we were invited by Italian friends to Neuchâtel to this really nice and original restaurant! We enjoyed some really high quality meat cooked on coals and served on stone. Very fair prices and amazing tiramisu! Very attentive and friendly staff, we live in Basel and knowing that we can find a piece of Italy just a few kilometers from us is really nice. Thanks again, we will be back when we are in the area again!

We went to eat at Maccaro last week, we discovered this restaurant last year and I can say that like every time it never disappoints us! We ate very well, the atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were friendly and kind. I strongly recommend trying this restaurant to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine!

We arrived Saturday evening with the restaurant packed. Not having a reservation, it was almost impossible to get seated. The restaurant manager was very friendly and attentive, allowing us to sit at the bar for an aperitif. After 15 minutes he gave us a table in a small, well-furnished room next to a 1950s Vespa. We ate grilled octopus, perhaps the best we have ever tasted in our lives. The pizza below was exceptional! Congratulations on the wonderful welcome and the top-notch cuisine! Thank you Maccarò

Real Neapolitan pizza in the Neuchatel region. Kids swear by Maccaro's pizzas and say they're as good as in Italy

Yeah.. this is the second time and I don't think there will be a third 😏 Too much waiting, too expensive for the service and the quality on the plates, minimalist and not up to the level of the price pretension on the menu. In short, disappointed…

The Italian community has often told me about this restaurant, curious to try it, here is what I remember: The service: not up to the prices charged. The meat is good. Atmosphere: Youth groups, Birthdays. Decoration: minimalist, sober with a rickety table. Lack of lights between the entrance to the restaurant and the outdoor parking lot. Main entrance: lack of colors, we don't understand if we are arriving in a restaurant or in a sports center. 6.3/10

Rare to eat spaghetti with clams in Neuchâtel. It happened to us at Maccarò, a Neapolitan restaurant located in a sports center. My girlfriend and I have recently been playing Padel and last night we decided to try the restaurant. Truly a nice discovery. Maybe we'll return on Valentine's Day

Extra! Excellent food, friendly service, they managed to do something classy for a tennis court, when you've known it before, that's a change! But it's still good even for a beer after squash We will happily go back to try everything on the menu because so far, everything is excellent!

We ate Monday evening at the Maccarò restaurant with a couple of friends, really a surprise, very light pizzas and real Neapolitan dough. Grilled octopus as an appetizer is a pleasure! The Sicilian cannolo is also good. We will come back...

High standard quality from the entire team, a very warm and friendly welcome. The quality of the meat was very good, as were the pizzas (one of the best I have eaten in 2023) and pasta too. I felt like I was in Italy without having to take a plane. I recommend moving.

We had a good table. The decor and the restaurant are really very pretty. Unfortunately I find when you take a tomahawk at 140chf for two people the service must be top notch. A small portion of fries for two people and when we asked for extra, they had more. (we only ate meat for 140chf without any side dishes). I find it limiting when you have a meal like that. Anyway, they wanted to give us a dessert, I think to apologize for the fries, we had a lemon tartlet but they charged us for it when they were the ones who suggested it. In short, a shame since the rest was really good.

A nice place. But the staff leaves something to be desired! 15 min to wait for a coffee. So we decide to approach the bar to place the order! 15min extra to get a look and a hello! I should point out that it was a Saturday morning, only 3 customers were waiting. I won't go back there.

Very nice discovery, very good food and cocktails, the dishes are perhaps a little expensive but the quality is there. Top service, the lady who took care of us was more than warm, a very good time had.

Parking shared with the sports center. A large terrace and a cozy room, beautiful decoration and discovery! The staff is helpful and smiling. Regarding the card/menu, I would have liked to have had a traditional card and not one to scan on your phone. Very good pizza, the dough is thin in the center, a little more difficult to cut on the edges, even with the knife provided. But the pizza was very well seasoned. Very light tiramisu.

Nice place inside a sports centre, arrived at 6.00pm, aperitif on the terrace, we had dinner inside, well furnished place. We tasted a shrimp risotto and paccheri with seafood. Quality food with authentic, Mediterranean flavours. Fast and quality service. We'll be good again!👏🏻

An Italian restaurant located in a sports center. However, a beautiful decoration and a warm setting inviting the discovery of a potential Italian restaurant. The service remains correct unless large tables or friends monopolize the waiter and abandon the restaurant. We have come several times leaving doubt on certain negative points but this restaurant is definitely not up to the standard of a real Italian place but rather of a simple restaurant in a sports complex where you can enjoy tasty dishes without great pretensions culinary. The prices must therefore be consistent with the geographical location, the quality of the products used and the summary service provided because those applied are similar to the best Italian Restaurants in Lausanne. In summary: - Greasy and very dirty menu cards. - Decent service. - Good dishes but without any soul, in short it's just a buissness. No passion and sharing on the plates. - A digestive is offered to the customer. - Managers have answers to everything, regardless of the remark or request. Best wishes

Very nice evening at Maccarò this evening in Neuchâtel. Cozy, relaxed atmosphere. As a couple, we ordered seafood paccheri and spaghetti with vongole (a real treat) without forgetting the grilled octopus. We notice the freshness of the products and the know-how behind the preparation. A big thank you to Cristina and Roberta who provided good advice and took great care. A restaurant in a sports center is supposed to allow the user of the facilities to have a drink after sport. At 10 a.m. on Sunday we were not even able to take advantage of the terrace to quench our thirst, telling ourselves that the terrace was only available to people coming to eat for lunch. I find it unfortunate to have to go elsewhere for a drink. I advise all people who experience this unfortunate situation to go and have a drink at the pétanque canteen which welcomed us warmly.

I grew up and lived in Italy for the first 30 years of my life. I confirm that this is REAL ITALIAN. Recommended!!! A VERO menù ITALIANO, if it’s pizza for cooking. Consigliato!!!

A business meal for 2 people on the terrace. It took a good 10 minutes to get our order from the time we were seated. There surprise... a bird dropping on the seat of my chair. The order placed for two à la carte dishes and 2 Cokes, at the end of the meal 2 coffees. Once the order arrived, the waitress spontaneously offered us a carafe of water (charged at 2.- by the way, something we didn't know). In short, not very fast despite 2 waitresses and the boss working on the terrace. And the jug....I couldn't digest it. My food is good despite these negative points for me. Commercial aspect to improve. A ticket for 65.- for two.

This evening we finally went to the Neapolitan restaurant Maccarò in Marin. Tonight's meal was a pleasant surprise because having stayed in Naples for the last two years, I found a menu with completely familiar dishes and the same for the flavors. For the first time in Neuchâtel, I saw specialties like montanarine or real Neapolitan pizza as it should be. The staff was very pleasant, smiling and available. We finished with a classic and tasty dessert. We will happily return to taste the pasta. Bravo ragazzi!

Brunch to avoid. 45chf per person excluding drinks for some antipasti and 1 hot dish. Dry pizza :( Tiramisu made with... whipped cream without Mascarpone. Qualities of other antipasti ok. No services to serve yourself at the buffet (we had to do with our hands..) Staff as usual not at the top no smile, slow. No soul or atmosphere. I went there regularly 2 years ago and I loved this restaurant. Value for money for the brunch, too expensive and food with little variety, too bad.

We have been to this restaurant several times. The pizzas are very good, the service leaves something to be desired because we waited a long time on several occasions... we also recently tried the brunch and that was the big disappointment. The buffet is very small, a little cold meat/cheese/bread, a few croquettes/dumplings and desserts and that's it... it's mentioned in their advert "pizza and pasta" we unfortunately didn't have either of them. In addition, typical brunch dishes (pancakes) are extra (12.-). Unfortunately, I do not recommend this place for brunch, especially for the quality/price ratio (45.- per person).

Après une superbe 1ère expérience au Maccaro s'en est suivi de deux médiocres. Nous avons décidé de laisser une dernière chance à ce restaurant et malheureusement c'est la dernière. 20h arrivé au restaurant, nous avons eu nos boissons à 20h40. A 20h50 environ nous avons reçu notre plat apero "fior di pizza" à l'intérieur de ce plat, de la pâte à pizza crue. Ayant faim, à 21h nous avions terminé ce plat (en laissant la pâte crue) et nous avons attendu jusqu'à 21h30 pour recevoi nos entrée "Mozzarella in carrozza" donc, une miche de pain frite avec une fine tranche de Mozzarella à l'intérieur pour mon compagnon et pour ma part, pas de Mozzarella dedans. 21h50 nous recevons nos plats, le "secreto", la viande était bonne mais malheureusement il manquait certaines garnitures et celle qui était présente sur l'assiette n'était pas assaisonnée et le "Paccheri allo scoglio" les pâtes super bien cuites mais les fruits de mer trop cuit, comme de la bouilli le tout dans un bain d'huile. Malheureusement les assiettes sont arrivées froides. Nous avons demandé un verre de vin bien spécifique mais malheureusement, nous en avons eu un autre. Et le tout sans parler du service... Lors de notre arrivée on nous a averti qu'il y aurait de l'attente car ils étaient en manque de personnel c'est pourquoi on nous a demandé de venir à 20h, pas de soucis. Mais pourquoi accepter des tables en plus alors qu'il n'y a pas assez de personnel pour servir des plats corrects ? N'est il pas mieux de privilégier la qualité plutôt que la quantité ? Nous sommes compréhensibles sur l'attente ainsi que certaines erreurs mais tout un repas ? Non. A l'époque je conseillais ce restaurant à mes proches mais maintenant, à plus personne.

After a superb first experience at Maccaro, two mediocre ones followed. We decided to give this restaurant one last chance and unfortunately it's the last. 8pm arrived at the restaurant, we got our drinks at 8:40pm. At around 8:50 p.m. we received our aperitif dish “fior di pizza” inside this dish, raw pizza dough. Being hungry, at 9 p.m. we had finished this dish (leaving the dough raw) and we waited until 9:30 p.m. to receive our starter "Mozzarella in carrozza" therefore, a fried loaf of bread with a thin slice of Mozzarella in carrozza. interior for my companion and for my part, no Mozzarella inside. 9:50 p.m. we received our dishes, the "secreto", the meat was good but unfortunately some garnishes were missing and the one that was present on the plate was not seasoned and the “Paccheri allo scoglio” the pasta is super well cooked but the seafood is overcooked, like boiled food, all in an oil bath. Unfortunately the plates arrived cold. We asked for a very specific glass of wine but unfortunately we got another one. And all without mentioning the service... When we arrived we were warned that there would be a wait because they were short of staff which is why we were asked to come at 8 p.m., no problem. But why accept extra tables when there aren't enough staff to serve decent dishes? Isn't it better to focus on quality rather than quantity? We are understandable about the wait as well as some mistakes but a whole meal? No. At the time I recommended this restaurant to my loved ones but now, to no one.

Facile d’accès, service impeccable et nourriture de qualité. Le personnel est sympathique et professionnel. Un peu d’Italie à Marin, j’ai l’impression d’être en vacance à la maison ! Les petits ajustements du début on vite été réglé par l’équipe qui fait toujours le nécessaire pour corriger les remarques reçues. Le Maccarò est devenu mon lieu incontournable depuis son ouverture : brunch, repas de midi et soir 👌🏼

Le repas était excellent. Les mets sentent bons et sont beaux. Ils donnent envie. Tout est savoureux. La gentillesse et l’accueil du personnel comble le repas. Nous sommes obligés d’y retourner! Comme ils disent : torniamo dov’è siamo stati bene!

Accueil très sympa.on nous a mener les cartes à pris le temps de nous expliquer les thermes de la carte.on nous a conseiller des plats. C etait trop bon .entrée aubergines au parmesan sauce tomate délicieux. Et après pâtes fraîches aux fruits mer.dessert maison.les prix sont correct .c est un restaurant italien qui est à recomnander.

Nous y sommes allés pour le menu Saint Valentin pour la 2e fois et le menu nous surprends à chaque fois. Le staff est également très gentil et accueillant! On y retournera souvent 😊
