Ach'i in Zürich

I came here on a whim, and I am so glad that I did. The service was great! The food came out surprisingly fast—even at dinner time. I am definitely coming again the next time I’m in Zurich.

Authentic Chinese, good food, pretty crowded and loud. Maybe cuz it was crowded and loud, but the staff is a bit impatient, very straightforward, won’t be caring. Ok but not very welcoming experience.

As always, the food was very good, but the service was disastrous. At 8:30 p.m. I was very rudely informed that they close at 10 p.m. Since I was still waiting for someone, I was again very rudely informed that it was closing at 8:45 p.m.

We loved it so much that we visited two days in a row. Every dish is absolutely authentic and delicious. The service is quick and efficient.

👍🏼 The fried rice portion was fulfilling. 👍🏼 Grandpa who delivered the food to our table was caring and nice. 👍🏼 Good location. 👎 The old lady who served us was a bit impatient and not polite. We asked about the tea and she had this upset tone of voice when she explained it. She then stood around if not next to us, at first I thought she just wanted to check on the customer, but when she kept eyeing us and picked up the dirty plate as soon as we finished eating, that's where we feel annoyed. 👎 The foods was meh, added it with the old lady attitude. We only ate it because we were hungry, even with that the food didn't feel tasty. 👎 Pricey for a not fantastic taste. 👎 The lights were too dim, as people still need to read the menu, so best is to make it brighter.

The dining experience was exceptional, especially the duck, which was served with perfectly crispy skin yet tender meat. Both the ambience of the restaurant and the service were of high quality and contributed to an overall pleasant stay. Given the general price levels in Zurich, the restaurant's prices were surprisingly reasonable and therefore represent excellent value for money."

Sweet sour pork was way more sweeter than my coca cola.. and 0% sourness… just not eatable.. 29chf is not possible.. Dumplings was good Service partly good and partly bad

Very good chinese food at zürich at a somewhat affordable price for city standards. I really enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken, it comes very crispy and the sauce is perfect! The staff is super quick and most importantly just kind and helpful. The Ambience of the restaurant is comfy just make sure to reserve a table if u wanna make sure that u get a spot since its quite crowded but as a group of two we were served quickly also without reservation.

Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the food. At first the dishes were served very chaotically (the main courses sometimes came before the starters). In addition, the duck was very dry and the selection of vegetarian dishes was very small. The service is really bad, we had the feeling they wanted to get rid of us as quickly as possible. I cannot recommend the store and will not return...

The restaurant ambiance was pleasant, creating a comfortable dining atmosphere. However, the overall experience was hindered by the quality of the food, which fell short of expectations. Additionally, the attentive service from employees, while well-intentioned, became somewhat intrusive with frequent check-ins every five minutes. Finding the right balance between attentiveness and allowing diners to enjoy their meal without interruption could enhance the overall dining experience.

Properly incredible. One of the best asian cuisine I had the last years! Friendly staff, great mood, loved it! Careful though, those peppers in the menu don't lie, spicy means spicy. If you are not used to it, it might be surprising. However the restaurant is aware of that and is also able to provide way spicier variants of the same meal for thise spicy food lovers. Very copious portions and very fairly priced. Absolutely loved it. Sorry, Ach'i, i can not put 6 stars. You'd deserver them!

A chaotic restaurant with large tables, you often end up eating with unknown people. The service is quick. The food is good but overpriced given the hectic atmosphere and simple decor. Rice isn't even included. There are better options in Zurich for this price. I will not return.

Ordered food via Uber Eats after hearing good reviews from Reddit. But sadly even a basic dish such as sweet and sour chicken was really really disappointing

I decided to invite my bumble date to this restaurant. We met at Helvetiaplatz, talked, and walked. When we arrived at the restaurant, the place was packed. We decided to go in and ask for a table for two. They sat us at a table shared between two groups of friends: terrible decision. There was so much noise between conversations and laughter that it became impossible for us to speak. I started eating as fast as I could trying to end this ordeal. Anxiety began to hit me from within. In the end, I had to ask the lady serving to put my plate to go, and I watched my date finish hers while trying to survive a conversation that was becoming impossible. Yes, I didn't go out with her again, but every time I can I come back to this place to eat her Pad Thai.

I've been going there for the last 5 years. The food is always amazing and the service great. Tip top! I recommend it to everyone. The pictures in the menu underestimate the real dishes, I'm always positively surprised with the food I've ordered. The portions are really big and super tasty. My favourite restaurant in Zürich.

Ordered via Uber-Eats, a huge drama!! We ordered 3 dishes. 2x with meat & 1 vegetarian. 3 dishes with beef arrived and it was not possible to sort it out😂😂😂 a really big disaster

We had our first dinner here, ordered a tofu veggie soup and a mango chicken. Food was well portioned. Mango chicken was a bit sweet. For Zurich, this is better than all of the Chinese food I had elsewhere in the city.

It’s better because of the portion size. I order the spicy duck at the back of the menu which looks like Chinese food. I haven’t tried this dish in China but it is amazing. There is a layer of very sweet spicy sauce and the duck meat is marinated and delicious. The whole thing is very fragrant. Disadvantages It is a side dish of vermicelli. The Chinese cabbage is too small and will be covered with oil. It tastes good but is too oily...My mouth gets dry every time I finish eating it, but again, it is better in terms of price and portion size.

One of the only authentic Chinese restaurants in Zurich city. You order and receive the food in the next 10 minutes. The food is really very good, the back part of the menu is recommended. The front part of the menu is more for Europeans (which you can find in every Asian resto), the back part is great Chinese food 😍 Restaurant is usually full, reserve a place if there are more than 2 people. I think the ambience of them is pretty cool as there are sharing tables! I often come by for take away!

Overall a nice place and the food was tasty (with several vegan options). Prices are also good for Zürich. It's always very crowded, so a reservation would be convenient.

I'm no expert on Chinese food, but coming from an expert, the dishes have authentic flavours. I found everything really delicious, the staff really kind and attentive, and the atmosphere nice. There are many tables, there are no small tables, so if there are two of you, you sit next to other people at a table. Cute as a concept! I can't wait to return to try other dishes!

This beautiful place is so much recommended to dine in. We celebrated my husband's birthday there ,such lovely people and amazing food. A special thanks to Oma-Jaklin(v well known as Grandma) for being so lovely to us and for all the love and care you gave us. A memorable evening well spent.

I was just there with my 3 children, we had edamame that was really good and at the same time veggie spring rolls that tasted like oil. This was followed by sweet and sour chicken, which was definitely not sweet and sour but rather a cheap ketchup variant. The crispy beef tasted the best, but looked extremely unappetizing. Last but not least, the chicken mango sauce that was recommended to me, which was absolutely disgusting and hard to beat...complete taste chaos. On the whole everything was completely unfriendly and vultures with soy and spicy rum. Never ever again Fried plain rice and edamame were the best thing we were offered for 95 chf.

Menu number 50. crispy beef? there was hardly any beef to be seen. I felt like I hadn't eaten much rice with fried dough and sugar syrup. for a good 25chf

Seasoning is overdone, cold tofu in hot dish, and the boy waiter can have better attitude when asked for service.

One of the best places in town for Chinese food that is consistently reliable and so delicious. They are always insanely busy but if your group is small enough 2-4 perhaps you can get lucky with being seated without a reservation. They have a ton of dishes (including many vegetarian dishes!) and are also happy to make dishes vegetarian (e.g. the mapo tofu). Service is fast and efficient and all the waiters are so nice and happy to recommend dishes if you ask. Highly recommend. You and your stomach will be happier for it!!

Very tasty food with high quality-to-price ratio

Today we spontaneously had dinner at Ach‘i. The atmosphere was pleasant, sociable and no frills, the service was very quick and friendly and we really enjoyed the food! We'd love to come back.

Our experience at Achi was shameful. We arrive at noon, we order 2 waters while we look at the menu, they bring us the waters and leave them aside. A waitress passes by and takes our order, my friend who is allergic to nuts makes sure that nothing we have ordered contains nuts and the waitress tells her that EVERYTHING is cooked with peanut oil... my friend He asks her again and she tells him that except for the youzas and the steamed things, EVERYTHING!! My friend and I looked amazed that in a restaurant they cook with something so allergic for a very high percentage of the population and that it is not listed anywhere on the menu! As if that were not enough, we politely tell them that we cannot eat there and the woman does not say that we have to pay for the water (the water that is untouched). We tell her that we have not touched it and that we are not staying for a compelling reason and that We do not agree with having to pay for them and the woman, very rude, stands up and tells us that it is our problem and that we have to make sure before sitting down somewhere that we can eat. We pay for the water because we have more education than her, but I will not tire of posting reviews so that whoever reads it thinks before sitting in a restaurant with these characteristics. A shame €11 for 2 waters that we didn't even try, so I don't recommend anyone to sit here, nothing more than a deal!!

The food was partly very good and partly very bad Instead of 8 pieces, only 6 spring rolls were delivered. Tofu was delivered instead of chicken. And the satay was dripping with oil. Even the fried rice was nothing to write home about. It was exactly the same as normal rice except that there was egg mixture mixed in. The hoisin sauce had 1/3 only oil and was not edible.

After eating it, Chinese people said that the Guobao Pork is not generally unpalatable. If calculated based on the average standards of Northeastern cuisine, I would give it one star for hygiene. At least I didn’t have diarrhea...

Tasty food and good proportions, but the place was very crowded and in general noisy.

First of all, I don't know the taste, but the portion was very large. I thought the taste was good. They say it has less of a Chinese flavor than what you get in China, but it seems to be adequate for Korean tastes. The menu in the picture is like some kind of braised beef, and it serves about 1.5 people.. Are they called spring rolls? I ordered it with something like fried food, but I had some left over.

The food is great. Unfortunately, the seating with the large tables is anything but optimal. At the tables you have zero privacy and are thrown together with strangers. Small tables that could be pushed together/apart if necessary would be a much better solution.

We visited Ach'i on a spontaneous Saturday afternoon and are sure we will be back. The extensive menu offers a wide selection of dishes and drinks. It only took 5-10 minutes from ordering to serving our food. This is definitely an example of exceptionally fast service. And the food? Simply incredibly delicious! Ach'i is definitely one of the best Asian restaurants I've ever visited.

Good food and very quick service. Price is ok, I would have preferred slightly cheaper. The atmosphere is easygoing, full of people, with shared tables. So, I recommend it, unless you are looking for a quiet place.

It is very sad to witness how the quality in terms of service and food of this restaurant has dropped throughout the last years.. I use to be a regular. My last experiences were disappointing. To mention some if you order duck, you get mostly skin, try ordering a delivery and with the “buy 1 get two” promotion youll and you’ll end up getting only one (and forget about getting sauces and additional items…)

Ach'i is one of my favorites when it comes to Asian cuisine. The dishes are very authentic, the service is extremely prompt and the prices are very fair. A reservation is recommended as it is often busy.

Was in Zurich for one day and decided to have dinner here at Achi. Best decision I could have made! The food is absolutely incredible! The flavors are so good and authentic. It is way better than anything comparable back in the States. Had ordered the beef with pepper sauce as well as beef in homemade spicy sauce under authentic recipes. It was to die for! The only bad part is I can't get food from here all the time! Haha Highly recommend if you are looking for Asian cuisine while in Zurich! The staff is also very good, they will take great care of you!

Good Chinese food. Dim sum and pork belly were delicious.

Pan-fried pork dumplings were good. The lamb in the other dish was like that typical meat in Chinese restaurants, which is way too soft. Only God knows what they soak it in.. also, the meat looks uncooked and doesn't taste like it has ever been in a wok. I'm a bit disappointed, last time was better.

Today we visited the restaurant as we come here most of the time. Today there was a service lady, a mole on her face, such rude service. I have never met such service women, we ordered the dishes and asked how many dishes ordered so far and we asked them to be sure that we did not order the same dish again. Then he was so rude, said first decide and then tell me, with this long rude face, almost like he was scolding us. But a service man came and took care of it. Service women have at least a little respect for the customer. All we ask for is a little, good service and good food.

The food was very good and came pretty fast!

We entered the local and got ready to order, but since I'm allergic to peanuts, the waitress and all the personnel reacted aggressively and strangely. They told me to leave because peanuts are used throughout the restaurant (I suppose peanuts oil). It was a terrible experience, and I felt really sorry for my friends because they couldn't eat there just because of me. I believe that nowadays restaurants should know how to handle such cases and offer alternative solutions, such as using different types of oil for cooking. I hope that things can change in the future.

Authentic Chinese cuisine. The dishes from North-East China on offer are highly recommended!

Best Chinese in a long time, very friendly service!

We came here yesterday for lunch. The service was surprisingly fast and the food was amazing! We had the menus options. The crispy duck was one of the best duck dishes I’ve ever had. Will definitely come again!

The food here is completely Chinese food that caters to foreigners' tastes. This dish of Kung Pao water spinach shocked me even more. It opened up a new world of dark cuisine. The taste is indescribable... Business is booming, but 90% of them are foreigners, and tables are constantly turning over, which makes the dining experience very rushed. It was obvious that the waiter wanted you to leave quickly. I didn’t even put down my chopsticks. Someone came and we finished our meal. I was a little speechless... The overall cost-effectiveness is also very low, not recommended.

Delicious Asian restaurant behind Helvetiaplatz. I've been living in Zurich for 7 years and Ach'i is always full! The shrimp with leek was very tasty. We celebrated a birthday and were a large group. Everyone shared and received the food at the same time. Great service and enjoy the atmosphere. I always like to come back.
