Non La in Basel

We really enjoyed our dishes. We visited on a Saturday evening and it was full, so reservations are recommended ;-) The service was very friendly. We'd love to come back!

Very good food and great staff!

Simply a taste experience!! The dish “Bún bò nam bô” (see F.) has remained relatively true to traditional Vietnamese cuisine, which I like very much. As you can see, the plate has also been beautifully prepared. Definitely worth a visit!

The food tasted very tasty, the service was quick and friendly. It also has plenty of seats/tables available. I would like to try another dish :)

Food fantastic Vietnamese, as was the service! Really a good choice for a sociable dinner! But I wouldn't go with my grandparents who have a bit of hearing problems. You sit rather close to the other guests, which is why it is a little louder. Still a clear 5 out of 5 stars.

Visiting from the US and on a blustery afternoon decided to stop in here on a whim. WHAT A FREAKING FORTUITOUS DECISION! Some if the best Vietnamese food we have ever had. We got the summer rolls, the chicken satay, and beef pho to start, but we couldn’t stop and had to have more - chicken wings and vietnamese coffee for dessert! What an amazing experience. You have to eat here!

Being Vietnamese and probably a little bit more critical when it comes to Vietnamese food, I can confidently say this is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Basel! Best price/quality with generous portions and friendly service. Highly recommended!

My experience with Asian cuisine is that it is not very consistent. At Non La it is also delicious three times and then another somewhat successful menu follows. The people are friendly and attentive. The flair/ambient is not very inspiring and is more reminiscent of an aquarium.

It’s a pleasant self service Vietnamese restaurant with a good buffet and seating areas both outside and inside. We went for an early lunch since it can get busy after noon. The fried rice with curry and duck was nice and inexpensive by Basel standards.

Great Vietnamese food and fantastic alternative to all the Thai restaurants in Basel! The price is rather high, but you get an extremely carefully and high-quality dish! We would love to come back!

Asked to be outside but were not. Hot and stuffy inside . Service was very slow to get a drink and place an order. The team seemed to be too busy outside in the cool taking photos of each other. Food was OK but nothing special Was there on 20th July.

It’s the first Vietnamese restaurant we try in Basel. The smell of the food is very inviting. We passed by this place during lunch and dinner times and it’s always full, which is a good sign. The staff are helpful and the dishes were tasty: rich in many flavors. The prices are good for the portion of food you get.

Apart from the dumplings, all the food here is really very good.👍 The conditions are also very friendly. I can really recommend it. It's a shame that there are no longer tables and chairs in the entire forecourt up to the fountain. We live close by and found it very nice and it was also very comfortable to eat outside. It would be great if this was done again soon.👍

Delicious food at fair prices. I love the iced tea and the duck fried rice noodles. The restaurant at Spalenbrunnen is also very nicely decorated.

It was a bit crowded. The food was good, but too expensive in comparison with other asia restaurants.

Nón Lá is one of the best Vietnamese in all of Switzerland! The dishes are always freshly prepared, with much love and nicely arranged. The staff is very nice and friendly. My favourite spot is Nón Lá at the Markthalle, but also this one at Spalentor has a lot to offer (but a different menu than the other branches!) In summer, you can sit outside an enjoy the nice view next to a fountain and Spalentor.

Vietnam. Kitchen, Schützenmattstr. 1, served by: Silvi - very unfriendly! Grandfather with sticks had a birthday, grandson had made a reservation for lunch, 11.30 a.m. for 3 people (number from the internet). Greeting: unfriendly/we don't make reservations! Only had a buffet at lunchtime (quick and cold in the restaurant), were the No. 2 in the restaurant/speech only in English...Scooping while standing at the counter for immediate payment, no warm drink/no tea possible on a cold day! - only coke, water, etc., constant pressure to pay (in the meantime food is cold). Until Oct./Nov. In 2022 it was friendly and accommodating there (we were there 3 times, at lunchtime 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.). There was a pot of warm tea or other drinks, fine dessert with flowers, staff for service and the food was beautifully decorated, very individual. Now: came down to the "canteen without service"/mass processing - inexpensive (SFr. 16.-- to 22.-- per person, drink SFr. 4.--), lots of vegetables, rice and pasta with various sauces/spicy, medium hot.... - easy/take away in pots for students. Lines from door to counter, it's very loud and fast. It's a shame..... The taste was simple, good. Basel, February 15, 2023

This is my first visit to Basel so ofcourse this is the first restaurant here. I am so surprised of their Vietnamese rice noodle soup it is just like the one I can have in Vietnam. Highly recommended!!

Food was wonderful. Nice portions, super tasty and freshly made. Unfortunately the seating was a bit cramped, but we didn't have a reservation, so that's ok. Service still has room for improvement, but friendly and very attentive. Very busy, reservations are an advantage. I'd love to do it again next time, it was so nice.

The Nón Lá restaurant near Spalenbrunnen also offers not-quite-vegan dishes, which is great if someone is vegan and someone is not vegan! The starter and the main course from both of us were very good and tasted delicious. I'll definitely go back occasionally.

Very nice thai restaurant with many traditional thai food options. Good service but very busy on a Friday and Saturday when it is essential to book one of the two sitting options at 6pm and 8pm. Recommend.

Beautiful, tasty, authentic Vietnamese food. One of my absolute favourite restaurants in Basel.

Came for work, fast and friendly service, but my starter was not to my taste and the main course arrived cold, the accompaniment was borderline and bland, no sauce or seasoning, no taste, personally I not liked, to each their own, of course!

I like rolls and chef's fried noodles. They are my favorites in Basel so far. Maybe it's because the friends I travel with are very good people, which makes the food taste better🥰

The food was awesome and so was the service. Everything came quick and was fresh, we had amazing summer rolls, the curry of the day and some ice cream. We will definitely come back soon! Location is easy to reach just cross Johanniter bridge or take the bus to Erasmusplatz, the area around is nice to explore on weekends, there are many bars etc. We felt very comfortable and had a great time - can’t wait to be back.

The food wasn't bad, but in my opinion it wasn't great either. I was a little disappointed because the restaurant used to be full-service, with very tasty food and beautifully presented plates, and now it's just self-service and has a small selection. Of course, the correspondingly cheaper prices are also positive.

We had a box brought home. For CHF 26.00 each (plus expenses for Velogourmet) we would have expected a little more than a big pile of pasta and a few vegetables that were also on top of the salad.

Very, very tasty, absolutely recommended... I actually had fried noodles with tofu skewer in a pepper leaf, but another dish came (rice noodle salad with spring rolls). Don't know if I missed something with the other dish, but this one was excellent :) The other dish (peanut curry) was also incredibly tasty. The presentation is also very great.

Red curry with duck, my favorite. Generous portion at a reasonable price. No table service, but warm service at the buffet counter (you can also have à la carte). The only suggestion for improvement: clean/disinfect tables more often.
