Café located on the edge of Appenzell city center, which is open when the weather is good and where you can sit directly by the river. Ice cream / ice cream and coffee are good and an aperitif is also great to enjoy :-) Recommended detour when visiting Appenzell!

Homemade ice cream from a professional! If you want a simple vanilla ice cream or a more unusual type of ice cream at the highest level, this is the right place for you. This gelateria is furnished with a lot of love and is in a quiet location directly on the Sitter in the heart of Appenzell. Worth a visit every summer. In addition to the best homemade ice cream, the service is very courteous and charismatic. It has so far been spared from large crowds of tourists and is therefore a real insider tip. Gladly again....

I had an amazing experience at this super cute café, right by the river in the heart of Appenzell. It is definitely my favorite Gelateria I've been to in Europe. Not only were the prices super affordable, the coffee tasted extremely delicious and the people running the café are just the sweetest people you will ever meet. The café also has so much history and is part of a historical landmark. One of my favorite flavors is the rosemary and ginger one, holy guacamole if I had that everyday for the rest of my life I would still not get sick of it. Also one of the workers, I think his name is Moritz, he was super helpful and patient when I was indecisive about which flavor to get. “Open” sign outside. It also says that it is open in sunny and warm weather. When it's sunny and over 30°C, it's usually closed. Great location, but no ice cream.

We went there for ice cream. Best ice cream I've ever eaten in Switzerland. They also have a large selection of special varieties such as gingerbread ("Biberli"). On top of that, they don't use any artificial colors. I would really like to go here again.
