Spectacular promontory with a lodge, restaurants, gift shop. I took time off from a business trip to take the water taxi from Lucerne to the cograil train to the top from Alpnachstad. On the train, I met a delightful family from the Netherlands, a veterinarian, his wife, and kids. We had a great time on the ride up. Once at the top, I enjoyed a drink on the patio, wandered through the stoney passageways, and then took the first of three gondolas back down. At the station, I exited the gondola and started my hike to the bottom, where I joined the gondola crowd at the bus station in Kriens for the very short trip back to the Lucerne train station, completing my journey.

La subida en cuestión se hace en dos tipos de teleférico, uno con capacidad para unas 4 personas que lógicamente por motivos del covid no puede compartirse con quienes no son convivientes y otro de mayor tamaño con capacidad (en condiciones normales) para unas 50 personas. El primer teleférico hace una parada a varios miles de metros de altura, desde donde las vistas ya pueden calificarse como impresionantes, si bien, desde ahí hasta la cima del “monte pilatus” el ascenso, el cual es prácticamente vertical, se hace en el teleférico de más capacidad. El tiempo total de subida es de unos 20 minutos, y sin duda merece la pena. Ambos teleféricos cuestan en el billete conjunto 54 francos suizos (unos 49€/persona). Dejar el coche en el parking unas 3 horas cuestan aproximadamente diez euros. Es aconsejable, aún en primavera ir fuertemente abrigado y preparado para rachas de viento bastante violentas. Una vez arriba hay un par de cafeterías y tiendas de souvenirs.

Magnifique vue depuis le sommet, la montée à pied est assez dure en terme de dénivelé mais pour les amateurs de randonnée, je conseil fortement ! Possibilité de monter la totalité en télécabine (2 stations intermédiaires si vous souhaitez combiné marche et télécabine). Accrobranche, place de jeu et bob à la 2ème station, de quoi passer un bon moment en famille !

Not an easy hike, we started from Eigenthal but there are shorter routes. Hike took about 4-5 hours at steady pace with a break at Hergiswil. Views absolutely breathtaking and well worth it!

Explendido. Fui em set/2017. Subimos de teleférico e descemos de trem de cremalheira. Partimos de Lucerna no onibus nº 1 (ponto em frente a estação de trem de Lucerna) – direção Kriens-Obernau – e descemos na Linde-Pilatus. Atravessamos a rua e subimos uma pequena ladeira para chegar na bilheteria do teleférico. Que visual. Na descida, pegamos o trem de cremalheira até a estação Pilatus em Alpnachstad. Na estação, pegamos o trem até Lucerna. O visual da descida é completamente diferente da subida. Vale fazer assim para comparar. Uma experiencia fascinante. Uma pena que não tinha neve.

Numa das muitas viagens pelo mundo.... comendo fondue de queijo ( pela primeira vez, em 1964)no alto do Pilatus!!!!!! Inesquecível !!!!!!!! Foram tempos bons!!! Saudade !!!!!

I must admit what an a amazing weekend we had there! First the way of getting there 30 minutes gondola ride: the gondola that gives you marvelous view from start to the end! You start with green fields and end up with scenery covered in snow! You can make breathtaking pictures during your ride. If you booked hotel which I recommend you to do at least one night stay, you are going to enjoy. We had a good deal which included gondola tickets( surprisingly valid for couple of days), dinner and breakfast. But let me go back to the Mountain 🙂 the moment you exit the gondola feast for the eyes begins! After you did your check in ofc. Much more easier to explore without your luggage of course. The moment you are there you have bin hit with view after view after view! Birds flying singing, clouds that look like cake topping that you can cut with a knife, surrounded by many mountains and snow! I can only imagine how it is in spring/summer season. The hotel stuff were super friendly, rooms better than expected for 3star hotel and food satisfying. Around 6.15 during winter you can witness romantic sunset. And all COVID-19 prevention mesures are taken.

The view is stunning but make sure that the clouds are below Pilatus Kulm (Check the webcams before going up). Once on top there are little trails you can walk along to get the view from all sides. Siamo stati in 4 con due bambine l'anno scorso per visitare i mercatini di Natale. Vista splendida non c'è che dire...ma troppo costosa la salita!!! Uno sproposito per poi vedere 4 bancarelle... Troppo caro e troppa gente.

Für jedes Alter, diverse Level an Wanderungen, selbst wenn man nicht wandern möchte, ist die riesige Plattform zu allen Seiten um das Hotel Kulm herum, bestaunbar auf etlichen Ebenen mit Sitzbänken, Steintreppen ect... Restaurants und self-service, oder Picknick möglich... Atemberaubende Natur zu allen Seiten des Pilatus Dachs.. bei jeder Witterung zu geniessen.

Absolutely amazing place! Mt. Pilatus is a must do when visiting Luzern, it’s just a short bus ride from city centre. Do check the weather first before go there, it’s better to go in the clear day as you don’t want standing in the cloud and see nothing 🙂

One of the highlights of our Switzerland trip this summer. We took the golden pass so we got to get into a cruise, take the world's steepest train up to the top of the mountain, ride the cable car down to farkmuntegg and then the gondola to kriens. From there we got to take the bus which brought us back to the luzern tain station. You can also do this the other way round. Its mostly sunny up there so don't be disheartened if it says it will be rainy (in our case it said there will be a thunderstorm lol). Enjoy! We namen de gouden pas, dus we konden aan een cruise beginnen, 's werelds steilste trein naar de top van de berg nemen, met de kabelbaan naar beneden naar Farkmuntegg en vervolgens met de gondel naar Kriens. Vanaf daar moesten we de bus nemen die ons terugbracht naar het Luzern Tain-station. U kunt dit ook andersom doen. Absolutely a beautiful place to visit in Swiss !! ( world's Steepest Cog Wheel Railway ) From the base we climbed the mountains with cable cars while going up, we will cross many beautiful mountain slopes below us. Starting from the base it will be lush green nature and while climbing up a little bit, we will go through the forest area with many tall trees. After crossing them, we will be surprised to enter the snowy mountains. I think there will be around 3 stops while climbing the mountains. Stop 1 will be at a snow hill, where people will be skiing around. At each stop we will be switching with cable cars and also we are allowed to walk & wander around nature. Stop 2 has many restaurants and cafes. If you carefully notice there is a tunnel-like cave (Dragon Cliff) , where people are allowed to go inside and also it is very long to walk. Be sure to wear good boots as the cave will be full of snow and ice, which is risky & slippery. Only a few people will be there inside and so go along with few mates. Also, locals will play beautiful traditional alphorn music with large musical instruments. (if you have that much patients, you can sit and enjoy that :) ) Stop 3 will be the last one, where we will be taken to the top by a huge Cable Car, there it will show us the 360-degree view of the mountain top. (this is the main spot which we should not miss to visit. We were not lucky enough to climb stop 3, due to time & lengthy queue) The center of attention will be the Cog wheel-rail, which took us down from the beautiful snowy Alps. Note : The Cog Wheel Rails are powered with steam engines during ancient time. You can choose Cable cars / Cog wheel Rail to go up & down based on your choice & package. We booked a holiday package, so after climbing down we were taken for a ferry ride. Which will ride us through the very pleasant and beautiful lake Lucerne. Many holiday packages are available, which is also a little worthy too. So choose one, if you are planning to visit Mount Pilatus / Swiss.

Ich war sehr zufrieden mit der Verteilung der Personen in den Gondeln. Auf dem Pilatus viel Platz zum draussen sitzen oder etwas zu essen. Sauber gehalten ohne Abfall auf den Terrassen. Mit Bähnli runter gute Rundreise Kriens Pilatus und dann Stansstad.

Am schönsten ist die Rundreise ab Luzern Bahnhof nach Alpnach und von da mit der Zahnradbahn auf den Pilatus, oben eine kleine Wanderung und dann mit der Seilbahn wieder zurück nach Kriens und Luzern. Am besten unter der Woche, da am Wochenende eh schon viele Leute diese Rundreise machen.:)

Mount Pilatus is a must-visit destination if you are anywhere near Lucerne. The fun begins as right at the start - the gondola ride up is quite enjoyable with plenty to see. The area at the top offers amazing breath-taking views from many observation areas. There are also tunnels, ridges and other small peaks to explore and you can enjoy a nice meal at the restaurant. At certain times there are musical and other performances. We took the cog train down - a steep, but very nice and comfortable ride down. We did this as part of a 3-part tour so we had a boat-ride back to Lucerne from the base of the mountain. Do yourself a big favor and add this to your agenda.
