ restauration. Je demande l’addition et le serveur me l’apporte en disant, je cite: “n’oubliez pas de mettre un très bon pourboire, même pour les retardataires.” Agrémenté d’un bon sourire, il pensait être drôle. J’étais tout simplement outré. C’était la 6ème remarque et c’était déjà trop depuis la 1ère. Je payais pour la totalité de la tablée ce qui représentait une somme déjà bien conséquente. J’ai tout de même laissé près de CHF 100.- de pourboire pour le reste du personnel qui ne méritait pas de subit les conséquences du mauvais élément de l’équipe. Cependant, j’ai spécifiquement demandé aux autres invités de ne rien laisser. Je trouve ça vraiment dommage que cette superbe cuisine puisse être gâche pas un tel comportement. J’espère donc que depuis ma visite vous allez veiller à faire le tri dans votre équipe pour ne garder que l’élite professionnelle digne de respecter les codes de l’hôtellerie. En vous remerciant tout de même. J’écris ce commentaire un petit moment après ma visite puisque j’aimerais retourner dans cet établissement mais je me dois de commenter ma première expérience avant d’émettre un second avis, en espérant vivre une meilleure expérience.

The drinks of course were delicious and served with some lovely complimentary snacks but most of all the staff were amazing. I didn’t catch the name of the lady maître d’ but she was great . The team were very attentive and professional but also very happy and fun and it just made our short experience really special and mémorable. Thank you

I've always had a great experience eating here, but today we walked inside to order the ahi tuna wrap and the Mediterranean omelet. I was really looking forward to eating my omelet, but when we arrived at the park there was no silverware at all! I had no choice but to eat the omelet with my hands because the restaurant does not disclose that they do not provide silverware.

Lovely brunch! The service is friendly and top notch. Food is really really good. I had my best French toast, where they leave custard inside, oozing out as you cut it into pieces. The staff is very child-friendly and would accommodate them with books, special meals and smiles. Also, EXTREMELY reasonably prices for Geneva, and quality. I would go there again and again and again...

I do know I'm just passin' thru and my buddy told me forget those tourist trap spots and go to Dalessandro's.
