Maier in Aarau

I go there from time to time, I like the pastries with services. A little disappointed with my last visit this Saturday the pizza was disappointing

We were there on Tuesday 3/5/24 at 4:00 p.m. Hardly any selection of patisserie. Chocolate peaks moderately fresh. Cappuccino was a coffee with milk instead of a coffee with foam. And all good things come in threes: at 5 p.m. we were thrown out. It's a shame - we won't be going back there anymore.

It was very neat there shortly before the end.

Wide selection of delicacies. Best cream slices in Aargau. Luckily, they still use plastic straws instead of those rancid paper alternatives.

We only enjoyed apple strudel with vanilla sauce: it was delicious. The coffee also tasted good.

Nice cafe, very modern furnishings. Super delicious cream slices. The service was very nice and friendly. But I think it would be better if you could order cakes etc. at the table and not at the patisserie display at the front.

For such a price you get no matter how unfriendly the staff. Not recommended

The small facelift (renovation) has done the café good. It looks friendlier and brighter. The food is of good quality. Service is okay. Toilets are clean. You can have brunch every Saturday and Sunday. It is advisable to reserve a table in advance, especially in the cold season.

Dogs have to stay outside, unless you walk with the dog through the entire store past the displays to the cafe, in which case it is allowed with you. However, he is not allowed to sit in the entrance area while his mistress goes shopping. Logical? There is no tethering option in front of the shop and the proximity to the busy road is too dangerous to leave the dog there freely. The service is also unfriendly and uninterested. Well, you have permanently driven us away as customers. We definitely won't be coming back.

At the beginning there was also cake in the surprise package, now only bread rolls, croissants, it's a shame ☹️ but I won't save any more packages!!!

Really nice bakery in Aarau's old town with an extensive breakfast menu even during the week. Probably one of the better scrambled eggs I've eaten out. But what made this bakery special for me was the super friendly service from the young lady on Friday morning, who was totally open-minded and friendly. The employer can consider itself lucky to have such employees. Recommended.

The service in the restaurant area is very, very bad, the waitress had a frowning face, disrespectful and unfriendly. I don't recommend going there. Finally she put the order card on the table and said, “You have half an hour to pay and leave.” Service '0 we have the feeling of being unwanted

Friendly service, very good food

I had lunch, something small, with my mother in the restaurant, around 12.45 p.m. Some tables by the window were "reserved" for guests we didn't see for the next 1.5 hours. Initially the order was taken quickly, the "typing" into the cell phone took a little longer (probably because of the customer card that you had to pay with at the end), while the waitress stood directly and uncomfortably so close to the table that we had to take ours personal conversation had to wait a long time. With hardly any guests in the room, the service staff shouted things to each other across the restaurant, probably what still needed to be done, etc... it seemed like they were in a warehouse. Although very friendly and hard-working, but loud and seeming rude. A tarte flambée with bacon was overloaded with bacon. In addition to the cubes, add about 4 whole slices on top. My mother didn't eat the Hawaiian toast. It was too greasy for her with lots of ham and layers of cheese. The tarte flambé, a very large portion, stayed with me all afternoon. I really had to fight for the beloved final espresso because I couldn't get noticed or make eye contact. The bakery and the offering is really great. For lunch: NO

My daughter and I had arranged to meet for lunch at Beck Maier, Aarau. We discovered “Maiers Hot Toasts” on the menu and decided on the “Urdinkel bella Italia” toast and “Maiers Chässchnitte”. When the food came to the table, our mouths fell open, a small piece of bread with cheese (baked?). Is this a joke?! We looked at each other questioningly… Price/performance?! Unfortunately, when I bit into my “Maiers Chässchnitte” it didn’t get any better, dry, dry, dry, that it didn’t dust out of my mouth was amazing. Bread dry and cheese mixture also dry, how that happens is a mystery to me. My daughter's toast "Urdinkel bella Italia" was also small, a small piece of bread, but probably because of the ingredients pesto, mascarpone and tomatoes it wasn't bone dry. So I can't explain how something like this is sold, because anyone who has ever eaten such a "Maiers Hot Toast" will hardly order one again...! I would also like to note that the service was very nice and accommodating, everything was perfect here!

My visit to you was very worthwhile. The employee Tiziano Salvo was able to serve me very well and was able to tell me what kind of cake he would recommend. My daughter was very happy to do it again! I have already recommended to my relatives to go to Mr. Salvo if they need anything! Top service!

Some of the vegetables on the menu are still raw and often cooked far too long!!! There are a few very friendly employees but the rest are very rude and when it comes to management there is no comment

Completely overpriced. 15.50 for a mini plate of salad that can only be used as a side salad at most. 13.50 for a slice of toast with mushy cheese on it (Toast Hawaii). Zurich prices in Aarau…

Excellent bakery with very tasty products. The vanilla peak is unparalleled. Also very good now in winter: the Zigerkrapfen. So far, fast and friendly service every time. Highly recommended.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Price-performance ratio is too high for what you get, there are cheaper breakfast places with a larger selection and a larger amount of bread/croissants/etc.

Fine little meals and a good salad buffet

Great for having breakfast with friends/family. It also has sandwiches of all kinds and it is very tasty. Unfortunately, the good quality of the food also comes at a steep price.

Soooo bought from Beck Maier in Aarau on November 17th, 2022. Appetizing...? No way! The menu was ok, but it didn't make you happy with this mess. I would have liked a 'clean' one, but I was told that everyone looks like that 😳. Something like that shouldn't be sold to customers like that, or what does 'Maier' think about it? Also: price/quantity/quality is too expensive to take with you in my opinion.

if you are in Aarau with your children or want to meet a friends with thier children then it's a good place to go. They have good choices for drinks and some sweets plus to some snacks.

Unfriendly staff. The treatment among the employees was very harsh. The Berliner was probably from the day before. Customers who ordered something were very rudely informed that it would be closing in 20 minutes. We were there for the first and last time. Too bad.

The products are - as usual - good, the location is a bit cold. But what really bothered me was how irritable one of the service ladies was with the customers and her colleagues. Her tone was very sharp and she threw her hands away several times, visibly annoyed. I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt and put it off to the heat. Next time please be more friendly and professional for more stars.

What's great is that Café Maier now also has a terrace where you can sit outside when the weather is nice. Otherwise, I like going there because there is a lot of delicious food. Be it patisserie, ice cream or coffee, everything is very fine. I can only recommend Café Maier.

Excellent! My husband was waiting for me because I was at the doctor. Since I had to wait a few minutes for service, I got the coffee for free. Wouldn't have been necessary as the service was very nice. We stocked up on the fine things from the bakery.

Various cold cuts (fresh, top quality) All bread rolls / croissants / plaits are also fresh and delicious. À la Minute Rösti, fried eggs, bacon, scrambled eggs, mega top! Staff extremely attentive and nice, always there to clear up and ask if everything is okay and if we need anything else. Really brilliant. Mr. Maier understood everything. Bravo!! Unfortunately I can't give more than 5 stars 😜

The restaurant has a very customer-friendly payment system! The consumption is loaded onto a card and payment is made at the cash register. Great.

At 4 p.m.: only 1 server in the coffee shop, and she was hopelessly overwhelmed with only 5 tables occupied. First we waited almost 10 minutes for the order to be taken. Then the order was brought to the table spread out over 10 minutes. She didn't know how to make a Viennese coffee and had to ask in the kitchen. There, too, people weren't sure and it was discussed and discussed. In the meantime, other guests got up and left the restaurant because they were not served. We've been going to Beck Maier for years, but somehow it gets worse every time.

Coffee to go, small cup, only half full and from the cheap fully automatic machine for 3.50?? You definitely have to do something about it. Every gas station offers better coffee!!
