MAME Josef in Zürich

Charming, cozy neighborhood spot. This is one MAME location, and I'm assuming the best since I had the best service here (shout out to Ondre and Aspasia!). Their pourovers were so delicious that I had two. (And that's on top of an extra coffee I had that morning.) Naturally, couldn't sleep until 2am BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. 🤣 While you can get your coffee for takeaway, sit for a bit. There's light indoor seating, and sidewalk seating too. Credit accepted.

Super good coffee! Nice and relaxed atmosphere, even outside the door. Baristas know their stuff and are super friendly. Sometimes the waiting time is a bit long.

It doesn't really live up to the hype. I really like the proprietors but like they say themselves, the best coffee is the one you like and I just don't like it that much the way they make it. It's also usually super full and the atmosphere is a bit sterile.

Coffee is great, service is good, no German is spoken.

I had a matcha tart and a matcha latte. I was disappointed with both, especially since the co-owner is Japanese. The matcha latte was pastel colored (even after stirring), had a slight matcha note and tasted especially of the oat milk. ⭐️⭐️ The tart had a nice color, but tasted far too strong of the raspberry filling. Here, too, there is hardly any matcha taste and it is also rather expensive. ⭐️⭐️ The service was nice, but it doesn't make up for the disappointing quality. I probably won't come here again.

Zurich’s Internet celebrity coffee shop has a lot of people queuing up all the time. It is not a place suitable for sitting and chatting for a long time. The cakes are pretty good, but the cookies 🍪 are not recommended.

Exquisite! Great smooth coffee. We were there on Saturday early afternoon. It was extremely busy. Not many seats/tables available. Most ppl came to get their coffee to-go, meaning constant long line (but fast service) & ppl walking in and out.

Review solely based on MAME coffee beans. Surprisingly ran into a specialty coffee shop in Toronto that sells MAME coffee. Was introduced of the brand a few weeks ago from a YouTuber video, but did not know the many championship that the founders has awarded of. Was hesitated to purchase at first because it’s almost as twice expensive as the coffee I usually purchase from some decent local specialty coffee roasters, but was told by the barista “this is one of the best coffee roasters in the world”. Got home and made pour overs with V60. Was amazed by how good it is. It tasted so silky, smooth, sweet, has strong notes that reminisced a delicate piece of almond milk chocolate. Now I don’t think I can go back to those local roasters I used to like. Hope I can visit MAME in person one day.

Really good place for coffee. Cozy seating, nice coffee and comfortable to sit there. Staffs are helpful for bean selection. I had 3 choices drip coffee which turn out so good. Cake is good too. Credit card accepted. Not much space for seating but so comfortable and atmosphere are nice. Hope to be there again.

Suddenly it has become my favorite coffee place 🙈 except that the coffee there is so good .. the ambience, staff .. and customers .. all of this means that I always go there when I feel like having coffee in the city 😅 the people It's just great there... and the atmosphere... In my stay of Zurich I was on the search for a good speciality coffee and this has satisfied my craving. I got a cold brew and bless them it is a good one. I can see why it’s crowded and people line up, worth the wait.

The coffee was good, but people with laptops ruin the whole vibe. They order one coffee and block two spots at a table for hours. Please stop letting people work in the cafe, especially on Sundays.

Beautiful speciality coffee shop in Zurich. Best address for anyone looking for a beautiful cup of pour over coffee. Anything on the menu will be absolutely mind bendingly good. Have never been disappointed after a visit to Mame. They also sell roasted beans as well as different brewing untensils for home brewing. A visit is massively recommended.

Coming all the way from Asia and landed here in this lil beautiful coffee shop after reading some reviews. Well the reviews are NOT WRONG !!! So glad we came here. I had a latte , I choose the Colombian beans with stone fruits ( ok so I’m a coffee dummy and I just went with their recommendation which is really great, the staff make your life easier choosing coffee ) and this is definitely one of the BESTTTT COFFEEES I’ve ever had in ma entire life. My partner had an espresso, Brazilian coffee beans , Garse , and it was out of this world ! We would definitely come back here when we visit Zurich again ….. Tq to the staff too for their friendliness and their recommendations 🥰🥰🥰

The coffee is so good. One of the best in Zurich, but for the food no many choices. The place is too small to hang out. And the barista not as friendly as the usual coffee shop in Zurich. Others place is more friendly and helpful.

Best filter coffee in town. Located in a nice quiet neighbourhood north of the city centre. Helpful and friendly service. Quite expensive, but so is everything else in Zürich.

I had higher expectations of this place. It has so many Barista awards but you can get better coffee in Zurich for that price. The matcha cake was small and too sweet, the raspberry jam on the bottom killed all the matcha flavor.

Really good coffee if in the area you should totally go to this place, specially if you like specialty coffee. The End.. For me, they dont know to make coffee, by the italian on the josefstrasse is the coffee much better. Sorry mame, once and never again!

I've been wanting to go for a while and finally made it today. Very friendly people and a very large selection of types and varieties of coffee. Highly recommended the pastries (one matcha and one yuzu) were both very light and delicious. I will definitely come again.

A nice coffee shop with three options for the tea drinkers: black tea, matcha, and rooibos (either hot or cold with ice). The staff are friendly. I would love to see more cakes please.

excellent reception and very friendly staff.. we started by flat white which was very good .. then I took iced Ethiopian V60 which was excellent.. the shop was equipped by the best machines ( brand new Sanremo and legendary malkoeing grinders) so you will expect always the best espresso in town! It worth the visit again and again !!

Place was great. Now this place is not oriented to the client. On my opinion I should be able to choose if I want a coffee with milk or not. Other than that, matcha is actually a tea and should be available without milk. Regular costumer are not welcome.. Food is good there.

Amazing coffee shop! They have great filter coffee, a lot of variety and very well brewed. The baristas were extremely kind and enthusiastic about their job, we came as a group of 7 and they brewed us 3 different filter coffees so we could taste test each one of them. Also gave us a little description of each coffee. The coffee shop itself was quite cute, but not super well decorated. They had some seating inside and outside but not much, so probably not a great place to sit and study/read/work.

Best coffee in Zürich! Not only they have won multiple barista championships, but they are truly friendly and helpful. I would always recommend the full Blume there. but whatever your taste, you can't go wrong with the coffees. If you go there ask what mame means in Farsi 😜

Coffee is great, baristas super friendly. But what happened to the coziness and the chill vibes? New set up look quite bad, no space for trolleys or families anymore. Weekend is crazy packed, were not able to enjoy our time because people are lining so close to the tables. Missed the old version.

I’m visiting MAME regularly since 1,5 year and will always continue to do so. There’s always some MAME beans in my kitchen and I really enjoy visiting the cafe whenever I’m around. To me it’s always a first choice when it comes to coffee, baristas are always helpful and very friendly, the atmosphere of this place simply makes one come back again and again!

For me, there is not enough space to sit down and drink coffee and eat cake. I ordered a cappuccino, the coffee is very different from the classic Italian drink. It only had a bit of foam. The yuzu tart is very tasty, but a bit expensive.
