Nufenenpass in Obergoms

Restaurateur who has no gratitude for his passing customers. I will never stop at this place again.

So my meal wasn't bad, had spaghetti napoli and fries. However, my colleague had a salad at the buffet that already had white mold on it. Really unappetizing. I would give the restaurant 2 out of 5 stars because it's a pass. But that doesn't mean you can't make the stuff fresh... You can put a lot more effort into it.

A beautiful place with a beautiful view.

As for the restaurant, it is a tourist service, however I always stop in before going to or returning from Valais. The view of the valley and the mountains is beautiful. It is not unusual to encounter marmots or ibex, sometimes even on the road.

Well, they almost have a monopoly, the staff is friendly. On the other hand, when it comes to cooking, we don't eat for pleasure, we eat for survival. Attention ! If you take change with you, there is a charge for the WC.

Good to have but more of a canteen than a restaurant, good plain food

Decent bowl of gulaschsuppe at a fair price for the location. Good views and as cosy as a buffet-style place could be. 1CHF for the toilet is steeper than the Nufenenpass itself, though!

I broke down near this restaurant, and I was lucky enough to come across a helpful, caring manager who offered me hospitality for a few hours... I'm delighted to have stopped by here!

The Nufenen is always a little neglected. It's a great pass

Some time ago, we had a bad experience in the car, almost as the restaurant closed. The employees helped us by keeping us warm until the tow truck arrived (and that was much later than closing time). On top of all that, they kindly offered us drinks, meals and desserts. They were enormously generous and kind, it's rare to see that these days. Once again, A THOUSAND THANKS! We will be grateful to you for life. I highly recommend this place!

Sumptuous setting with a panoramic view from the terrace which is worth the detour. However, the interior decoration leaves something to be desired (old, dusty, a dusting wouldn't go amiss). The prices are average for pass restaurants, so the quality/price ratio is not exceptional, but that is not a surprise. On a culinary level, I would note the absence of vegetables with the dishes, the latter of which are of average quality.

Nothing special, just a highly passing, tourist place, on the top of the pass.

Eating with the most beautiful view you could wish for. And then also delicious goulash soup. Whenever we are in the area we always stop by.

The restaurant on the Nufenen Pass is open again, a visit is once again a pleasure, and if the weather is right, a great view. Anton Oppliger

A great place to stop, take in the views and get some hot food in you. Basic but good enough quality and plenty of choice. A welcome stop.

Stopped here for some great food. Self-service restaurant, but quick. Highly recommended for a stop on you tour of the Alps.

Great landscape and very easy to drive.

Beautiful pass that leads from Ticino to Valais, you can stop at Pian del Cioss for a snack or lunch, games for children in summer, and skylift in winter before the climb....very well maintained road, top landscape

The restaurant is average. There are some beautiful views along the way to the top. It is worth stopping at the restaurant and enjoying the scenery.

Nice step to take on a motorbike

Like a "lost place" from the 70s. Original 70s exterior, rustic interior with wooden furniture. You came in and felt like you were “back in the good old days,” whenever those were. Food was good, service too, weather moderate. There was enough parking space, but something could be done. But that's probably a canton matter. Worth a visit, also because of the fantastic view and the good fries.

We've encountered friendlier staff in mountain restaurants, and my almond croissant wasn't the freshest either.

Typical pass restaurant with good food and plenty of choices. Staff looked a bit worn out and the service was not great but overal a nice place for a lunch.

Beautiful location! Restaurant a flop for us. Expensive cheese sandwich that was clearly overdue. After reporting this, it was only after insistence and discussion with the boss that they were finally willing to give a fresh one. Toilet costs Chf 1.00. Even if you are a guest at a restaurant

Great! I have never seen such sheep in my life, they are incredible, I am amazed! Better than mountains, there can only be mountains! Rest in the mountains is exactly what you should decide on. Beautiful and very picturesque scenery, the mountains are beautiful! This is an amazing difference in plants, there are no trees on the tops, there are none at all... It's quite cool, we left Lugano with a temperature of 37 degrees in the shade, here at the top it's 11, the difference is quite big, you need to think about warm clothes.

It is worth visiting by car - great views, but be careful in winter it may be inaccessible or difficult to access.

Magnificent nature Photos 10/29/22

Unfortunately the restaurant was already closed on October 11th, which was in the middle of the fall school holidays. So there was something brought with us... The view from the parking lot is great, how far you can see and how many mountain peaks - including snow-covered ones - you can admire.

Food, view, terrace, service, tip top

I only write reviews when I am particularly impressed... and here unfortunately in a negative way! Despite the spectacular nature of the place, this "restaurant" is decadent: at the entrance you can smell mold, beyond the old (and unhygienic in my opinion) furniture, the quality of the coffee has also remained "behind". We got an artisanal Nussgipfeli which wasn't cheap (3chf) and looked promising but turned out to be dry, hard and not very tasty! The only positive note is that the bathrooms, at least those, are renovated.

A series of superb natural landscapes that only the Alps can offer, the only discordant note being the speed camera placed in the middle of nowhere in the only straight stretch along the climb from Airolo towards the pass.

We stopped at the restaurant on the novena for a quick meal and were welcomed impeccably. All the staff were very kind and let us stay after closing to finish breastfeeding our daughter. If you're passing through the novena, definitely stop by, the cake is delicious!

Always a lovely ride to do on a motorbike. This time it was lunch time, I was traveling alone and I decided to try the polenta with cheese. A SHOW !

The younger members of the staff are a bit, let's call it, reserved. But outside of that everything is very good there. And the panorama from the terrace is unique. It doesn't get any better.

It's so pretty, as soon as I get out of the car the air feels different and very cool. The view is art

friendliness leaves a lot to be desired. Croissants (2 fr) already dry like sawdust at 9 a.m. The view is great, the restaurant can do that 😉

After a pandemic and a forced closure the opening could have been better both for eating and drinking with the service showing that there is no interest in improving and making the CONFEDERATES and other foreign future customers happy, it was not understood that for the catering needs improvement, staff behind the counter very slow.

It is really amazing that person can drive all the way to 2500 m above Sea level at Nufenenpass. It’s a nice spot to stop and check around or have a lunch.

What you are offered here in the restaurant is an absolute disgrace! Croissants are not fresh at ten in the morning and taste like they are two days old. The prices for the food you get here are also a disgrace. I understand that there is more work on a pass. But unlike this "restaurant" everything is better. It's better to take your own food, it's really not worth it.

Unacceptable, restaurant closed on June 12, a Sunday with good weather. A real scandal after the Covid closures. More than 100 people were there. Bravo Valais engraved in my heart…. Robert Trachsel, Roche

Most beautiful views. It's basically top of the mountains. Stop over , restaurant and plenty parking for cars and bike. Guess you find snow here all year round

Superb little restaurant to relax a little

Top of the mountain to get to Lugano If you got here Now it's all downhill There are many big trucks on the winding and rough road. There are many riders, but they all drive well. By the way, Rivella is the best drink.

Closed due to "problems with the electricity and water system"

Great scenic pass. Definitely go to Griessee and experience a fantastic mountain landscape. The glacier used to extend into the reservoir and with a bit of luck you could see small icebergs - unfortunately over.

Good food in a great location. The staff seemed a little more tense than before during the Corona period. Large free parking space in front of the house.

Tolles Aussicht. Vor dem Restaurant gibt es genügend freie Parkplätze. Für einen Imbiss oder Zwischenhalt ist das Restaurant gut geeignet. Wir waren positiv überrascht. Soviel Service auf dieser Höhe. Gerne wieder mit einem herzlichen Dank.

Pour une arrêt au col c’est parfait. Self-service à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur. Vous trouver de quoi boire et manger.

Great view and the small lake invites you to have a picnic. It's a shame there aren't any waste bins anywhere.
