NICE Gastrobar @ Rive in Genève

We were refused the reservation due to holding an Assiette genevoise card. Extremely discourteous welcome. Avoid participating in the operation in these situations.

After a disastrous visit, I can only strongly advise against this restaurant. As soon as I arrived, I was shocked by the filthy state of the place. Dirty, burnt mirrors and smeared oven windows instantly spoiled my appetite. As for the food, the value for money is simply unacceptable. The dishes served were far from justifying the exorbitant prices displayed on the menu. Avoid this place at all costs, unless you are a fan of disappointments and unpleasant surprises.

The octopus dish was good but rather small. Prices are very high for what is offered. The service is acceptable but nothing exceptional. Unfortunately, the emphasis seems to be on profit above all else, a tendency all too common in Geneva. It should be noted that the servers are visibly cross-border.

Restaurant absolutely not up to par. The main course is cold, the sea bream is of very average quality. The drinks (kir) are not good. It's not crème de cassis but denner syrup. Avoid in Geneva.

The fruit tartars and carpacio are excellent.

Very good meal! The service was impeccable: good food, beautifully prepared, very pleasant staff! The place is also very pretty! Sofia said the oysters were very, very good.

One of our favourite hidden addresses in Geneva! First of all we love coming back and being welcomed by Tanguy who is always friendly, professional and fast in his service. The menu is relatively simple but all of it is very tasty (we have by now tried most of the menu). My personal favourite is the topless burger with lobster! The prices overall are not cheap but in line with the quality of the food offered. Last but not least the decor is very beautiful. Definitely recommend this place and will definitely return as well!

An excellent discovery! The dishes are perfectly executed with fresh and authentic products! A little explanation from the chef and that’s it. We had a lovely time and each dish made our mouths water from aperitif to dessert! The prices are particularly absorbable for the quality of the product. We will come back, for sure! Perfect from A to Z. More than perfect service. Fast, pleasant and very helpful, the waiter was able to welcome us properly. The food is of very good quality, and the portions are generous. The setting of the restaurant is great, a warm little place that enhances your meal. Thank you again for this experience, we will come back.

We ate there for lunch in Rive and unfortunately came out disappointed. The setting is pretty and the service pleasant. The staff made a mistake on a starter serving us a tuna carpaccio instead of scallops which we accepted due to lack of time. The lobster burgers are made with industrial bread (Migros sesame burger buns I would say), a bit surprising for a restaurant that aims to be rather upscale. The burgers are served cold and involve more assembly than cooking. The potato accompaniment consists of 5 boiled potatoes with a pinch of salt and a turn of the pepper mill. Overall, the image that the restaurant conveys unfortunately does not live up to its cuisine. So we won't be going back there. To end on a positive note, the sea bass crudo and tuna carpaccio were very good, as were the wine and beer.

Excellent seafood restaurant. We had a very pleasant time, ending with a sublime chocolate fondant.

First time in this restaurant which I didn't know at all and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes. From starter to dessert everything was good, special mention for the fish soup which I found exquisite, the young woman in the kitchen does an excellent job as does the young man who welcomes us and serves us the dishes. Both are very professional, well done to them.

4 stars We were very well received, relatively quick service (one person in the dining room and one person in the kitchen) the server was very efficient. We started with a scallop carpaccio for my taste, too much lemon and Yuzu balls hiding the taste of the scallops a little. The sea urchin adds a nice touch. I had a tuna carpaccio, the fish was excellent and the wasabi cream accompanied the fish perfectly. We also had a small excellent seaweed salad, the sauce was perfect, really very good. For main course we had two premium bowls The fish are very good and of good quality. I don't understand the presence of the tomato in the bowl, especially in January The rice is good but it has waited, we feel that it is not possible to make it at once given the lack of equipment in the kitchen. As for desserts, we had one around apple and one around chocolate. The desserts are good on the apple side (homemade) the cake was good the strawberry ice cream good but a little too sweet for my taste. As for chocolate (not homemade but Geneva) the cake was good and the chocolate ice cream was very good. The desserts overall are good but are not a must have. The price is high but largely justified by the price of the ingredients. We came with the Geneva base card and paid 125.-. Count 230.- for two people without Geneva base.

Superb warm place on a human scale. Cooking is done in front of the counter. High quality products, top notch staff.

Absolutely shocking food. Crab was completely frozen and when it thawed it smelled! Service was worse than non existent!

A nest of kindness. Boss listens. Very good service. Very pleasant place on the terrace as well as inside. When it's cold, "furs" on the seats. Blankets available. A giant discovery for this small space from which the boss made magnificent use of it. No blaring music. Absolutely recommended

The worst customer service experience. The waiter literally kicked out my friends and I, being a woman of color I found this behavior deplorable and disrespectful. Knowing that we had reserved a table before but the waiter didn't want to know anything. I do not recommend this restaurant.

DON'T EAT HERE!!! We had the worst costomer service and food experience here (and we are not the picky/demanding customers usually). We had dirt/sand in our 30 euro ceasar salads which made them inedible (very crunchy in the wrong way) and the man in the kitchen admited to not washing the salad while the two waiters kept saying/yelling that it was pepper (there was no pepper in the salad and it was very obviously dirt). They were extremely rude and yelled at us and also threatened to call the police when we said that we would not pay for the sallad that we did not touch. We ended up paying as the situation became threatening (we were two young women and our small babies eating there) but would like to let everyone here know that this is a place to avoid if you like your food edible and experience enjoyable!

Good little restaurant for drinks & tapas with some original dishes offered à la carte, as well as oysters and seafood.

The strong point of this small eatery for sure was the service: friendly, helpful, attentive. Definitely a 4 to 5 out of 5. What could be improved from my perspective is the concept of not cooking ‘sur place’ but at some remote kitchen. A look at food prepared on the ground and then served inflight on a good airline’s First or Business Class food may help to elevate the food experience. My evaluation has been made against a total of 11 weighted criteria.

Incredible lunch in this restaurant, it was really excellent! The tastes of my dishes were incredible, I took 2 starters (fish soup and hummus). And for dessert, the thyme crème brûlée, just perfect!

Since the Halloween plans were gone, and the weather was bad, I said I would treat myself to a Halloween brunch in Geneva in one of the most beautiful seafood restaurants in Geneva. Don’t feel like you are eating seafood. Today myself and my business partner tried to have lunch at this restaurant... The place has 5 tables, 4 people working there plus the manager and we could think it would be fast because nothing is cooked there... but no, it just toke forever. But that was the best part... They have a lot of wines in the list but strategically the options that are good wines are between one of the expensive bottles (the cheaper ones somehow are not available) or average Champagne for 250 francs. We had a bottle of white wine for 190 francs, I would have bought one for 90, but was really between no wine, average champagne for 250, bad wine or 190. We eat some oysters to start. And after we had 3 small starter dishes to share between the two of us. One Tuna (was actually supposed to be Toro), one salmon tartare, and one crab tartare. All of them tasted bad... I mean, bad! We only gave a bite to each, and I couldn't even swallow the Toro. (Which just that costs more than 50 francs). We cancelled the main dish as soon as we tasted the starters... I am not that concerned with the fact that the food is not good, that the chef should go back to school and start again because the combined ingredients he served us made no sense at all.... What I am concerned is that someone can go to the hospital because the food they are serving had many days and can literally make you sick. When confronted with that the manager left the restaurant... and the waiters tried pretending that the food wasn't minutes away from being rotten... but they did confess to us that they thought the food "should be fresh" because it is delivered to them from a central kitchen... :). We are talking about raw seafood... (e.g: If anyone here ever had a clam in the mouth that tasted bad knows what I am talking about...) They made us pay for all the starters even when we barely touched (1 fork in two of the starters and one third that I didn't swallow - I haven't done that since I was a toddler). I decided it would be a good idea to pay 100% so that I have total legitimacy to write this story many years after writing any comment here. I truly believe the responsible authorities should visit this place, no one should be allowed to serve raw seafood that is not fresh at all. After paying 350 francs there for 2 we had to go to a restaurant and had lunch. Taking into consideration what we paid, that we had to have lunch after, and the fact that we both were afraid to get sick this was without a doubt the worst meal of my life (and of my business partner too).
