Just wow! An incredibly authentic meal and great service. The sweet and sour that was made especially even though it wasn't on the menu was the best I've eaten😍😍😍

The restaurant not only offers excellent food such as homemade spring rolls and generous portions of Pad Thai at a fair price, but it also scores with a great ambience and first-class service. The owner is also very personable. I will definitely like to come back.

Very good food, fast and friendly service. There is a star deduction for incorrect prices at the checkout. I was charged a higher price for the tea than stated on the menu. A month after I reported back, I visited Nam Soup Bar again. When I ordered tea again, the price had still not been corrected.

Nam Soup Bar has been on my radar for a long time. After a wintery stay at the Christmas market, I spontaneously decided to order the Kao Soi to warm myself up. Conclusion: Very tasty and authentic! Immediately reminded me of my vacation in Thailand. The service was nice and the food came pretty quickly. Looking forward to trying the other dishes.

We made reservations for 24 people as we planned a team lunch. The owner took our order the day before so that there were no long waiting times and we could all eat at the same time. The communication and service were great and we were able to enjoy a leisurely lunch despite the lunchtime rush. Many thanks again to the whole NAM team! Well managed :)

Food TOP, the curry soup is great, other dishes have already been tried, it's worth a visit! Staff very friendly and helps with ordering. Card payment no problem.

I had the Pad Krapao, it wasn't particularly good, just a lot of minced meat with no taste. I generally think it's a shame that not a lot of people cook with Thai vegetables, but that's generally rare in Basel.

Very tasty, healthy and fresh food, plenty of choices on the menu (meat/veggie options) and great portions. Staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the owner. Their ice tea is probably one of the best ice teas I've ever tasted!

I have eaten at this place 3 times. 1st time not so bad 2nd time it's ok 3rd time: massive gluten contamination (gluten intolerance/allergy here) - I literally almost died from .... you know what. Unfortunately, the third time I even found an insect in the dish. And there was absolutely no excuse. But beyond that, the most dramatic problem was the gluten that was served. Firstly there was an ordering error, I thought it had been corrected but obviously it wasn't. And honestly, you're lucky I didn't go to the police straight away. This is truly unfortunate and shameful. Never again.

Soup-er nice experience! Been here a few times and the crew is always friendly but not intrusive. Wait times can be a little long in the evening comapred to lunchtime but still bearable. Food is always very flavourful and delicious, and very importantly, served warm! Portions are generous and when you ask for extra spicy, they deliver! Atmosphere is nice and relaxed and is in a great location on the main street in the neighborhood. Some outside seating also available when the weather permits. All in all, highly recommend!

Very good lunch today. Ambiance is okay, a bit rough :) The price is normal for Basel, just over 20 francs for the meal. All in all ok because of the really good food!

I had a vegetable soup with tofu as a main course. Quality of the food was below average for the price range. Hardly any vegetables, tofu only sliced ​​not fried, fried onions out of the package. The waitress was busy with herself. I had to wait a long time. No questions asked as to whether everything was OK or whether I would like dessert/coffee…

Real Thai food 😋 all what we order the test so delicious

We had to wait a long time and there was no service. Others who came after and were served first. After we went to the counter and said that we would like to order something, a young woman came. I told her in German what we wanted to drink & eat and she started speaking in English. Then she said she didn't have a pad with her and as a solution she took out her cell phone and we had to repeat everything again. The food came after about 15 minutes. We had Kao Mok Gai (Thai Biryani Rice) which unfortunately arrived lukewarm and simply didn't taste like anything. With Pad Thai it was just salty and you had to look for the chicken pieces. There were also no bean sprouts. The noodle soup wasn't quite warm either and just didn't have enough good broth. The spring rolls only consisted of white cabbage and carrots. And the best part of all, the glass of red wine was still full of water and the good wine was destroyed. Nobody comes and asks if everything is okay, you have to look for the waitress again. All in all, it's a shame that the taste of the food isn't good, because the concept is not yet represented in Basel. Hopefully the chef will try to bring out the Thai side more in order to do justice to the authentic cuisine. After the visit, we will definitely visit other places that have a better handle on the flavors.

We went there on a whim during lunch and didn't have a great experience. We had to wait 30 min for our water (luckily they didn't charge for it) and then another 15 min for our food. I had the curry because I wanted some veggies but unfortunately that was 90% bamboo only. People were friendly but clearly they are not prepared for full capacity. Unfortunately,I cannot recommend it. Other places in Basel just offer a better option.
