I ordered Gallus Spätzle and It looked like Spätzle soup. We asked before ordering if the Spätzle are fried in butter and he said yes....The Spätzle were soaked in water... I told the waiter and he didn't care at all... My friend talked to the manager but he didn't show any interest as well. Very disappointing. We don't recommend this restaurant.

Nice, old restaurant with delicious food at fair prices.

We were literally kicked out at 10pm today (Monday), even though it was supposed to be open until 11pm. We were able to order the last round at 9:30 p.m., but were not informed that the restaurant was closing in 30 minutes. At 9:50 p.m. the lights were turned uncomfortably bright, a few minutes later the music was turned off and the staff started cleaning around us. Shortly afterwards we were told that they were now closing and we should leave. As we walked out we heard the staff cheering that it was finally time for work. It's a shame, because the restaurant would actually be a good meeting place with an uncomplicated atmosphere.

Very nice restaurant with stylish decor and really good food. Our waitress Nihal was very friendly and accommodating. Top service, thank you! She also recommended a very good wine for us with our meal. We'll definitely be back.

The boss was absolutely unfriendly and wanted me to put the stroller outside even though there was a child sleeping in it. If we didn't clear the path completely, it wouldn't give us anything to drink, even though it wouldn't have greatly hindered our progress. In addition, we should have asked first whether we were even allowed to sit at this table as a group of nine people, even though there was no reservation sign on it. He also took a chair away from us and put it at another table in the walkway and said it didn't belong at our table, even though it remained unused. Disastrous boss, could learn a lesson from the service staff.

Too expensive at lunchtime, for simple people with small salaries. There is no menu for 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Fast and attentive service in a nice atmosphere. The dishes are very fine, the prices are fair. Usually well attended, but you can always get a seat. If you want to eat with more than 2 people, a reservation is recommended... A good restaurant in the center of St.Gallen.

We were guests in the restaurant on the 1st floor with a sports group (23 people). The reservation and support around the event was super friendly and accommodating. The food was very tasty and we didn't have to wait long, even though we ordered à la carte. Many thanks to the team & Danina :)

The 'Marktplätzli' is known throughout the city and impresses with its quality awareness.

You are not welcome there with a stroller. The waiter was also very arrogant!

Price-performance ratio is not right here at all. You starve while eating and are then surprised when the bill comes.

Unfriendly Austrian waiter who warned us with a disrespectful click of his tongue that we were not allowed to sit down. So we decided to leave the restaurant. The gentleman would be better off in a job without any contact with guests.

Went out to eat at short notice, not that easy in the old town on Monday. But it fit wonderfully and the food was very good. Service was also top notch. We can only recommend it.

There used to be very good tarte flambée here. Now we were disappointed. Produced on an assembly line with cheap meat instead of bacon...

Unfortunately, the salad bowl was a failure. Salmon bowl just lettuce, orange pieces and salmon. There was nothing more to it. Should be called salmon salad rather than bowl. But even then the price is not justified. Fries were okay. Service friendly, just inattentive. It took a while until it was possible to order. Price performance for the food there is not good. It's a shame

You can't go wrong with the bratwurst, it was delicious. Unfortunately, the potato salad wasn't a highlight. The children enjoyed the children's menu and the hamburger was well received. So far friendly, very central, nicely furnished.

Well prepared cuisine in a rather extensive and varied menu, and an addition with seasonal dishes. Very pleasant space and well set table with quality napkins. The food well presented and very tasty. The wine list is very varied but with high prices. Very professional service.

The service was nice. The pumpkin cream soup was delicious. We would have expected honey for the CHF 7 tea, but all we got was sugar. The salmon fillet was small and overcooked, very crispy. It's not a bad restaurant, but as much as it wants to look elite, it has just as many shortcomings.

The food was delicious, especially the berry tiramisu! The service wasn't that attentive, they don't really respond when you call them and want to order or pay.

For me one of the best sausage cheese salads in SG. I like coming here even if the price is a little higher.

Went on a sunny afternoon. Got a place without waiting and somewhat shaded. So far so good. They however couldnt help with allergies and service seems lackluster. Slow delivery and too expensive for what we got. So far that unfortunately seems to be the standard for Swiss bistro s

4 Fr for 2 tablespoons of onion sauce is laughable. Portions too small for the price. Unfortunately it was the last time there

Lunch again after years. I'm from SG. Price quite high. Food quality good, quantity moderate. Positive: Food came quickly and was warm. In my opinion, however, there is no comparison to “before”.

It's a nice restaurant in itself, but people don't like to serve people facing the street and the drinks are overpriced.

Stopped there for a Saturday lunch and was disappointed both in terms of service time (45 minutes between ordering and getting the food) and food quality. I had the pork schnitzel and my mom ordered the fried fish, both of which were overpriced for what you get. The interior of thr restaurant looked nice enoufh and the menu seemes quite large. Nonetheless, I won’t be going back.

For lunch on the third day of the tour~ we served curry soup with bread, the main meal was fried fish fillet and potatoes 🥔, and the dessert 🍮cake🍰!

We enjoyed the food. The tarte flambée and the crispy dough with fries were delicious, the spaetzlis were great. When we received the bill it was a shock! We also ordered three Virgin Mojitos, a 3 dl glass cost CHF 13.80! There wasn't a drop of alcohol in that little glass. One server was a lovely person, while the other two couldn't even laugh. A pity! A real rip off! Once and never again!

The food is likely to be purchased at a very low cost to ensure maximum profit. So it's better to have a snack somewhere else! Never this restaurant again! The previous reviews are completely incomprehensible!

We were asked three times what we wanted even though we weren't ready yet, the food was cleared away even though we hadn't finished the starter and the main course was already ready... the staff was also rather unfriendly.

In the Marktplatz restaurant you can eat delicious food and enjoy good beer. However, the prices are a bit expensive and don't really reflect what you get. The ambience on the ground floor is reminiscent of a brewery style. It's sociable and the high ceilings give the room a lot of volume. On the upper floor you can dine in a more dignified manner in an upscale atmosphere. The tables are set and it is quieter.

I was always very satisfied. But the price of 3dl of water costs 5.70 francs, which is far too expensive. There was no response to the email on Sunday. So I assume you don't care about the customers. It is completely clear to me that prices are rising, but water for 5.70 francs is far too expensive. Therefore I will no longer come to you. I was a good customer, but I don't notice that you appreciate this. Not responding to emails says it all

It's not a bad restaurant except for the strong smell of cigarettes at the entrance.

This was the best meal of my trip to Switzerland. The restaurant ambience and service are amazing. I especially recommend the iron pot beef stew with red wine, it is really excellent and delicious.

It's very elegant. The rooms are pleasant and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is presented perfectly, both visually and taste-wise. I felt like I was from the upper echelon of society. I would love to come back.
