Max-Moriz in Aarau

My first and last vegan brunch. There is simply a lack of variety. Many ingredients are used to make dishes taste similar to meat products. This is not healthy in the long term. Plus, the original still tastes better. The staff is very friendly, hence the 3 stars.

Brunch at Max and Moritz was a thoroughly successful experience. The food was excellent, the service was extremely friendly and the team was young and dynamic. The furnishings were comfortable and the price-performance ratio was very convincing. I'd be happy to come back!

The brunch is good and the service is very good. However, the tables are far too small and there is very little space. This was our third time here with our son (1.5 years). This time we had to pay 15 francs for him and he only had a glass of orange juice and a piece of foccacia. You shouldn't have to pay for children under 3, as the little ones still eat very small amounts.

In general it was a nice experience in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was nice. What really bothered me, however, is that cow's milk is offered (even as the first option by the waiters and also on the menu, oat milk is marked with a star at the bottom). The restaurant is labeled as vegan and, however, offers animal cruelty products. I spoke to 2 waiters and the reason was that there are guests who don't like oat milk. Then my question is: If someone doesn't like the vegan cold cuts at brunch, will they also offer pork salami? I don't think so. Why does this happen with the milk What's more, there are now "milk" from around 20 different sources such as peas, oats, almonds, rice, quinoa etc. and certainly over 100 variations from different brands. It simply doesn't make sense to offer cow's milk "because some customers just don't want oat milk like". That's why Max Moriz is a vegetarian restaurant and not a vegan one. I hope that the restaurant consistently offers ethical products again.

Vegetarian is also delicious. If you don't believe it, you should visit Max-Moriz. Great staff, cozy atmosphere, delicious but very small “selection” of warm dishes, terrific carrot cake. Lovely again.

Unfortunately, I'm disappointed with my visit there for brunch. As a vegan foodie, I like to be surprised. I was here too, but unfortunately not positively. The service is great, the food is so-so, the selection is extremely limited (qualitative - not quantitative...is it just me or is there always the same thing everywhere?!?) and the location...well it's not my thing. As we all know, taste is subjective - move a few more plants and some furniture, arrange everything nicer and I might not feel like someone who was sent to laugh in the basement next to the pipes ;) And a little more creativity when it comes to eating would be cool - if you're going to have curry with rice and simple pasta, then please make it taste a little more delicate. Conclusion: Clear room for improvement!

I often came here to pick up lunch or to eat at the restaurant itselfe. I really like to vegetarian/vegan food the offer. The have a few different menus each day and a buffet. Both is highly recommandable.

Vegan restaurant and bar. The lunch buffet is very nice and the staff is very nice and attentive. You get two homemade vegan curries and vegan sandwiches in the evening. It is definitely a must go in Aarau's old town. Sitting outside in the summer is wonderful. There you have peace and quiet from traffic and still a lively atmosphere thanks to the people walking through the city. In the evening you can also sip a few cocktails, What more could you want in summer?

We made a reservation two weeks ago and were thrown out 10 minutes later because there was a new rule change (from 9 p.m. only 20 year olds are allowed to stay in the store). Mein absolut liebster Brunch ist der vom Max-Moriz. Für 40 Stutz gibt es alles, was das vegane Herz begehrt. Neu sogar mit Vorbestellung & Abholung, damit man auch zuhause am Sonntag brunchen kann, top! Die Preise sind an der oberen Grenze, aber das Essen ist auch immer sehr fein. Auch das Silvester-Dinner 2019 war super! Einziger Minuspunkt: es gibt viel zu wenig Auswahl an Glutenfreiem. Das geht in der heutigen Zeit einfach nicht mehr. Wenn das noch angepasst wird, könnten es locker 5 Sterne geben.

Auch kein Problem. Aber das muss man mir ja sagen. Ich musste danach fragen, wie das läuft. Ein Tablett gab es auch nicht. Bin also 2 Mal mit Tassen und Tellern runtergelaufen.
