Maier in Laufenburg

On my bike trip from Lake Constance to the North Sea here on March 26th. stopped in for breakfast. Wonderful vital breakfast with top Bircher muesli, staff very nice. Totally recommended 😃

After three years, another attempt at the coffee shop in Laufenburg. Look at the photos, they speak for themselves. The photos were taken after 15 minutes of being there. When we wanted to leave, the tables were cleared away. The dirt from three tables was spread with a rag. The bright spot on the table is the one I cleaned. Cutlery dirty. There would be enough service. But each course was run individually. A good service person never walks back and forth with weak hands. Especially since the dishes from customers who have left are piling up on the tables. Dear staff, this could be better. Much better, in fact. As I left, I was lovingly asked to come and help wash the dishes.

Service quality depends on the service employee - the level varies greatly. The ambience is nothing special and the salty baked goods are not recommended. An oval table is always reserved🤔 when I'm there. They tend to score points with good coffee and the location near the train station.

Today after our shopping we went to Beck Maier for a quick coffee and a bite to eat. 1. We weren't greeted by any of the staff, not even the lady at the coffee bar where we sat down. So she was practically looking us in the face. There was no “Grüezi” or anything! 2. We were ignored for too long while we were on our cell phones (an employee) 3. My foccacia was supposed to be filled with chicken curry, but it was with salad and curry sauce. I couldn't find the chicken, so it was practically non-existent. 4. The lady at the counter was annoyed because I asked which sandwich had the toppings because the entire counter was a mess and the signs weren't correct. We then left with just the sandwich because I was really hungry! My husband didn't want anything more! It's a shame that Beck Maier in our village is 5* compared to this one. I often refrain from giving bad reviews on one-off visits, but here I just have to because it affects the entire staff!

The pastries and coffee are very good. The service and staff were unfortunately unprofessional and rude. If there was an alternative in the area I wouldn't go there again for a long time.

Basically good but quite expensive, which unfortunately no longer corresponds to a reasonable price-performance ratio. Portions are becoming smaller, prices are rising and quality is also decreasing.

Great offer and cozy restaurant. Very friendly. What I particularly appreciate is the table with pastries from the day before that are offered for 50% instead of being thrown away. There are always enough parking spaces across the street.

Went to the Maier Bakery for lunch on November 30th We chose the chicken/piccata menu with tomato spaghetti. Plus soup or salad for 19 francs. So far everything is fine. Unfortunately we had to wait almost 40 minutes for the food. In addition, there was about 50 grams of chicken meat on the plate, wrapped in cm-thick breading. That doesn't work at all. Twice as much breading as meat. Went out of the store frustrated, what a shame!

A bit too expensive for my wallet.

I had breakfast there. The breakfast was rich and sufficient, rather a bit too much for one person. The coffee was very tasty and the orange juice was freshly squeezed. The woman in service was attentive. All in all very good and I would go there again.

A café with service on 2 floors, you can sit and eat here very nicely. The canapés were fresh and delicious, the coffee could have been a little hotter but perhaps the machine wasn't at full speed yet. The bread was super fine and had a great crust!

I had the opportunity to taste delicious Maroni, interesting taste, something new for me personally... nicely decorated interior. Very friendly staff, I recommend everyone to visit.

Friendly service and fine coffee

The food is good, but the service and the packaging of the products are very unprofessional. - I bought a mousse/cream. The cream was already filled over the edge. And the cream was simply covered with a piece of baking paper and packed in a paper bag. Of course, the entire top part of the cream remained stuck to this baking paper. I didn't receive a proper spoon for it when I asked. There were mini spoons for stirring coffee. - The tea cups were too hot to hold with bare hands. We asked for a holder or another empty cup. The saleswoman said she could “only” give us napkins. A pity. Packaging appropriate to the products should be a given in such a large confectionery.

I redeemed a 5 year old voucher at this bakery yesterday. I was credited the full amount without any problem. Instead of brunch, which I can no longer attend there for personal reasons, I should have lots of treats packed for me. Thank you very much for that. Mega friendly and really sweet ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great place to have a coffee with some pastries. First time and everything perfect. Quite a variety with sweets and different drinks to choose from. Oh. and in front there is a place to park easily!

Delicious, but poor service kills any desire to return. It is simply incomprehensible to wait so long for coffee and ice cream... two waitresses for the whole cafe

The selection is huge, the vanilla summit is highly recommended. This lives up to the word “filling”; from the first bite to the last you have a pure experience. You can also discover and enjoy something new here every time. Croissants, various breads, tasty sandwiches and very good coffee round off the range perfectly. I always enjoy coming here to eat and enjoy.

The vegi Hörndli were good, enough for a lunch menu, but they were very hot, like they came from the microwave.

For a small snack (Flamkuchen) and a coffee with a Berliner, I think over 30 francs is very excessive. You charge 2.50 more to be able to eat the Flamkuchen in the warmth. Hammer.

You get there, pay for parking, you go in, the caferia closes at 5:30 p.m. even though it says under “Opening hours” until 6:30 p.m. Not nice at all

A pleasant place, almost always open, which is convenient when everything in the city is closed. Fresh pastries and desserts, prices are certainly not budget. Many people come for morning coffee, read the newspaper, and meet friends. Because of this, you have to look for a place or wait. There is a second floor

Unfortunately, the service spirit among employees is not particularly high. This morning I left the store for the second time without buying anything because the employees preferred to chat instead of selling something and with visual contact with the customer. The store was empty at the time. It's a shame, because the products are good, but in the future I'll happily do my shopping elsewhere.

Very nice staff, great & fresh products! Most ice creams (homemade) are just not my taste. But it's great that they're homemade!!!!!

I was there for the first time last week and was super satisfied. The operator Angela M. was super nice and warm. He recommended delicious things to us and looked after us (tourists) very kindly. I would like to thank her for her warmth, which unfortunately is no longer so commonplace these days. Gladly again and again.

Unfortunately, the service wasn't the most motivated...we should have sat down with another employee...bad luck for us...Belonung had also forgotten the iced tea for the treasure hunt...she didn't feel like working either. ..can not do anything... The ice cream (strawberry and vanilla) was very ice crystal heavy... the rest was very good... Actually it would only be 2 stars... but since the employee who came back from the break was very friendly when saying goodbye, it is 3 stars...

Toast Hawai was still frozen inside, toast was then warmed up again and brought back. Price/performance is not right for these “frozen goods”.

It is a nice place, but very expensive when you want to have a decent breakfast. A ladies' breakfast (a croissant OR a bread roll, a hot beverage, a small portion of plain yogurt, a sliced kiwi and jam and butter) costs CHF 10.95. Sandwiches are reasonably priced and taste good.
