Very nice setting, apparently there is not a nail or screw in the building. Very nice to see the waiters making the tartare in front of you. The tartares are excellent and you choose what's in them. I recommend the 3 surprise tapas, there were even more than 3 when I went there. Small downside for the green plant in the middle of the passage which was constantly moved, but in the end it was more disturbing for the servers. Also remember to allow a 3-4 minute walk between the car park and the restaurant

Hello, I ate a really good beef tartare, which is prepared in front of you. Excellent dessert. A relaxing atmosphere with a magnificent view of Lake Gruyère. The entire restaurant is made of logs, just magnificent. I highly recommend.

We ate the venison saddle. Cut in front of us on a board placed on the board then on a cold plate. A really big pile of meat that should have been served in two batches. Not very appetizing considering the price of the saddle. 1 tablespoon of red cabbage and 3 chestnuts, 1 botsi pear and another fruit. Everything was cold. Very disappointed. Too bad because the setting is magnificent.

The lunch menu is at an unbeatable price. The dishes are pretty, very good, with research to stand out. A dynamic and very friendly waitress. I say bravo! Would not change a thing.

NO NO NO Guest (10/26/23) I didn't want to take photos. It’s good but there are too few (not many) on the plates. For people who are on a diet, this is the ideal restaurant!!! +++ Could this be the direction desired by those in charge! The gratin dauphinois is just three slices of potato!!! The “return of the empty-handed hunter” plate...it’s super light. The “square of pikeperch”… if there were a hundred grams before cooking… Not much toast, and it takes a long time to make, for tartars! No bread served. So, everyone had dessert, because we were still hungry!!! Very little double cream in the coffee chocolate (not even half!!!) we're going crazy 😜 There is too much waiting. The service is struggling.

Trouvaille discovered by chance!! Looking for a restaurant right on Lake Gruyère, this is what we found L' Unique, a rustic log cabin, located directly on the lake. Here a delicious tartare is prepared at the table - your mouth will water just watching it. A gastronomic achievement that has not been experienced for a long time. Will happily recommend L'Unique. If we're in the area again, we'd love to come back!! Bravo!!😋😋💪👍👍

Good address to remember! Very friendly staff, delicious meals, idyllic setting. This is my first restaurant experience since learning about my gluten intolerance. I had some apprehension but our assigned waitress was lovely and naturally offered us gluten-free alternatives. I really had a great birthday evening there. THANKS : ).

Ate delicious tartares and prepared in front of us...well done to the nice lady who spoiled us.

We wanted to eat on the beautiful terrace at 6 p.m. The friendly waiter told us that the kitchen doesn't open until 6:45 p.m. Then we ordered the aperitif to pass the time. The first shock hit us when we wanted to pay. Fr. 14.-- for an Aperol Spritz without chips, salt nuts or anything similar. At 6:45 p.m. we wanted to look at the menu. Then the second shock! A very unfriendly waitress told us that we couldn't eat outside because the sun sets at 7:15 p.m. and it would be too cool then. Would we have made a reservation inside? Of course not, because we wanted to eat outside and waited until the kitchen opened. So it was clear that we wanted to eat here. That wasn't possible, she said, because they were fully booked!! So you wait for ¾ hours at a very expensive aperitif and receive a callous answer like this. We will never go there again. We will also tell everyone we know. Unfortunately we cannot give zero stars.

The service staff welcomed and served us with a lot of enthusiasm and motivation. With a view over the lake and a pleasantly shady spot, we enjoyed the delicious ice cream coupe and then a glass of wine. No food is served in the afternoon. But we were able to choose delicious things from the menu for a later return for lunch or dinner.

Arriving on a Sunday at 5:20 p.m. while people were drinking beer on the terrace, we were told that we were no longer serving because we were preparing the evening tables.... who are we kidding? I won't set foot there again, that's for sure

The place by the lake is really nice with its building built of massive logs, you might think you're in Canada, but the smells of fondue and local dishes quickly take us back to Friboug! The food was very good and the service took care of us.

We arrived well in advance and made a wish regarding the table (out of range of the speakers). Unable to change tables, the owner refused repeatedly with implausible explanations. So the first, the Unique and the last…

L'Unique is a wonderful place to enjoy Lac de la Gruyère. The wooden chalet has a spacious terrace, where you can have a magnificent view of the picturesque marina and the large lake. The terrace is tastefully decorated with comfortable chairs and tables. The drinks are refreshing, and the charcuterie and Gruyère cheese are delicious. The service is friendly and attentive. There is parking available within walking distance of the chalet. L'Unique comes highly recommended for anyone who loves nature, tranquility, and delicious food. ---- L'Unique is a great place to enjoy the Lac de la Gruyère. Very good restaurant in an exceptional setting! Chef Mathieu and his team take great care to offer you the best possible experience. Before the season I tasted the lamb shank there which was a very, very good quality dish. Working in the village, I currently go in the afternoons to enjoy ice cream with great pleasure every time. I'm taking advantage of my opinion to tackle that of Clémentine Duc who takes the liberty of going down to the establishment because she drove 40 minutes and it was full. Full in season even on a Monday which is still happy for this type of restaurant. The most unfortunate thing is to drive 40 minutes without taking 30 seconds to book. Good luck to L’unique

Simply sublime restaurant with a magnificent view, an exceptional setting to have a good time with family or friends. Delicious cuisine and careful presentation, we really enjoyed ourselves. A big congratulations to the kitchen. The staff on duty are very pleasant, attentive and smiling, a real pleasure. I recommend everyone to discover this magnificent place, and we will not fail to return there very soon. A big thank you for this great time.

Given my fabulous first experience at Unique, I wanted to come back with a friend but this time it wasn't so fabulous... We arrived around 6:15 p.m. on a Monday evening and we were told that it was full even though there were 3 tables occupied on the terrace. At first we thought it was a joke, but unfortunately no. I will not return and I will no longer recommend! It's a shame because I really enjoyed it the first time. But refusing to take customers when there are only 3 tables occupied and 1 reserved is scandalous. Especially when you drive almost 40 minutes to get there…

Alas, alas, three times alas! First the welcome: although we had reserved a table on the terrace the day before, we were parked, there is no other word, in a corner at the very back and invaded by flies to boot. We ordered 3 tartares and what an unpleasant surprise! The cart for making these specialties in this restaurant, once abundant in spices and various condiments, has seen them reduced dramatically since our last visit a few months ago. Let's note the disorganization of the establishment's staff and you will have all the elements constituting our disappointment. Too bad the place is magnificent. Finally, let us emphasize that we are not one of those annoying customers for whom nothing ever meets their requirements. Pull yourself together otherwise your disappearance will not come as much of a surprise.

What can we say about the service… We order a sparkling water and a cold tea. The waiter comes back to us 3 minutes later to ask me if I ordered an Aperol Spritz… I am 8 months pregnant… Then they refuse to serve us food claiming that "it's full" while we notice that "bistro side" tables are set up with cutlery and placemats... No alternative offered. Or even take it away! Greeted by a condescending and visibly very uncommercial and accommodating waiter, we left with an empty stomach and an irrepressible desire to never set foot there again.

The cuisine is very good and the dishes very well presented. The staff is welcoming and smiling. The setting with its cabin atmosphere by the lake is very nice. Superb place, pleasant staff but unfortunately the octopus was not sufficiently cooked and very dry, the pork ribs (only 1 rib) very small portion for an adult and al dente and lukewarm gratin! Very disappointed.

Really very disappointing. A truly magnificent place, incredible view and restaurant with lots of charm. However, the welcome really left us with an extremely long or even interminable service. Really very expensive dish and low quantity. The main course arrived after 1 hour, beef entrecôte (small) served cold, after having made the comment to the waitress (who was very friendly) sent it back to the kitchen but came back overcooked. So second point made. We were expecting a small commercial gesture but absolutely NOTHING. Unfortunately we will never come back again. Too bad because it’s a magnificent place.

A magical corner as beautiful in winter as in summer. We ate a lamb shank and garnished sauerkraut. For dessert, a wine tart cooked with botzi pear sorbet. Everything was excellent and well presented.
