Fun pub on the edge of the Thun old city. Food is great with a surpringlly broad selection. Beer selection is not wide, but good. Monday pub quiz nights are packed (good quizzes and quizmasters), so need to book a table in advance.

A very interesting bar with a decent selection of drinks. A star deduction for the service, because in England as well as in Ireland, if the guests don't know whether a certain variety tastes good or not, they let the guests try a sip and then, if they like it, they are happy to buy a pint and more. They don't offer anything like that here and if the beer 🍺 doesn't taste good, bad luck. So if you want to bring certain things and traditions into the country, please do so with all the advantages and disadvantages and only then will it become an Irish pub or something similar. But I still left satisfied and I can happily recommend Super Bock if someone likes normal beer 🍺 and not a perverse e.g. sweet or 🍎 taste

Unfortunately, I've never eaten at McArthurs, but I've heard from other guests that the burgers and fries are excellent. Plus lots of LIVE football broadcasts in a very peaceful and cozy atmosphere! Highly recommended!

Very tasty beer. Bomb fries with cheese. Bartenders will always cheer you up and help you with your choice. Pleasant atmosphere, like home. One of the establishments that is open until Poznan. Great place to relax with friends.

Questionable beer selection, disappointing for a pub. I can also go to the Coop for Feldschlösschen and Valaisanne. All that remains is a Guinness, red ale or Grimbergen (what is this doing in a pub??!). I then had to resort to the Valaisanne juicy IPA, which unfortunately wasn't bitter at all, but was too malty a disappointment. It was probably too naive of me to expect good English beer at a bar with "pub" in the name... The bar actually looked decent otherwise. But just: the palate drinks with you.

Loved the food. Fries are amazingly crisp and the pies are a hit indeed. Only minus point are the toilets - must be upgraded. Other than that amazingly delicious food, a must try if you are visiting Thun. 🤩😍

I've yet to find an Irish pub with bad food. This one didn't disappoint either. We picked the Cottage pie with minced meat, carrots and peas filling with a potato topping (CHF21.50). Like all pies it was served with heavenly crispy fries and baked beans. The baked beans were bland, but because everything else on the plate was awesome, I don't even care. The staff were a friendly bunch too. If I had to nitpick anything. It'd have to be the bathroom downstairs which was in need of some serious renovation and a good scrubbing. Very grungy and dimly-lit interior like any traditional pub. Two Mondays per month they have Quiz Night if you're into that kind of thing.

Self service, but the staff was mostly friendly! Chicken wings & the chili were good, fish & chips, what can I say, English cuisine! And they are known for their hamburgers! Beer was good and good atmosphere!

We loved it here so much that we had to go back another day. The food is fantastic, the staff is very outgoing and fun, and the whole atmosphere is nice. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

Nicely decorated pub - Quiz Night a must!

It's a bar, so expect sports and loud folks. Very friendly and clearly marked vegan options on menu, very generous portions. The vegan burger with salsa was too salty, but the vegan pie was good.

The burgers 🍔 are absolutely amazing. They are always freshly prepared and served with fries and a small salad. I will definitely go to McArthurs again to eat a burger.

A small bar that is open until late in the city of Thun in Switzerland. There aren't many of those. The food is not varied but really tasty. The bartender's service is very kind. The atmosphere was excellent, of course it depends on the people you come with 😉

We went to watch Ireland vs France and we really enjoy it, professional staff, busy little pub, good pub food, we had the chip or french flies as our American friends call them and they where very tasty i seen others having fried chicken looked great, but when i seen tge loaded nachos i wish i had ordered that 🤣

Great typical Irish pub with good food and a large selection of drinks. Multiple screens with live football. Nice service, served quickly. We even had the BL singles game at 3:30 p.m. shown on a screen for us.

You can get decent beer and cider here, the bar food is good. Fortunately the haggis crisps (well, you have to try them) don't taste like haggis, unfortunately the bacon crisps don't taste of bacon. There is an idiot's lantern in the corner (useful for rugby matches) but usually showing 22 overpaid snowflakes kicking a ball round a lawn - it doesn't dominate the whole pub if you don't want to watch (a big plus)
