Actually, I would have liked to give it 5 stars. Small, but extremely fine. Yesterday the four of us were in the neighbor's garden. 2x vegetarian, 2x meat/fish. A wonderful place with excellent cuisine (5 stars). Nina Hollenstein (I assume it was her) took care of us charmingly and confidently - as promised on the homepage (5 stars). Very appealing atmosphere (5 stars). Regarding the 1-star deduction: A new 3-5 gear concept has recently been offered. Unfortunately it is not possible to only order 2 courses. But that would have been enough for us women.

Last Saturday evening my wife and I were in the neighbor's garden at Feldstrasse 22 in the pretty and quiet Winterthur-Veltheim district. From the outside, the restaurant presents itself very discreetly and like the neighbor's pretty single-family home. We are greeted very friendly by the service staff. At 6:00 p.m. there is already a lot of activity in the rather small, cozy and charming restaurant. We quickly receive a glass of Sauvignon Blanc for the aperitif and soon afterwards the menu and wine list. We quickly see that there is only one lady responsible for serving all the guests, but she has everything perfectly under control, is competent, quick, attentive, personable and very friendly. Our starters and main courses are beautifully presented and taste wonderfully good. And the portions are huge and we are blessed with a healthy appetite. Unfortunately, this meant that we no longer wanted to order any of the advertised homemade iced coffee, not even half a portion. Rather, we take leftovers home with us in the doggy bag. In summary, we spent a great evening here - in this harmonious and lovingly furnished location - with very tasty food and great service. From our point of view, the dishes could undoubtedly be resized and we could have ordered a dessert. We'll do it again on our next visit.

We really enjoyed the food from starters, main courses to desserts. We were here with our two children, who were allowed to order very good chicken nuggets with fries upon request. We'd love to come back!

Yesterday I was in the neighbor's garden for the first time. Simply sensational! Exactly how gastro works! Top service and top food!

The neighboring garden is a wonderful (feel-good) oasis for culinary delights Flights of heights in the pretty and quiet Winterthur-Veltheim district. It's worth making a reservation, we were warmly welcomed by the very attentive staff and we were able to take a seat in the secluded garden. The food tasted wonderful and the wine recommended by the staff elegantly rounded off the fine meal. We recommend.

Very kind staff, good food, good atmosphere. The waitstaff had a very flawless appearance and went for it’s details with explaining from it’s menu card over to other kind exchanges. For the food we only gave 4 stars since smn of us was vegan and they had only a few or even only 1 vegan “mail meal”. But as well in general we gave a 4 star for it’s food but it was satisfying of course!

We spent a wonderful evening. The food was beautifully presented and the hospitality left nothing to be desired.

I've wanted to visit this place for years and finally made it happen last week. The atmosphere is really unique, cozy, warm and familiar. The food is great both in terms of taste and appearance and leaves you wanting more. Above all, we liked the highly motivated and warm nature of the service employees. Our industry needs people like that more than ever - great cinema!

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the vegetarian offering. I googled veggie restaurant and Neighborhood Garden was suggested to me. There were only 2 vegetarian options on site (1 of which was spaghetti). That is very inadequate.

The quality and presentation of the food was wonderful and the service was outstanding! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and will definitely return! It has a warm & welcoming ambience inside and looks like the garden area will be beautiful once the west warms a bit too!

Simply great. Small but super fine and above all... creative menu, good selection of drinks (especially lots of regional wine) and one of the most courteous service experiences I've ever had. What makes Neighbor's Garden unique is the ambience in the smallest of spaces. As comfortable as in your own living room.

The cordon bleu was incredibly tasty. The place is cozy. You feel like you're sitting in your friends' living room. I recommend making reservations as there are very few spaces.

What a successful evening. A really wonderful ambience combined with a very cheerful Maren in service and two experienced pairs of hands in the kitchen who rightly did their part to ensure that no wish remained unfulfilled. Despite the long wait for service, the food was good. Not the very best, but very good higher average. Perhaps the impression was also influenced by the sometimes long wait (especially for the aperitif). Wine recommendations were good and all in all I'll definitely come back... You just have to have enough time...

Our meal was excellent. My fish was perfectly fried and seasoned, the tarte flambée with mushrooms was very generously topped and also very tasty. The service was very attentive and personable. The only downside was that we couldn't tip by card (according to the information, it's not possible for accounting reasons). Unfortunately, we couldn't leave a tip - but the waiter was still very understanding and thanked us several times. I'd love to come back soon.

If you had the chance to read my review of the "Nachbarbox" , also a small fast (finger) food restaurant a couple of meter away from this one, you will be amazed that they belong to the same owner meaning the quality here is also not an exception. More formal, also small but food is fantastic, they go to the detail, the presentation and the service. Talking about prices is Switzerland is reactive, as this country is expensive for everyone. I do not want to say it's an expensive restaurant but it goes according standard's of living and here you'll pay what you get I just can say... have a visit, you will not regret it.

We were here for lunch on Saturday afternoon. It is a beautiful location that has been furnished with attention to detail. However, it is advisable to visit this location on a nice day so that you can sit outside in the “garden”. Unfortunately, it's a bit tight inside due to the old building and, depending on the space, it drafts! Unfortunately, the ventilation is unable to keep the smells of the kitchen out of the guest room. The food was top notch and a real culinary delight. The service that day was also very friendly and attentive. The only “culinary” point of criticism is the coffee. ☕️(I won't go into detail here as this would go beyond the scope of the review). All in all, great and friendly people with a lot of craftsmanship in the kitchen.😊 We'd love to come back!

Food was impeccable and atmosphere was warm, friendly and hospitable. This was my first visit to Winterthur and Switzerland. The rest of the country now has very high standards to live up to!
