Happy to have delicious Indian food in Interloken, Switzerland. There are several Indian restaurants around.

The place is clean And the food is delicious Wali Zadeh Jamal, the Syrian employee/Farha He excelled in manners and behavior and gave us a drink with the order for free, which will keep you coming back to the place.. As for the prices, they are the same as Interlaken prices in general (expensive). Biryani 33 francs, Edam 25 francs..

Visited here for dinner on our visit to interlaced. We ordered garlic naan, butter roti, mixed veg curry, paneer butter masala, veg and chicken biryani. Service was awesome. Food was delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Excellent Punjabi dhaba style food both veg and non veg served by the ever smiling Farah who made us very welcomed in a country where we found that people served with lukewarm enthusiasm towards Indians...

We had our first Indian food scout here in Interlaken and loved their Aaloo paratha. We also ordered a Veg Biryani here but that was average. The owner and his wife however are very sweet and welcoming. Would definitely recommend for good Indian food. It is also in the heart of the city so it wasn't very difficult to locate.

In all honesty, it is not worth the high prices you charge, the food is not good, please honor the blessing, and they brought us rice with a hair in it and they changed it for us. I just praise the Arab worker who has a nice manner, but it is impossible to go back to the restaurant, I sleep without eating or eating it. It cost us 49 francs to eat tikka masala for two people.

The Iraqi is a good man, but unfortunately the food is very not worth the price. I asked for biryani, but it is only in name, and the chicken is strange, as if it were dough, and it was very salty, and other than all of that, he got his hair long while eating. I was visiting Interlaken from India when I found this restaurant on maps. Had Garlic naan, Roti, Dal, Aloo Gobhi and Rice. All were very tasty. Would recommend the restaurant both for their food and service.

Indian Restaurant. The food is delicious. We had butter chicken, naan bread, and chicken tikka. Biryani rice. The host is also an Arab sister and she cooperated with us very much and her service was excellent.

Good tasty food and great customer service. There are 2-3 restaurants in the same street and couple of them share kitchens. But the food is tasty and well priced. The owner was helpful in choices and spice levels.

Amazing food. I visited after hiking all day, getting in late and being super hungry at 21:30. After reading reviews, they don't lie, the food is amazing. Sure, there could be a bit of an update to the decorations and the inside like some people have mentioned but I'm not going for decorations, I'm going to eat, and the food was perfect.

One of the best Indian food restaurants in Interlaken Our request was: Chicken Biryani Butter chicken Butter bread potatoes Honestly, the food is good, excellent and delicious. As for the butter chicken, there was more turmeric in it, and the potatoes needed to be fresher. There is an employee named Farha. She is very helpful, friendly and cheerful. She has never been short with us.

Cleaniness was a big problem... Washrooms were not clean and did not even have toilet rolls or handwash soap... Food was alright, food was served quickly which was good. For the price they are charging, it can do a lot better.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Interlaken! The food is always good, very fresh and clean especially with the chicken dishes. I have this ick with chicken where it would taste funny or bad, would be black, chewy and I never experienced this at Maharaja. The service and hospitality is amazing there especially with Farha. She is so nice and helpful and she does not mind going the extra mile to make sure you are having a nice lunch/dinner. Prices are expensive for a tourist maybe, but for Switzerland and especially Interlaken the prices are average to expensive… One thing I would mention is maybe the atmosphere.. maybe sprucing up the place and elevating the decor a little, would make it perfect!

In summary, I don't think it is worth to come here. Ambiance: Small restaurant with a connection to the one across the street. The order is taken here, but the food order is placed across the street and comes from across the street. Also a very casual environment. Service: Overall appears friendly and responsive, no problem with the person themselves. Seems like it may be run by one person outside of the kitchen. Food: - Naan: CHF 5.00. Might have been one of the worst naan I've ever had in my life. It didn't really taste like naan. It was dry, not crispy, and it didn't even taste like the proper dough. - Rice: CHF 6.00. Pretty bad, plain, and not cooked well. Pretty egregious pricing too. A little confusing if they charge different people different prices for the rice based on reviews, too. - Matar paneer: Not bad, but pretty average.

We walked a little Around the small over touristy town of interlaken and settled on eating Indian. Mistake 1: We originally actually sat down at Indian tandoori across the street first since the guy came out to market to us and then disappeared on us when we were ready to order; he was nowhere to be found. We got up and left after waiting awhile. There was another Indian family there also waiting…. They had gotten there before us. Went across the way to maharajah. We were the only sole customers despite having 1000 plus reviews during dinner time…Mistake 2; Seemed like maharajah, spice village and Indian tandoori in the same street corner all use the same cook/ chef and/ or are all owned by the same owner… (seems like there are total of about 10 indian restaurants in this little town which is really a little fishy) There were 3 in our area/ corner - 2 on one side of the street (spice village and Indian tandoori) and one on the other side (maharajah). We asked the host if it was the same owner since when we ordered, he also left and disappeared into the restaurant we had just left… He pretended he didn’t understand and us the first time. we asked him a second time because he disappeared again into the other restaurant after we ordered. he answered that he was the owner of all of them! Another fishy thing was that in the Korean restaurant down the street, Indians were running this restaurant as well… we decided not to make another mistake and try the overpriced “Korean”food. My husband said it was the worst Indian food he had ever had and the rice was really, really poor quality. We ordered the yellow daal with rice (pricey for daal 19 chf, rice was 5 chf/ bowl and 4chf/ 1 piece of naan!!); doesn’t even come with rice! We felt worse due to the quality of the rice they gave us for 5.00! The daal lacked flavor my husband thought. We also had the samosas which were decent but came out with Thai sweet chilie sauce to accompany them!? I’ve never seen this before and come from a really international city. I asked him didn’t the menu say it came with a chutney - usually mint chutney? He went and disappeared to the other restaurant and brought back yogurt that had green color…. It looked like they put green coloring inside yogurt…. Never seen mint chutney like that before… I, again, asked, “that’s mint chutney? It’s usually darker green and not a yogurt consistency”…. He said that was a chutney and that was all they had!:( I think he must have thought I never had Indian food before cause I’m not Indian! there is definite questionable issues quality, honesty and customer service with all 3 of these restaurants and I would not reccomend any of these and/ or any other Indian restaurant there. They also had the same menus with the same pictures…. Also wanted to mention that some of the reviews for maharajah restaurant are people reviewing for a maharajah in corona and/ or Zurich, of the reviews I read. They must have reviewed the incorrect restaurant with the same name as I can’t imagine how this particular maharajah could achieve 4.5 stars ever with the quality of food and customer service.

They serve worst Indian food on planet earth. Horrible quality, stale food and completely tasteless. Their staff/owner proudly ask to refer their google ratings. Really wonder how they got high rating with such terrible quality food being served. Both their restaurants are very bad, please don’t ever enter their restaurant.
