Food quality is good. Authentic dishes and fair prices relatively to Zurich standards. Chill vibe, clean place.

The rating of 4.4 was very inviting. The service underlined the 4.4 points. Unfortunately the food wasn't to our liking. Dumplings were poorly cooked and too oily, the satay skewers were too flat and small for the price. Szechuan is also very oily and salty. Braised beef brisket was ok.

The best Cantonese restaurant in town. The best dishes including, Pork Belly & Duck. Brought friends here the first time and it was so good (last month) we re-visited again this week. Highly recommend! Super efficient and friendly staff, quick service & quality food. Really grateful. The food feels really wholesome, by a family run business.

Some friends took me there, the place had been recommended to them by a Chinese friend and I 100% recommend it. We ate very well and not particularly expensive for Zurich. Homemade Cantonese food, I will be back soon.

There are 8 of us to come for Chinese food. This elderly lady was so rude in explaining their restaurant rules. She can politely explain to us and we can accept it. Because of this left 4 of us stay back to have our dinner. Like one review stated correctly. We never had this in other Chinese Restaurant in Montreux.

Checked out the wonton noodles to compare with the ones in Asia, and it wasn't disappointing. The noodles were less springy, the wonton skin thicker, the broth lighter, the pork much leaner, and the portion size larger, but the overall taste was authentic wonton noodles. A casual eatery in Zurich’s charming old town district of Niederdorf, lively with bars, clubs, and restaurants in the evenings.

Very tasty food and very, very friendly service. I will be happy to come back and I highly recommend it.

Incredibly clean toilets, great service and the food was great😍

Food was nothing to shout about. Ordered the spicy wanton in chilli oil among others but all I could taste was the thick wanton skin with very little pork & shrimp filling inside them. Also customer service was not good - when taking our orders, the owner arrogantly questioned the quantity of our food order! (We had eaten elsewhere much earlier and were not very hungry, but I didn't think we had to justify with an explanation!).

My mum is an elderly when she was using a tumbler to drink the water. The waitress commented we should not do so as the instructions stated clearly “We are not allowed to consume any form of beverages from outside including our own water bottle”. To us, this is a big nono of a service and there is onions that is not peeled off properly.

This restaurant fully embodies the shameful behavior of the Chinese people who worship foreigners. This family clearly understands Chinese but pretends not to understand. What is even more shameful is that the mother and daughter speak English and pretend to order. I don’t understand. The service to Chinese people can be said to be indifferent to the freezing point. How come even a smile to Chinese people seems to be superfluous and luxurious? But they talked and laughed with foreign guests and even spoke English. After my observation, this fully reflects the Chinese people's behavior of worshiping foreigners and settling abroad. Why did they live abroad for several years and open a snack bar and restaurant? Does that make you a foreigner? My wife and I have been in Zurich for several days. We have eaten at high-end local gourmet restaurants for several days. We wanted to try out the local flavor. The Chinese opened restaurants to support us. We stopped by this snack bar to eat. As soon as we walked in, a young waitress came. From her appearance, we knew she was the boss's daughter. After we ordered our food and drinks, my wife's water bottle happened to be placed on the dining table, but the waitress used it. Ling's tone told my wife to put the kettle back in her bag and not put it on the dining table. Her attitude was really bad. What kind of rule was this? And it was only when we also had some drinks. Compared to what we have never done in foreign restaurants. The waiter treats the foreigners here like this. I didn’t expect to receive such unreasonable treatment when I came to a snack bar owned by a Chinese. He was indifferent and very rude to the guests who were also from China. The snack bar serves foreigners. It can be said that people are extremely chatty and laughing, and the completely different attitudes are really extremely ironic. I don’t recommend this restaurant at all, but you can give it a try. Customers from China will never look down upon you. Halfway through the meal, we asked for additional dishes and even pretended not to understand English and asked them to give us the menu. They even handed us the menu that they had thrown away. We wanted to add a dish but they never came over to order. Damn it, this is such a bad restaurant. I was so angry after eating it. Forget it, I really advise everyone not to come here or else. I was so angry.

Great restaurant in Zurich with delicious food and very friendly service. There is enough seating inside and outside and the food is delivered quickly.

Yay for this Cantonese place in the middle of Zurich! Super friendly, nice outside seating away from the noisy tram line, and of course tasty comfort food. Tried the char siu rice, which was on the sweet side but still very good and made with tender, quality meat.

Ordered 2nd menu... unfortunately we couldn't eat there at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday... so we had to take away... 1 menu wasn't exactly delicious... rather delicious... and the 2nd menu was still wrong only the supplement included

Came for lunch and had the daily soup (corn soup) (it was just 2 chf!) and opted for the tofu with fried veggies lunch set. You get a drink included in the lunch set (20-23 chf) and I ordered oolong unsweetened. The corn soup was divine and perfect for the cold weather. The tofu dish was simple yet rich in flavor. My partner ordered the char siu over rice (not a lunch set option). Although the menu says it takes 10 min to prep maybe in the lunch hour they prepare some beforehand so we didn’t have extra waiting time. All in all, a great experience! Service was fast, efficient and friendly; food was flavorful and well done. We were in and out within 30 min I think. Seems to be a popular place for both tourists and people working nearby. Restaurant was full and those picking up orders were also frequent!

Ich werde kein zweites Mal in dieses Restaurant gehen. Die Kellnerin in diesem Restaurant war sehr unfreundlich zu Asiaten. Deutsch, sprach aber gleichzeitig mit dem Besitzer Kantonesisch. I will not go to this restaurant again. The waitress in this restaurant was very unfriendly towards Asians. She pretended not to understand Chinese and Cantonese, even though she clearly did. She responded to me in German, but spoke Cantonese with the owner. seems to be a significant malice and discrimination against Chinese people I will not go to this restaurant again. The waitress was very rude to us. She obviously understood Chinese and Cantonese, but she pretended not to understand. She answered me in German, but turned to the boss and spoke Cantonese. He has a very bad attitude towards Chinese people, but he greets foreigners with a smile. There seems to be a lot of ill will towards Chinese people here.

Avoid this trap. Their food is tasteless and the young female server is extremely rude. This is a family owned restaurant, the arrogant young waitress seems to be a family member. She should learn her manners before joining a service industry. Btw if you want an extra plate to share your food they will charge you 6CHF.

The young waitress expression is one of the worst. She basically very rude and not working with a professional manner. We ask for an empty glass. We are a group of 8. We have ordered 8 dishes with other many small dishes. We should be more than enough to dine in with a very good experience. However, when we just asked for more glass for our beer. She acted very rude, loud, and asked for 2 CHF per glass! So, not coming back again and NEVER want anyone to experience this!

Great food, pretty good service. I had the lunch special Szechuan beef with 1 spring roll. Spring roll was okay but slightly burnt. Szechuan beef was delicious: pan fried beef, veggies soft on the outside with crunchy middles, slightly fishy sauce. The sweet and sour chicken was also perfect with crispy breading.

I come regularly, quite simply because it’s excellent, plentiful, with great service! In addition, for Zurich the price/quality ratio is very good. I recommend with your eyes closed😉

Good vegan food options and excellent jasmine tea!

I have been coming here for lunch for the good part of a year and can only recommend this place. Great freshly prepared food with healthy portions and many vegan options. (Even a plant based meat option available) Staff is super friendly and delivers service in a timely manner even during peak business. For lunch they offer a starter and two main options (one meat & one vegetarian (mostly vegan)) including a drink for a great price. Can’t beat it.

Our first time in Zurich and we were a bit hungry and wanted to have some food to satisfy our hunger. But we were very unpleasently surprised: We were forced to order at least 1 dish for every person, including children. Otherwise if the dish is for share, we have to pay chf3 for each share dish. Moreover for every additional spoon/fork/plate/chopstick, theres additional charge of chf2. Foods are tasteless (for our standard), portion wasn't big To round up the negativity, the serving waitress looked like having an extremely bad day and showing rude, unhappy gesture. I rarely post a comment. But due to the bad experience, i feel i had to post it this time. Hope this is not the standard for all chinese/Asian restaurant in the city

Set Lunch; Disgusting half cooked Black Bean Pork, dish had circa 6 small slices of Pork with circa 3 Black beans. Cheap Rice Salty low grade dog food. Could not leave quick enough.

So we were in the store with a colleague who was eating and just wanted to wait for him. We were sent out because we didn't order anything. This is the last thing. You can't even wait for your colleague. I won't put up with it.

Warm Chinese food with friendly service. The noodle and soup is tasty, vege is simply fresh. Duck meet is a bit dry and can taste better. But overall still nice place to eat.

Food is alright but staff are unfriendly and rude. On the stingy side, they ask for extra money for any little request, like sauce.

I was a bit skeptical when reading the Google reviews but still proceeded to dine in as I really miss Cantonese food. The food is really good … love the garlic prawn dish, full of umami and so crispy and the fried wan tan… the duck noodles is decent too… the waitress is friendly to us and I would urge people to have some empathy to at least order 1 dish per person to support the humble business … this is something common in Hong Kong and Japan too .. overall we enjoyed the food here very much !

WARNING for all ASIAN who decide to go this place and also for others who don't support discrimination. The waitress of this restaurant will very likely behave rudely and try to ignore you if you are Asian. You can check where and how those low rating from. There is a huge gap of rating between Asian and non-asian. The very funny thing is that the waitress herself is also a Asian. Nothing change after the first feedback 7 months ago. You can see how we are treated when we firstly came here below. The food was delicious and the hostess was very welcoming, but the other waitress made us very uncomfortable. Not only is it a matter of attitude, but there is even "differential treatment". After eating a few times, some things are particularly outrageous. 1. Not a single proactive greeting or greeting when leaving. 2. When we waved to her a few times, just walked by and ignored her. 3. When we were cleaning up our dishes, the chopsticks fell on the floor, and then we actually kicked them away with our feet! Very outrageous! We have compared the above behavior, and it has never been reflected in other guests. I wonder what big mistake has been made that warrants such punishment?

Small restaurant with great food

I’m Asian and this Asian place is more than authentic! Better than a lot of Asian restaurants in Asia and other parts of Europe. Everything was very flavorful and fresh. It’s slightly more expensive than some other Chinese places in Zurich but well worth it with the generous portions. Doesn’t hurt that it’s a family business and they were all super polite and nice. Come eat here!

Quite small Asian place in central Zürich. Prices are very affordable given the location. They have a lunch menu from 11-2, where you get a main with a drink for 19.50 CHF. You can choose a starter for 2 CHF too. We also got a bottle of wine. The service is quick and friendly. A lot of customers came in with dogs. You can pay with card. Overall, highly recommended.

Family atmosphere, super friendly, fantastic food!

Best Chinese food we’ve had in a long time. Four of shared the Vegetable soup (excellent), Spring Rolls, Chicken Curry (very tasty), Scallion- Ginger stir fry w. chicken (excellent), and Buddha Delight (so-so). Small place with 1 very busy server, so be patient. Would definitely come back! Very reasonable also

Disappointed and will not recommend it. Because of good comments on Google Maps, my friend and I decided to come, but from the moment we walked into the restaurant, the young waitress’s attitude was very bad. I ordered Cha Shou rice and my friend ordered a spicy wanton. Then we were “kindly” reminded several times that the wanton dish was a starter so we should order something else. I said we could share the rice (because my friend was not hungry). The young waitress rolled her eyes and told us that we needed to pay extra to get an empty plate. That is something we completely unheard of elsewhere. But we were in Zurich for traveling, so we thought it was the rule here. But in the next few days, we realized it was not. The food was fair, but not as much meat and rice in the bowl. If you were a traveler, you probably wouldn’t get the same service or food. There are plenty of good restaurants in Zurich. You don’t have to waste your money on an average Chinese restaurant and be rolled eyes at by the young waitress. One star for the chef’s hard work. One star for the cashier madam’s smile while paying for the dinner.

Very bad service at this restaurant I had been visit while I'm travel at Zurich by Google search.There are six of you, then you must order six courses of food and you can't order food after when all our members had been order reason for the owner not accept twice order you can't even add food when you need it later 🤦I think moody the owner please don't show your moody to your guest feel stress for such Res 😅 I want to say that if one of them doesn’t want to eat, then none of them can enter that restaurant. This kind of service will not be recommended.

Very fine food, would love to go again

Great classic Chinese food run by a delightful family.

This restaurant provided me with the most bizarre dining out experience ever. My wife and I had quite liked our lunch here earlier, so we decided to drop in for an early dinner the next day. We occupied a table, my wife ordered and as I was not hungry, I didn't order anything. The server, who seemed to be part of the family running the place, said I was obliged to order something, or to leave. There were other vacant tables. I told the server that she was crossing the most elementary norms of customer service, but she stood her ground. We walked out It was the most shocking display of arrogance and high handedness that would be out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant, let alone a hole in the wall.

Me and my family went in the restaurant and had a bad start, the server did not greet us at all just sat us down and gave us menus, since it was a chinese we assumed that she could at least speak chinese or cantonese. my grandpa tried to talk to her using cantonese at first but she didn’t even bother to look at him, first he thought she didn’t understand so he tried chinese but she still didn’t even bother to care, she went away to “clean” another empty table and because we were tourists in a german speaking language for the final try my grandpa asked her if she could speak english, she looked and just shook her head no and walked away. A minute after that two people came in the restaurant (they were probably regulars) and started talking to her in english and she greeted them properly and happily and REPLIED BACK in english when she said no to speaking english to us. I am not here to talk about the food because we don’t even bother to try with really bad service, what kind of hospitality is practiced here? Would really not recommend.

We were visiting and looking for some good Asian food and decided to give this place a shot bc of the other reviews we read. We are glad we did. It is a small family owned restaurant that was consistently full the whole time we were there. I had the char siu and it was very good. Service was great. Definitely recommend.

Just had some lunch here, ordered Braised pork rice and a bowl of noodle. I personally like the food taste. However the service was horrible. 30 Dec 2022 on rainy day, served by a young lady in black shirt, she was really mean, she throwed away the plates in front of us and deliver the food angrily. I asked for chili sauce and an empty bowl and throwed in front of me, like implying that such a bother to her. Finally, we just ate as fast as we can and depart soon from the restaurant. Hope to see more improvements from her. It just a shame of having nice food but bad service.

Delicious food. We tried spicy wontons, noodles which were very good. Although, our other dish pork belly was served deep fried and had small bony pieces. Staff was too rushed to ask why :) get in early as the place is small and gets full quickly.

Visited the restaurant on 30 December 2022 at 14.30. The food was okay, we ordered wonton noodle and braised pork rice. But the waitress with glasses was really rude that it gave us a really bad impression overall. You should teach your waitress how to behave and serve customers

Expensive for the average food quality and terrible service. Waitress was rude and not willing to provide a full set of disposable cutlery for take-away. I had to negotiate to get two sets of fork and spoon for two dishes and she finally gave in but muttered "so troublesome". Will not return again.

The food is very good and the portions are so filling that you fill up well. The food was also ready and on the table very quickly. The service was friendly and nice. We felt comfortable here and are happy to recommend it. Only the ambience is not quite what we imagine, very simple, but we would come back just for the food.

One day in Zurich, I searched on google and found this long wei restaurant. If it ordered water, the food portions would be larger, but if it didn't, the food portions would be small. And then forget about the food not being delicious! The service attitude of the staff is very bad and unfriendly!

TERRIBLE SERVICE, not friendly at ALL! This is the 1st and last to visit this horrible shop! Please think twice before visit!!!

Not allow food sharing if not ordering drinks, not respect to the customer request. Pls do not visit this shop, definitely to spoil your experience in Zurich.

bad attitude, below average taste

I am amazed at the very fresh meals. Above all, the vegetables are super fresh and delicious. The fried rice with shrimps was the best I've had so far. Food came express. Communication with the service in English. I like to give 5 stars.

I was comptemplating to write this review or not. As it might affect a restaurant reputation and affect a business. Finally I decided to write because I am writing to caution other visitors. 2 Nov 2022 Long Wai restaurant. Many reviews gave 4-5 stars. In my opinion no star for service. Food wise unable to review. Let me relate my experience. We were there for lunch because of the many positive reviews. We entered the restaurant, a young chinese lady usher us to sit down and distribute the menu. All done without eye contact nor conversation with her. We sat down and after 5 mins, the same lady approached us to have our order. The previous review mentioned the owner was from Hong Kong and able to converse in Cantonese. So I decided to order in Cantonese. The young lady totally ignore my Cantonese order and replied to me in swiss and I had to switch to English to complete my order. Again no eye contact from her during the whole ordering process. She was staring into space. We ordered 1 drink, 1 appetizer and 1 main. She refused my order and said, Lunch time each person must order a full meal (that consists of 1 appetizer, 1 main & 1 drink). You cannot order 1 full meal to share with another person. I told her, we cannot finish the food, as it is too much for us and hence we share. She replied rudely with a no and took back the menu immediately. My wife was upset by her unruly behaviour, bad attitude and decided to leave the restaurant. I too got up and left with my wife. I can accept the fact she don’t speak cantonese. However her attitude, her no eye contact, her rudeness and the restaurant unusual lunch time rule to me is totally unacceptable. Owner of the restaurant, a pity I never have the chance to meet you. The experience might reverse if you are there. We both can converse in Cantonese and I am sure you definitely understood ‘hospitality’ better than that young lady. Note: Google does not allow zero star posting. As such I have to select 1 star.

Very good Chinese food. Simple but very tasty. Lo Mein was the 2nd best that I ever had and I eat a lot of noodles. Sweet and sour pork with vegetables was great: no breading in it like in the USA, and I have discovered the breading over powers the sauce and the pork's intrinsic taste. Would highly recommend. Quick service was a nice surprise. Appears to be family run by people who care.

My friend and I had dinner at Long Wai last night. We ordered two noodle soups, one mapo tofu, and two lychee wines. One lychee was floating in the drink, and the other wasn’t. The drink tasted too fermented. We didn’t eat anything else that night, but when we got home, we had food poisoning. We puked and had fevers all night. Would not go again.

I hate to leave a bad review but our disappointing experience here a few weeks ago left a bad taste for a while. We ate here in the pre-covid days quite often and absolutely loved the food and friendly 'family-like' service. Going back again was a rather different experience. We ordered the crispy duck which had been wonderful before but this time was not crispy at all and the skin was pink (We can only assume food colouring which we really try and avoid). It was really not so tasty. The chilli oil was also extremely peculiar - it was delicious before - but now tasted as if sugar and cinnamon had been added - a very strange combination of tastes. All in all so disappointing and made worse by some very frosty service. It's hard to understand the reason for the change (as it was exactly the same staff and food order as before). I do hope that they take this feedback on board and make changes.

The food is mediocre. We ordered two dishes. I Asked an extra bowl for sharing my food with my wife. 2.00 more Swiss franc showed on my bill for the bowl, Crazy! The waitress looks unfriendly.
