The atmosphere was pleasant, and being the sole Indian restaurant in the area had its perks. However, the food was average at best. The naan and paratha appeared to be frozen, the main dishes lacked depth in flavor, and the prices were unreasonably high given the quality of the food.

We were greeted with the most stern face of the female waitress who simply said’ we have no table for you’ N on greeting whatsoever! After a minute 2 tables opened up, the waiter ended up messing the order , upon confrontation he bluntly replied that it was us who had ordered this! Others in my group waited for 20 mins to get a Naan to somehow finish their sugar loaded ‘ Paneer Tikka masala’.They take customers for granted! Unbelievably poor service and vivaciously rude staff!!

Food was very good! I liked it.

The cuisine is delectable, and the staff is exceptionally amiable. You will thoroughly enjoy your experience. We particularly savored the butter chicken masala and the Kerala coconut chicken curry. However, I must mention that the quantity of chicken in each dish was rather modest in my opinion.

The explosions of flavours was a great experience. My first time visit and will be returning.

BEFORE YOU COME HERE - ONLY THE LAMB IS HALAL. NOT THE CHICKEN. We came here today, assuming the food is halal, as it states it on google that the food served here is halal. We ordered butter chicken and other items. Then I had to ask if the meat is halal, then to be told chicken is not halal just the lamb. I had to cancel my dish, I was told you cannot cancel as it’s already cooked. I was not happy about this. Do not order cheese naan from here, it was not cooked properly, you can taste the flour and they did not take this off our bill either. We showed this to the waiter so he can show it to the chef. I would not recommend this place. If you’re a Muslim make sure you ask what is halal, as i was told only the lamb is halal.

One for the best Indian restaurant in the world my order was “better chicken, chicken Biryani, one Naan bread, and Samosa”. It was more than enough for 2 👍🏻

The most important thing is that it is really tasty. I ate the Weggi burger, delicious. The service was nice and calm. There are Indian movies playing in the background, everything is clean and the tables are very cozy. You don't have to wait long for your food, you can take away. I recommend

One of best food that you can relate to the food that you get in India or UK. We had Vada Pav, Butter chicken, Veg. Curry, Daal Makhani, Naan and Masala Chai. My Ranking goes for Vada Pav and Masala Chai... followed by Veg curry and Butter chicken, Daal Makhani. Naan is not from clay tandoor its from wooden ... they do not give complementory rice so pls note that. Overall food was awesome and the staff was very friendly... will visit again shortly 👍😀

Very costly and small portions, waiters don’t even listen what you order. We ordered lachcha paratha and were given plain paratha for the same price. Also one of the items was delivered when we were almost finished eating. Rice is served complementary across Switzerland, but u don’t get that here.

Outstanding Indian food in a little corner of Switzerland. We've been here and to many other places around the country multiple times - it is among the most authentic, tasty Indian food we've had here. The service is exceptional too, even on crowded days throughout the year. Highly recommend for a meal.

We went there twice a year to change from other restaurants and each time we said never again: minimally courteous service, mediocre dishes... this time was no exception to this rule. We arrived at 9 p.m. and they made it clear to us that we didn’t have to stay long. They also made a mistake on the order. Hefty bill for really not much

We ordered Panner Tikka Masala, Tadka Daal, Garlic Naan and Lachha Paratha. The experience was not good; we were served Plain Paratha instead of Lachha Paratha, and the quantity was not good. The behaviour of the female staff was not polite

The only Indian restaurant in Gstaad, serving authentic & delicious food. Dal makhni was really good. Service was also efficient. The restaurant has quirky Bollywood art all over and the tv screen’s displaying all the Indian movies shot in Gstaad.. Place is pricey but totally worth it!

We went there actually for their personalized private Bollywood Tour which was a wonderful experience. Sahil, the manager of the restaurant took us on a two hour drive to all the known and hidden movie scene and explained everything in great detail. We also had lunch which was just as good as the tour. The Chai at the end of the tour really hit the spot. Sahil THANK YOU!!!

Good Indian restaurant if you want to have tasty authentic Indian food. The chef was superb. BUT the Manager and some of the staff were really rude.. typical behaviour. They are behaving like we are eating there in Langar..unexpected behaviour.. no greetings not friendly tone.

A popular Bollywood themed restaurant near Gstaad station and not far from the DDLJ-famed Early Beck bakery. We waited here for 30 mins before being seated and were told the food would be quite a wait as well, even takeaway. The staff were clearly rushed off their feet and looked visibly stressed. We would have stayed still had we not had a train to catch in just under an hour.

RUDE staff. Arrived at the door and was told to book online. When I found a slot and booked it the so called manager was rude and stated that we were not smart and did not understand what he said. Very disappointing. Now I understand why the reviews said the staff was the worst.

Unlike what all the Indian customers mention in these reviews, the food and service is great! I have unfortunately first hand witnessed twice how the Indian “customers” treat the staff here and it’s not good, these people then write negative reviews that this place absolutely does not deserve. Either way let’s get into the actual review: The atmosphere is a combination of showing Bollywood references from Switzerland and providing a cozy place to dine. This might not be for everyone but it’s definitely cool when you’re aware of the historical Bollywood presence in Switzerland. The service was also really good, the food was served in a timely manner and the staff set up the tables appropriately for the ordered dishes and drinks. The food was also presented quite nicely. The food was also delicious. The presence of spice was sufficient and will also satisfy the less spice tolerant people. I’m glad that restaurants like this are able to keep a rich flavour without bombarding it with spices that would destroy the common people’s (read: non-Indian) tongue. The paneer wrap was really delicious and the prawn dish and chicken biryani were also really good. They also have ice cream that’s made in house which was really delicious! Together as a family we all picked different flavours: Strawberry, Hazelnut, Chocolate and Straciatella. Overall, take a good look at the more nuanced and positive reviews for this restaurant as for some reason this restaurant is a victim of negative review bombing from Indians essentially behaving like Karens. The food and service was really good and the atmosphere is more up to personal taste.

Bad place Very slow service, it takes at least half an hour and it is not crowded Tasteless food We came on a rainy and cold day, which made us sit outside because we were Arabs and the Indians were inside under the pretext that the tables were reserved, and on top of that, they took a long time from eating while seeing how cold it was. We ordered chicken biryani, he brought me chicken with nafta rice Spoons for scooping There is no scooping to eat with the same spoon 😕 Their employees are terrible, but they are so annoying that we cannot eat in comfort I don't recommend it at all Bad and slow service 👎🏻 I don't recommend it

Good spicy food as expected from an Indian restaurant with a very friendly waitress

Waited 20min until we could order and another 30 for the food. The burger was still frozen on the inside when we got it. Really not worth the experience.

We really like Indian cuisine but unfortunately with this heat they have no air conditioning or fan, it's too hot and a lot of flies, we weren't able to enjoy it, to be avoided during heat peaks.

We stumbled upon this place by chance. And what an experience it was! Everything was great! We loved the starters, both samosa chaat and dahi puri! Chicken tikka and butter chicken was excellent! The lamb curry was ok! Loved the naans! Make sure to sit in the courtyard! The staff was excellent and polite! Didn’t get their names, but the gentleman from Goa and the gentleman with the somewhat long hear were great!

We had visited and stayed in Gstaad in May 2023. Being vegetarians and not adventurous with other cuisine, we preferred to eat in a restaurant serving Indian cuisine. We were told about Mango restaurant and visited it for lunch. Incidentally Mango is the ONLY Indian restaurant in Gstaad. We had a wonderful experience with great service and amazing food. The staff esp. Mr. Sahil, were very kind and helpful. We came to know about Bollywood tour arranged by the restaurant for a fee. Mr. Sahil took us on the tour and showed us all the places where Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge movie was shot, and also some of the other Hindi movies were shot like, Sannen station, the buildings in the parking lot, the famous bridge where Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol dance, and the church. The best part was Mr. Sahil had the movies downloaded and saved in his I Pad and could show us the corresponding scenery and the songs. It was an unforgettable experience. Later, for dinner we ordered food from Mango restaurant and it was delivered to the hotel where we were staying. We had a truly memorable experience! We strongly recommend those who visit Gstaad not to miss out on this experience of eating at the Mango restaurant!😊

Worse service I had in Gstaad. Very very slow. It took them 25 min to serve the water and 35 min to serve the bakoora and 45 min to serve the food. Food is average though. Not visiting again.

Staff attitude is terrible. Restaurant is well placed but staff behavior needs to improve. Only came to pick a takeaway and was treated like they’re doing me a favour! Wasn’t directed where to wait so chose a spot near the exit. The whole restaurant was empty then a group of 3 walks in and the Indian lady waiter/cashier rudely asks me to get up as they’d reserved the table. I don’t mind being moved but a paying customer needs some courtesy. Amazed how badly they treat customers. For anyone reading the reviews here, I’m trusting the bad ones are genuine so be wary. Don’t expect customer friendly service on this front. Such a shame as this is a tourist venue so some friendliness would have gone a long way. Well done to chase customers away.

Nice Indian Restaurant in Gstaad.. We loved food here.. Apple Papdi chaat was delicious.. along with Chaat we had ordered Veg Thali which had lot of varieties.. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in Gstaad..

This restaurant had some tasty options, but quantity was less so make sure your order multiple dishes in one go. Also the waiting time was tooo muchhhh.. so recommended to book the table in advance. This restaurant is located in heart of gstaad with lot of posters from Indian movies which were shot there.

Does not deserve one star either. The staff was arrogant and rude and giving bad treatment to Indians but were bending down to foreign counterparts, and telling them stories of bollywood movies for a while we were waiting to take our order for about 20-30 . Better to go to pizzeria at corner of same street which has vegetarian and vegan options and staff though all foreigners is very courteous and attentive.

We entered the restaurant at 7PM which looked a bit empty and the few tables that were occupied were mainly by locals. No other NRI's or Indians in the restaurant. So asked for a table for five at the bar. The bartender told us they were fully booked for the evening and will write down my number and call back once they had a cancelation. we walked around gstaad and passed the restaurant again but still not crowded with many empty tables. I would says it's by Indians for locals only which is a bit sad. Not recommended!

Great Indian restaurant with fresh food

Reception well below the minimum required. We were rudely turned away by the waiter, claiming that the entire restaurant was booked. There was, however, a free table outside. We came back an hour later and the table was still free. Bad brand image for the restaurant and for Gstaad.

The food was nice, but the staff was unwelcoming for south Asians! We observed that staff was polite to non Asian people, while they made us wait to take the order, and gave unwelcoming rude hospitality without greeting and having straight faces for any of our queries! It really felt like they were bit biased! In fact some of other fellow south Asians left the restaurant as waitress were unresponsive

Food was ok! Service was mixed when we first entered the staff at bar was unable to find our reservation and kept saying they are busy we asked to see the list so we can help him find us but nah! He was adamant then someone from inside came in and found our name. The food was ok not the best we had in gstaad. This could be coz I ordered a Thali. Masala tea was good that made us happy after a hectic day.We went there in the evening to just enjoy the bollywood theme and a tea. But she refused to share wifi password since we only ordered tea.

I was visiting from the US,and happened to be at this Indian restaurant because of advertisement right at the Gstaad station. The place is a rip-off. They are in business because of Indian tourists but kinda make fun of them being Bollywood fans. Their waitress Anjali was rude, if she hates her job because she needs to deal with Indian tourists, she should be working something that she likes. They charged $7 for .5L still water. Heavily overpriced and not worth being there at all unless you’re missing Indian food. I had read reviews that Swiss is expensive but only places that are found expensive were Indian places at Bollywood hyped attractions. Stay away from this place and try some Swiss food which has a lot of options for vegetarians. The only good thing I liked at this place was Bollywood posters and Bollywood movies clips shot in Swiss on TV. They are in business because of tour companies and they are the one leaving good reviews.

Mango is a rip-off place. The curry doesn’t come with rice or anything and it’s about CHF 30 for just a small bowl of curry. They charge CHF 5 for extra tiny sauce without informing. It’s a small cafe and not even a nice restaurant. The quality of food is average and it is not worth it. You can get a much better quality food and service even in Gstaad.

The food is very tasty, try the homemade ice tea, it's super delicious. Friendly and helpful staff and the atmosphere is lovely with the pictures on the walls and light accents.

The Mango restaurant probably serves the best Thalis in Switzerland. We ate a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian thali. The different curries are spicy and each one has its own individual touch. Together with the rice and the naan bread, a taste explosion.

I really loved the Papdi-Apple-Chaat and Chai. 😍 Never had a chaat like that. Definitely give it a try when you visit! Staff was friendly but a little slow. We visited on NYE so it was due to that. Interior is super nice with Bollywood movie pictures and a loop of bollywood songs shot in Gstaad playing. The food however, seemed to be made in the same curry as other dishes. Big portions!

A very interesting experience. While the food itself was mediocre at best, clearly made to cater to the tastes of non-indian tourists visiting the place, the service was very fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was really nice. Mr. Surya was a very nice host too. I would recommend for a good experience, but be warned; the food is not indian at all! It's not to say the food is bad, but certainly not indian.

We had for lunch Biryani ordered and for dinner Chicken Kathi roll and Lamb Curry bowl ordered, all of them were crazy delicious. For dinner they had our order delivered to our hotel and they just came 15 minutes late, they sent us a Brownie as an apologize, that was also soooo good. We will definitely come back here again and again, The atmosphere is so nice and cute and the staff are amazingly friendly. At the end , the price according to the quality and service is absolutely valuable 👌

Good Indian foods Excellent service Very helpful staff

The staff is really humble and professional especially the staff boy. In a foreign land they made feel home. The quantity was large and food was super tasty. I had ordered chhole paratha and Rice kadhai paneer combo.

We visited the restaurant in August and were delighted to have some tasty Indian food. With Bollywood celebrity pictures all around and clippings of the Hindi movies shot here, one felt happy that an Indian restaurant is doing so well. However, the reason I haven't given it 5 star is because they charged even for tap water. Being an Indian, I expected them to atleast not charge for this. It is already such a famous restaurant that I am sure free tap water won't impact their revenues but will only generate positive publicity and heartfulness of an Indian.

OK without being great No menus in French. Everything is in fact quite average, the quality of the dishes, pleasant Tuscan white wine, a little tasteless local amber beer. 45€ per person is not a dream, there are much better traditional Swiss restaurants for around the same price...
