Lou's Restaurant & Bar in Zürich

The food was excellent, the service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was very relaxed! We're looking forward to coming back.

We went for brunch on Saturday. It was really excellent, we were all very satisfied with the delicious dishes and the super nice service from a very friendly young woman in a purple hat. 🫶 Overall great and nice atmosphere with music and the many plants. 👌 Waffles 🧇 super fluffy!

Incredible!! We were looking for authentic USA food for a long time and found it at Lou's. The food is very tasty, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. We have already taken the restaurant to our hearts. We'd love to come back!

The incredibly delicious and tasty food is only topped by the extremely friendly and attentive staff. It's always nice when the boss - who himself serves his guests very courteously - still finds time to exchange a few sentences about the current sporting events between Negroni & Pastrami. The Buffalo Cauliflower Wings as well as the Pastrami Classic and Reuben are top notch. One of the best things I've ever tasted. Next time we'll try brunch! 10/10, very happy and very soon!

Great spot for brunch (American menu) in Wiedikon! The staff was prompt and always friendly. Ambiance is relaxed due to the staff and facility. Coffee is good, the food is very tasty - the grilled cheese is recommended (pastrami bagel is also good)!!!!

We were here for brunch. The food was very good and the price/performance ratio was right. It is also a cozy restaurant with fast and very friendly service. I'll definitely be back.

If I could give 6 stars, I would. The meals were soooo good it blew our minds. It truly is american comfort food. Had the cauliflower wings. Superb! The chicken with waffles was amazing! The ribs were grand - The meat just fell off the bone. So tender! Best mac'n'cheese I ever had. We had to wait a bit long, since it was full, but besides that, the service was good and the staff was friendly. The food was worth the wait. I will definitely go to Lou's again! That was one of the top dinner experiences I had in Zurich.

Amazing food, great service, beautiful restaurant. The server did an excellent job explaining the menu and was detailed about how they prepared and cooked their meats. I got the chicken & waffles with the classic mac & cheese as the side. The chicken was very tender and juicy. Didn't even need a knife to cut into it. The breading was still crisp and not too greasy, pairing well with the hot honey that is served with it. The waffles were fluffy, and they were the right portion for the plate. The mac & cheese was very good, baked with some bread crumbs, but definitely not dried out as some baked macs can be. Definitely still ooey and gooey. I personally paired the meal with a lager because I'm boring, but they have many more exciting mixed alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks on their extensive drink menu you should explore for yourself.

Food: Unfortunately our pancakes weren't fully cooked. As an apology, the service staff offered us drinks. Service: Attentive and friendly service staff Atmosphere: Nice decor, but the background noise was so loud for me and my companion that we sometimes couldn't understand each other when we were talking.

Best brunch I’ve had in zurich, food was 10/10, food came a bit slow but we were a big group of 8. Everyone commented on how good the food was and they would all go again. Recommend booking, we arrived at 1430 and it was packed. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Also Dog friendly! 👌

One word: Mac 'n' Cheese! Love it! As was read in a restaurant review in the Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich: “We have never tasted the mac'n'cheese made from maccheroni with homemade sauce made from four cheeses so well, even in the USA.” I can only agree. Also nice service and cozy furnishings.

We had dessert and drinks. Service was really slow and while we understand it was a weekend, we saw our drinks waiting to be picked up at the bar for so long and it was a bit annoying. The dessert took so long to come out as well.

I was excited to see a place that billed itself as serving "American comfort food." The service was great, it was a decent meal and nice experience, but any comfort that it might have provided was driven away by the eye-watering prices - even by Zurich standards. This is often the case at restaurants here: what should be simple, tasty staples from other places in the world (and indeed, are marketed by the restaurant as such!), are erroneously elevated to exotic luxuries, with an appropriately high price tag. I love chicken parmigiana. Having spent a lot of time in New York and eaten a lot of it there, I might say that it's even one of my favorite dishes. I'll give it you, Lou - chicken parm is hard to come by here and you serve a decent approximation of it. But the fried chicken thigh was dried out, the cheese mix wasn't quite right (what, no mozzarella? you gotta be kiddin' me), and portion was small considering the almost CHF 30 cost. To be clear - I didn't walk away hungry, just felt slightly taken for a ride. The chicken and waffle suffered a similar fate - they were fine, but neither chicken nor waffle tasted like it was particularly freshly prepared. Lou's is worth a visit purely for the hard-to-come-by-in-these-parts American classics, and nice atmosphere and service (our wait person was particularly enthusiastic and friendly). But be prepared to pay silly prices and accept middling quality, especially if you're comparing it with the 'real thing.' Assuming that the quality-price-quantity ratio remains the same ... would I eat at Lou's again? Fuhgeddaboudit.

We went there for brunch for the first time today. Everything we tried tasted very good and was good. The staff was super attentive and very friendly. Last round of food ordering and last round of drink ordering was canceled. We were also made aware that it closed at 2, but were allowed to remain seated, which was very nice. People were still able to finish the Saturday brunch. The only suggestion for improvement, if at all possible, is that the noise level is too high for my taste. It was nice to have brunch in a multi-cultural atmosphere. You have remodeled/decorated the store beautifully. I remember the predecessor well. I'd love to come back. Greetings✨🍄🌷

Wow! The vegan sourdough bread with chia seeds and berry compote is out of this world. I would have liked the “breakfast fries” to come with cinnamon instead of paprika. But otherwise everything was super tasty. Nice personel. But at some point the music got pretty loud, so much so that you almost had to shout at each other. That was the time for us to go.

The hostess/Server Catherina (Spanish) was phenomenal! Her personality was great and she was very accommodating. She was knowledgeable of the menu and was the best server I’ve had in Zürich! We hope to see her in Miami sometime!

Well first really bad experience of Zurich but service and logic of server and attitude was unbelievable. The waiter took our orders at 7 pm and food didnt arrive till 8:20 pm. At 7:40 pm she herself came to apologise that food is a bit late and coming soon. When asked at 8:00 pm about food, she said you ordered starter and that’s y order is supposed to be late. We ordered one starter for table of 4. And when I reminded her that she came herself and said “food is coming soon and apologies for the delay” she started questioning that I never said “coming soon”. In between that she was making rounds and checking on every table and deliberately ignoring us. Not even once she checked on us inspirer of checking on every table under her for the evening. And the evening anyways started weirdly when she took our orders , she came back after 10 mins that she lost the order and needs to be reminded again. And to top it all she came to our table and said u really cant ask about the food and complained to my friends I was rude , coz I called her out lying or asked for a service which was technically her job. Yes they offered free desserts and we appreciate it but after so much drama and diva attitude. Surely never returning to this place. Zurich surely has better restaurants with better attitude employees.

Fantastic Reuben Sandwich, great service, good vibes

Very nice atmosphere, friendly waiters but the food and drinks were not up to par. We went to brunch and they served supermarket Lipton tea which was not expected considering the price and the chicken burger was burnt and you could tell by the taste. The pancake was delicious.

We chose it for brunch. We had a reservation in advance and a large table was set that we could fit in easily. This made us happy because we were with children. Everything we ate was very good. Especially chicken waffles and pancakes with milk jam are wonderful. Prices are reasonable according to portions and taste.

The staff was really helpful and willing to change my reservation -last minute! They were friendly but unfortunately not so attentive! I guess they need more staff on a busy day like Sunday! I was expecting more from good, to be honest! It was ok! The place is definitely kid-friendly! It has a kid's corner, a kid's menu option, and a place to change the baby’s diaper! I would give it a second chance and I hope next time My rating will be 5*.

We celebrated our birthday at Lou’s. We were a large group (35 people). The service was unbeatable. We had to wait a very short time for the food and everything came almost at the same time. Our orders were taken immediately and always processed very quickly. The team at Lou's was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is amazing but we already knew that, which is why we chose this place for our party. I can definitely recommend this restaurant for a party or brunch in a small group!

The service was very good and attentive. The starter (Pimento Cheese Dip) was great. Unfortunately, of the main courses (Guac Burger, Lou's Sticky Ribs, Reuben), only the ribs were convincing. Burger was overcooked and the Reuben wasn't juicy enough (like Bros Beans and Beats). Wine also not good (chosen), but that's a matter of taste.

Restaurant with a good atmosphere, clean, decorated with pleasant details. Excellent service. Very good attention from the first moment. The waiter spoke several languages ​​making communication fluid. He made recommendations and provided suggestions so that we could enjoy the food at all times. We ordered the two types of burgers they had for brunch and fries, which were a total success. We wanted pancakes for dessert but they didn't have them. We ordered waffles and they were delicious. The only drawback is the price, quite high for those of us who go on tourism and are not used to them.

If you’re looking for soul-warming comfort food, this is the place to go. Every dish we ordered was phenomenal, the service was the best we’ve had in Zurich, and the restaurant’s ambiance was warm, cozy, and inviting while also trendy and fun. We’re so glad we stopped by and we’ll definitely be back the next time we find ourselves in Zurich!

The Food is amazing! Lous smashed Burger was definitely our absolute favorite! One of the best burgers I’ve tried in Zurich for sure! Service as always so friendly and diligent. The ambient was very nice and so beautiful decorated! The prices are great as well and quality beyond great.

We had a lovely evening at Lou's. Service is quick and friendly. I think the combination of sweet and salty is great. The dishes are presented simply, reduced to the important things. The quality of the dishes are top. The dishes tasted good and everything was juicy. Unfortunately I was also missing something: Especially when there is a lot of meat, I miss the fresh components that make the dishes a little lighter. In terms of taste, the dishes become a bit dull in terms of taste. More freshness to counteract the fried food. (Lemon / fresh cucumber salad / fresh cabbage salad without fat components). I love burgers medium/medium rare, especially with the quality of the meat, which is noticeable. If I offer so much bread, it would be cool if you also had real sharp knives (steak knives would be trumps) and the black Viktorinox kitchen knife with serrations would also be ok. Unfortunately, none of the dishes really impressed me. But I'm sure there are fans of your dishes. When it comes to taste, everything is a bit subjective.

We had brunch there but the value for money was disappointing. The staff was friendly, but not particularly attentive. It was quite loud in the restaurant.

Very tasty American food, the pictures don't do the taste justice! 😍 The chicken waffle and burger are very tasty and so is the mac & cheese. We didn't quite understand why there were a few slices of pickles everywhere, but they were delicious. 😂 Very nice service. The only small thing we noticed was the chairs, which were a little too high next to the tables for our taste to sit comfortably.

The food was solid but not overwhelming. I was quite disappointed with the drinks - this was the smallest cappuccino cup I've ever seen in my life. One less sip and it could have been an espresso cup. :-)

'Buffalo Cauliflower Small' might be too big as per one person. 'Lou's Smashed Beef Burger' is dry, poor presentation. Tables are so tightly spaced you end up sitting closer to the stranger beside you than your own dining partner.

The service at Lou's is excellent. Everyone is very friendly and well-positioned. The prices are fair and the portions are large. On my first visit I wasn't so impressed with the food and then wrote a review via email. The owner then contacted me, apologized and invited me to dinner. The second time I was pleasantly surprised by the food because it was a lot better than the first time. The ribs, burger and mac n cheese were great. When we wanted to pay, the service staff told me that the entire bill would be taken over. I was surprised because I thought you would only cover my part of the bill. You ended up paying for my meal, my sister's meal and all the cocktails. Such courtesy is rare and I would like to thank Lou's very much.

4.5 stars. Everything is pretty great, however it misses a couple points on the main - particularly the chicken & waffle was unfortunately a bit too dry. Otherwise, the combo of Chicago Beef and green beans is perfect. The cauliflower is great as a starter. Mac'n'cheese was fantastic.

Good hearty and authentic American food. Not surprising given that this is from the same folks as The Bite, Brisket, Yardbird, etc. The pricing is a bit expensive, especially the drinks. Even compared to other restaurants in Zurich, paying 5.50 CHF for 33cL of coke from a can is pushing it. The dining room was very loud tonight and it was almost impossible to hold a conversation without yelling. A bit unpleasant, though understandable since the place opened very recently - hopefully they can alter the design of the dining room in the future.

Food was very tasty. Certainly also very rich. Chicago Beef, Beef Burger and Mushroom Rueben were delicious, sides were also very great. Appetizer of fried cauliflower was tasty. Would either go with fewer sides next time (we had three, beans, mac 'n' cheese and fries) or no entrée. But wanted to try everything. It's worth a visit and be very hungry too.

Brunch with the family. It was a culinary highlight! Burgers, cheese, waffles, fried chicken and so on... Also very good coffee in different variations and good cocktails! From small to large, everyone was thrilled. Until next time ❤️

The buffalo chicken burger is amazing! The place is beautifully decorated and the staff friendly. The music was a little too loud for a brunch in our opinion but we asked and they were so nice to lower it. Overall a very nice place!

I already knew the restaurant from its predecessor, but the team at Lous Restaurant & Bar have upgraded it even further. Looks great and you feel comfortable. The food was very good, especially the Buffalo Cauliflowers. The portions were big enough and unfortunately we couldn't eat any more dessert. The staff is very friendly. We'd love to come back and try another dessert :-)

Best soul food in town & great staff!

Had high hopes visiting this newly opened spot near bahnhof wiedikon. American comfort food, yes please. On paper, all the dishes we tried should have been a smash hit. Ironically, it might be the focus on elevating the quality that didn't quite hit with me. For instance, the buffalo chicken sandwich I ordered used chicken thigh rather than the more common breast. While most agree that in abstract tigh is generally superior, I felt it would have been tastier with a brined peice of breast (and maybe more buffalo sauce on the burger too, and please take the skin off too). Maybe it's just me, try it for yourself and judge. Otherwise, the spot is recently renovated and well put together. Staff are friendly enough. I wish the cinnamon roll was also available as a dessert and not just for brunch!

Burger was very basic unfortunately, it's way too loud inside, wine was never refilled, other dishes were very greasy... sorry, but for this price I expect something better. But service was nice, hence 1 star. Still not recommended.

Really happy to find generous portion, hearty American comfort food in Zurich! Not only the Mac&Cheese but also the Ribs were great. The ribs were so well made that the bones smoothly slide off from the meat! Gotta point out the pickles and coleslaw as well. We were lucky to have Cheesecake which was surprise menu and also the banoffee was on point. The whipped cream was super soft. Attentive service and would definitely come back to try out the other dishes too. Thanks for the wonderful dinner!

The restaurant is well located, has a nice and hip decor. The service was convincing, but they couldn't score points with the food. We deliberately ordered a lot of different dishes, visually “American diner food”, but in terms of taste “we are not chefs”. The grilled cheese tasted best, which isn't that difficult. The pimples are good too. It's actually a shame, considering that they are experienced restaurateurs (Bite, Brisket, etc.).

Beautiful restaurant with a great bar and fantastic outdoor seating. The cocktail selection is fantastic and there is something for everyone. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. The food tastes fantastic and the portions are filling. For starters we had the Grilled Cheese and the Ham & Cheese Croquettes. Highly Recommended. For the main course the ribs and the dry aged beef burger. I have rarely eaten so finely. Overall, a fantastic evening in Zurich Wiedikon. We will be back!!!
