L'Osteria in Biel/Bienne

Came here for the first time last week and it immediately became my favourite restaurant in town! Great food and a lovely staff, particularly Vera, such a nice girl. Will come back soon for sure :)

The food was good, but the service was rude right from the start, making us wait for 5 minutes even though everything was free. Didn't uncover any cutlery after ordering, food came in 3 rounds, everyone ate separately. The salad would be served as dessert. In addition, when the food arrived we ordered 3 colas that never arrived at the table. However, when we wanted to pay, you were on the bill. The waitress had three stripes tattooed on her chest, definitely in the wrong job.

Often come to l'Osteria on Mondays and have never been disappointed. Whether pizza or pasta, the restaurant is always a good and inexpensive choice. However, l'Osteria is known far beyond Biel for its pizzas ;)

During my visit to L'Osteria in Biel, I was enchanted by the warm hospitality and the authentic Italian ambience. The food, especially the heavenly pizza and pasta cooked perfectly al dente, was a feast of flavors, fresh and authentic. The excellent service rounded off the culinary experience perfectly. L'Osteria is a must for every lover of Italian cuisine in Biel!

1st visit: Antipasti (Grilled vegetables, Grana Padano DOP, Mozzarella, Cipolle, Salame Tronchetto Milano, olives with stone, dried Italian ham). More attentive and friendly servers would have been a plus. 2nd visit and last visit: 2 “pizzas” We no longer recommend this place! Deplorable service, drink order is not respected. Large pizza certainly but not much on it. The pizzas arrived lukewarm and therefore quickly cold. The plates are small and not suitable. The pizza overflows on the table.... Not very hygienic. We ask to take away the rest, the pizzas are vulgarly folded in a bag. When paying, they insist that we pay in cash, without showing us the bill and without giving us a ticket. There is a real staffing problem in this place.

I was there on Saturday evening (10.02) with two friends, the restaurant manager was very nice and super fast. All the staff are prepared and friendly. Excellent service, truly excellent and plentiful pizza. It's not as expensive as local and the quality is superb! Well done, I will definitely be back

We wanted to reserve a table by telephone (dishonest person) telling us that we had to book on their website and this person hung up on us. Slow service, staff were not responsive, we almost paid the bill for the table next to us because the waitress didn't look closely at her tablet. Good point for the dishes which were not bad.

Disappointing service. The blunders made by the staff were very, very numerous.

The food and the ambience were top. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired... two dishes that were ordered were forgotten and were brought immediately when asked, so that can happen. We were allowed to enjoy the pizzas without cutlery (fortunately they were very tasty). Oil and pepper were also forgotten, but they were asked when we asked whether we would still get cutlery. Plates were never cleared away and we had the impression that we were completely ignored because we actually wanted to order a dessert/coffee despite everything... That didn't happen anymore, it was too annoying for us that everything was always on request Something happened to us and we never asked if we wanted to order anything else. (Could have been done while clearing the plates) Our guess: the restaurant is full to capacity, but not enough service staff. Very unfortunate...

The very large pizza was really tasty but only order pizza if you are very hungry. Service was very friendly and I found it very comfortable in the restaurant itself. The prices are also completely reasonable.

Ate very good pizza here. It only took 6 minutes and the food was brought to our table. The pizza had plenty of ingredients and was delicious. There is 1 star deduction for the service because we had to ask three times to pay.

General restaurant very good, but service has been very weak for about 2 months and today January 29th, 2024 at 5:45 p.m. the employee named Abdel was catastrophic and even wanted to sort out the problems outside with customers! The food is OK. Spaghetti sauce was very greasy. Service is terrible, we had to wait 2 hours for our food. After 1.5 hours we asked and were told another 5 minutes. We then waited another 30 minutes and were about to leave the restaurant. Apologies were scant. Dirty dishes are everywhere. Service seems overwhelmed and annoyed. It was also very cold in the restaurant. Finally, we ordered a dessert, the beloved chocolate cake with mango sorbet. Was served with the wrong sorbet. That was the icing on the cake. This was our third time at l'Osteria, always hoping that it would be better next time. Today was definitely the last time we were there. A pity

We used to go to the restaurant often, including this weekend. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The music system was set way too loud. The waitress forgot our orders several times and our waiting time increased enormously. The pizza was okay, but the toppings were saved.

I wanted to celebrate my birthday with 15 people at Losteria. I made a reservation for this 3 days in advance. When we arrived, we weren't there yet, but we still ordered a round of drinks. After the other guests arrived, they had to wait almost 30 minutes for their drink. When ordering the food, people asked if it would be okay if the starters and main courses came at the same time. We had no problem with that. However, we asked if it was okay to bring the pizza for the 4 year old boy first. Then after 40 minutes a starter was delivered and my main course but not my starter. Our 4 year old boy had to wait another 40 minutes for his pizza and the other main courses to arrive. When everyone had eaten, I asked about the Pruscetta we had ordered and the waiter rushed into the kitchen and came back with Pruscetta. These were inedible! The bread wasn't toasted, there was no salt or basil on it and the bread was soggy and wet... I sent it back and refused to pay! The waiter apologized but didn't offer a solution and you could tell how tense the atmosphere between the team was. At the end, the dishes were not cleared away nor was anyone asked for dessert or coffee etc. It was a disaster and extremely unpleasant for me as a newborn child! It was the last time I was in this restaurant! I understand a lot of things, but if I make reservations for 15 people 3 days in advance, I expect that there will be enough staff ready to serve properly! I'm extremely disappointed!

We had Christmas dinner there... when we arrived at 8 p.m. we were only allowed to order at 10 p.m. and eat at 10:40 p.m.... we almost starved... the drinks came relatively quickly but we had to spend 45 minutes looking at the wine because we didn't have any We only received wine glasses after a complaint...the table wasn't cleared of all the empty bottles before the meal...after all, I did it myself...and it was way too loud because of the music...you had to yell at each other. .I would definitely not recommend anyone to book there in a large group..I was very disappointed with the Christmas party.

We made reservations in advance for 10 people. That evening we waited 30 minutes for our reserved table and after we were seated, unfortunately no waiter came to take our drink order for 25 minutes until we asked. The whole thing was disorganized and we didn't feel like we were being taken seriously. However, the food was still good.

We had food delivered to our house, a pizza and pasta. When we got the food everything was cold. The toppings on the pizza were all in one corner and no longer on the pizza. The pasta was inedible for both of us. We have ordered there many times and the food has always been very good. That's why I decided to call them and clarify this. When I explained what my problem was I was told "that's not our problem" and I would be hung up. I did the whole thing twice, the third time I asked the boss. He didn't speak to me and just hung up. The food was very good except for one thing, but the way you deal with a paying customer is terrible!!! Unprofessional and cheeky so I recommend everyone, take your money to a place where professionals work and the customer is valued.
