Last Saturday we were able to enjoy the surprise menu at the beautiful Old Inn! It was a culinary journey through the chefs' craft. Each course had its own flavor and you could completely let yourself go in this wonderful atmosphere. In our opinion, the Old Inn is one of the absolute best addresses when it comes to modern fusion cuisine. Thank you for your hospitality – we will be back. (Pictures are deliberately left out so as not to spoil the surprise ;))

A great spot for lunch or dinner but I would recommend dinner to be able to take full advantage of the menu! The tasting menu is the way to go, make sure that you are hungry 😀. Great service and ambience and tasty drinks to boot!

Moreish food, friendly, quick service in a cute old pub. Food was lacking a bit of precision in the cooking specifically some dishes a bit over seasoned, octopus was quite tough and pork belly a bit dry. Overall would still recommend.

All very good! We came here intrigued by the good reviews and I can only confirm them: both the cuisine and the cocktails are excellent! We wanted to try the tasting menu and we were surprised: very generous dishes, in fact we weren't able to finish everything and had to ask for a doggy bag. Very abundant but also all very delicious 😋 The waiters were also very nice, in particular Alessandro who recommended various cocktails to us during the evening 🤗 Finally, we were also very happy because they are pet friendly: as soon as we arrived they immediately brought us water for the dog (it's not a given, in many restaurants you have to ask for it) and at the end they gave him a piece of tartare 😆 We will be back for sure!

Fabulous time visiting the Old Inn, such a diverse tasting menu, I’ve never had this in Zurich before. Totally five star rating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The lady that served us was very kind, a lovely touch was the chef coming to speak to us at the end of our meal (sorry can’t remember the name). The venue itself gets 5 stars from me, comfortable relaxing dining in a beautiful building. Very much looking forward to my next visit.

I can’t rate the Old Inn and the team there highly enough. Food is excellent and service is wonderful - attentive and friendly. Food is of high quality and absolutely delicious. Range of choices for all tastes and food needs. Great selection of cocktails and beers too. Great location as well - easy to get to and close to the lake. Highly recommended to all.

Converted pub near Enge train station that offers a great lunch! Staff is friendly, prompt (food came quickly) and accommodating. Drinks are good and the food is simply great (there were three of us there and everyone had a different dish and loved it)! The pork belly (with honey and mustard) is highly recommended! The price-performance ratio is clearly right given the taste, the quality and the ambience!

We came here because we love another restaurant from the owner. Food is as good as expected. Service is the worst. The guy who served us ignored our requests all the time. He didn’t bother to ask for a drink when we arrived. He showed impatience when we order. Didn’t bother to introduce the dishes served. The worst is that he never bothered to talk to the ladies at the table (even when we tried to order more drinks). All asks and conversations were made with the only white male at the table. It’s the first time we (5 friends) come to Old Inn. We are all disappointed. I already made another reservation with a good friend to come next week. I’d like to give this restaurant another chance and see how they gonna treat 3 ladies who are not white. Will report back if our experience is just an unfortunate rare case or meeting the service standard here.

Dishes were brought in front of the men most of the time, although they were meant to be shared among 5. Nobody came to ask to give more drinks except two small bottles of water at the beginning, which were empty right away. The invoice was brought directly to the only white male sitting at the table. Food was fine, but service was insufficient and very disappointing.

Very nice, interesting menu. The pastrami sandwich promised to be like the Katz Deli in NY. It was very tasty but perhaps I expected something more decadent (bigger?). On the other hand it was more than adequate for lunch. Service was fast, efficient and delivered with one of the biggest and warmest smiles I have seen (certainly in Switzerland). I will go back and certainly recommend.

The Old Inn Restaurant in Zurich is a real insider tip for everyone who appreciates good food and a warm atmosphere. From the moment you enter you feel welcome and taken care of. The food is first class, every dish is lovingly prepared and presented. The menu offers a large selection so that every taste is truly catered for. I would particularly like to highlight the staff, who always look after the well-being of the guests and are there to help and advise. It's this personal touch that makes the Old Inn Restaurant special. I'm already looking forward to visiting the Old Inn Restaurant with my friends soon. Reservations are highly recommended as this place is very popular. I look forward to my next visit!

We went there for a girls night recently, and had the tasting menu. The dishes were all delicious and originally presented. The service was perfect, and they didn't rush us at all. At the end, they offered us delicious beignets and they let us chat at the table until very late, without making feel unwelcomed (we were the last customers). Really great place to go I you're a group an looking for a cosy restaurant with great food options for groups.

Very good food with a twist, slightly fusion and special spices, but overall a very tasty experience. They offer either a tasting menu, where chef selects individual elements of the menu or you choose à la carte. For us, the latter was enough with two starters and two mains. The meals are intended to be shared tapas-style. Very recommended!

This was my first time dining at Old Inn and it did not disappoint! I came with a small group and everyone at the table had a great time. The food and ambience were both spectacular. I started off with the Popcorn Old Fashioned which was playful and well balanced. I ordered several vegetarian dishes and my favourites were the Kentucky Fried Artichokes, BBQ cauliflower, Pumpkin and Burrata and Spicy Green Beans. Also, make sure to order the grilled house bread as it's hot, fresh, and perfect for dipping into the sauces the dishes are cooked in. Thanks for a great meal, I can't wait to come again.

What a fantastic restaurant and culinary experience. We're huge fans of Gaijin Izikaya (our favourite restaurant in Zurich) and knew we had to check out the Old Inn. We arrived for the 6pm first service and loved the amazing decor and vibe. The place was spotless, shining, inviting, warm and yet rustic at the same time. We were waited on by "The Enabler" (Richard) who was brilliant 👏. He welcomed us as newbies, guided as through the menu and daily specials and with little effort swayed us to give Chef Tristan's 7+ course tasting menu a go. Every single dish was delicious and left us excited for what was coming next. It was a lot of food to get through, but we came hungry and just about managed everything + a few cocktails. We will definitely be back very soon to start working our way through the rest of the menu. Already our joint favourite restaurant in Zurich.

Visited with a colleague for a quick bite, which is a perfect face for that, Either 1-1 dinner or for a larger group. The bluefin tuna and the popcorn chicken was amazing. Choice of drinks was also plentiful even though we didn’t want to take alcoholic drinks that evening - my colleague was happy with his virgin beer.

If we could give six stars we would! My wife and I visited Zürich for four nights and ate at the Old Inn on the second night. We then went back for the following two nights and each meal was fantastic with incredible detail put into every dish. Our only regret was we wasted the first night in Zürich, not eating at the Old Inn. Everyone that worked there was fantastic and had a great personal touch from Alessandro at the bar who is the master cocktail maker and Richard, Ashley and Linny who helped direct us in making sure we tried all of the tapis menu, which we did just about and all was fantastic. The chef also came out and let us sample a meal that was coming out the following week, which was incredibly tasty. They absolutely live and breathe their business. Could not recommend enough!! Service - absolutely TOP. The food gave me mixed feelings. The fish was TOP, the chicken - slightly oversalted, but edible. It's actually a shame because the rest worked out. The pie with beef and pork was totally over salted, for me - not edible. The rest was tasty - mixed champagne served in wine glasses - the first time it didn't even sparkle, after complaining it was OK. Dessert: the mango tiramisu was great in terms of consistency, but way too sweet, but Pina colada was great. All in all: it was OK, but it didn't blow me away. Definitely - fresh ingredients and good quality. The end was bad: after 2 hours we were asked to go home because the table wasn't taken yet but we had been there too long (free translation/interpretation of what was said). We didn't have time to say a few words Exchange degree. Kind of a shame. The table reservation was not limited in time. The owners are the same as in Gaijin Izakaya, but I felt completely at home there and the food was without exception great.

First of all, I have been to Old Inn several times and food is very good and service has been great. But the last time we went we realized that there was several mistakes with the wine menu (just one example was that a 230chf wine being listed for just 89chf) and we ended pointing this out. While the sommelier was showing the wine he also brought 2 other wines and said 3 times that they cost 230chf. We once more pointed out that's a great price and we will take one of them. Following that he went back to the bar and then came back to us saying that the price was wrong once more (it was 270chf)... after this whole debacle (taking us 30min) the sommelier couldn't even reccomend another wine or try to make it up. In the end (after a 590chf bill just for food and beers, which is fine) they didnt even provide an excuse. This is not acceptable even if the food is good. At this point you should be happy that you have customers not taking advantage of ordering wine that is massively mispriced.

I went to the Old Inn last week for dinner with a friend after hearing good things about it. The interior was very cozy and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed. We were greeted at the door and shown to a lovely booth seat by the window. The waiting staff were very friendly and talked us through the menu, being both vegetarians we were delighted at all the options available to us. We both opted for a ‘custom mocktail’ asking for something citrus toned with some bitters and were thrilled with our prompt arrival of lychee-based bitter highballs while we chose our dishes. We decided to share a few plates so ordered the Kentucky Fried Artichokes, Burrata dish, Confit Chickpeas, and Mushroom Toast. As a vegetarian, sometimes you feel that dishes have been put on the menu for you as an after-thought in a restaurant that offers very opulent meat dishes however this certainly was not the case here. Our meal was very well paced with one plate arriving at a time for us to enjoy. The starting dish of the artichokes blew us away, it was so incredibly delicious we were almost tempted to order a second portion (but resisted knowing we had much more to come). The burrata with homemade focaccia was so sumptuous and packed with a lot of flavour. The chickpeas again was one of my favourites, and we delighted with all the different textures and flavours in the dish! The mushrooms on toast was more for my friend than I as I don’t love mushrooms, but she truly enjoyed it. By this point we were so full we could barely breathe, but it would have felt sinful not to enjoy some desert. We went for the death by chocolate and the Pina colada madeleines to share. Im glad we did! We magically managed to finish it all, the madeleines were so light and the accompanying rum ice cream made it our favourite of the two. All in all, we really enjoyed our meal at the Old Inn and will definitely be back! Thank you for an amazing evening.

Summary: - nice atmosphere - great music - underwhelming food The Old Inn has been on my list for a while and given the good reviews it sounded promising. We were a group of 5 and went for the 7-course tasting menu. It was definitely a lot of food. I would have been fine with smaller servings but with more refined/balanced dishes. Quite a few courses had what I believe was a truffle mayonnaise, which gave a very heavy touch more on the mayonnaise side than on the truffle end of the spectrum. Also the other dishes were throughout very dominant on one ingredient. The waiter that took our orders was very nice and noted down that 1 person did not want to eat onion & egg. We ended up getting a mushroom dish with lots of onion and a punched egg on top. So nothing would have been easier to make 1 version of it without egg and onion. In restaurants of that price point things like this are normally not an issue. To the question if we should use our spoons from the previous dish for the next one we just got an: "how else do you want to eat it?" An alternative answer could have been: "yes, but I am happy to bring you a clean one if you prefer" (not that we wanted fresh spoons) Overall the combination of price / quality & experience was not a match for us. I would be happy to see it improving as the place as such has potential.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Keep up the good work guys. Chef Tristan is truly an artist. Masterful coordination and execution in the kitchen. I had the tasting menu, and he was sure to personally check-in to ensure my satisfaction. Richard was my server and was one of the highlights. He was clearly extremely knowledgeable with the dishes and helped pace the meal. He made great conversation and seemed genuinely engaged. There were many great dishes, but the pork cheek, squid, and surprisingly the roti were unforgettable. Highly recommend this place!

Wonderful place to be in and great atmosphere, however the food didn't wow us at all. Went with some friends whilst in Zurich and we had been excited by the pictures of other reviews and website. My advice: don't bother with dessert. None of them excited any of us and weren't worth the space/ money

We were very happy because we had heard a lot of good things. The food was really good, but the service was really bad. Although not all seats were occupied, very inattentive, no explanations, not cleared, etc. Hopefully it was just a bad evening.

Lovely food and impeccable service at the Old Inn. The team tickled our tastebuds with lots of interesting flavours, especially liked the seafood dishes - scallop, squid all executed perfectly. Ambience was great as well, love that the restaurant is housed in a building with so much history. Definitely visit if you are in town, you won’t regret it!

The ambience felt like a modern English pub the moment we walked in. We were greeted immediately and were seated at a table of our liking. Our server was very attentive and helpful with the menu. The food was outstanding! The KFA (Kentucky Fried Artichoke) was a great way to start are meal. Then on to the Luma - dry aged pork chop. It was so tender and delicious that my husband had to clean the bone. We ended with Death By Chocolate - it did not disappoint!! Service was fantastic and the food outstanding! We will definitely be back!

As fans of Gaijin Izakaya, when we heard about Old Inn, we knew we had to try it. We weren't sure what to expect, but whatever my husband and I had in our heads, Old Inn far exceeded expectations. From the vibe of the space to the wonderful staff to the most important - fantastic food - it is one of the best meals I've had in Zurich for a long while. Definitely enjoy a cocktail ore two, the bartender (more appropriate - mixologist) was extremely professional, knowledgeable and the concoctions were clever and delicious with fun twists here and there such as an old fashioned with fried onion bits for garnish. So yum. We had the tasting menu, because what better way to understand a restaurant? The dishes were outstanding, fun and creative. I won't spoil it, definitely try it. And go soon...before everyone finds out about it and reservations are impossible to get.

Nothing short of amazing - go now before you need to book weeks ahead to get a table! We recently went for dinner and ordered our way across the delightful menu. Both the short rib and pork cheeks ended up as our favourites, with the sea bass (the corn mash!) and the fried artichokes as close seconds. Oh and did we mention the brussel sprouts, already a known highlight from sister-restaurant Gaijin, and the adventurously spiced popcorn chicken, or the refreshing burrata? Each one of the dishes brought an explosion of flavours and managed to be both innovative but also honour the taste and quality of individual ingredients. Service was incredibly friendly and speedy, and the atmosphere was stylish but also cozy. Loved the Paddington's negroni and beer selection, and even ended up opting for a dessert which I usually skip. All in all - a perfect night, we will be back.

Upon our arrival, the temperature was 31°C. Despite requesting water, regrettably, our request was denied by wait staff. Subsequently, we opted for carbonated beverages. However, it took a considerable twenty minutes to receive the bill at the end of the evening. CHF140 for two people without alcoholic beverages. On a positive note, I found my main course, comprising beef short ribs and potato salad, to be particularly enjoyable. The Mango tiramisu was lovely. However, I must express my disappointment with the delivery of service. One of my companions received a dish of pork face, and the roast potatoes were served twenty minutes after. The kitchen's timing appeared to be lacking, especially in regards to the tapas selection. Regrettably, my dining experience was further marred by subsequent digestive discomfort, both that evening and the following day.

With a bit more attention to service, this place could easily earn a higher rating.

De-li-curious! After a long meeting, we were longing for new energy 🔋. Team reserved tables in advance, so there was no time-consuming discussion about whether we go for a burger or Pizza. However, 4Min later, we were in Old Inn near Bahnhof Enge. Some have chosen vegan and veg alternatives; others used their knife and different meals. I had the Steak Frites. It comes with 200g of meat, almost 2-3 handfuls of fries, and a sneak peek of a salad on the same plate. Very convenient, and using the meatjuice/-sauce for fries was an excellent idea. The meat came on point, as ordered. I wouldn’t hesitate when I would be in the perimeter right now. Service staff? Forget everything you know so far; these people are just amazing.

We had a delicious dinner at Old Inn. Our waiter recommended the pork terrine, a recent addition to the menu, and it ended up being my favorite. We also tried the short rib special which was amazing and well balanced. The popcorn chicken was crispy and tender. The potato rosti was crunchy and topped with a perfectly seasoned beef tartare. Overall great meal and great service! Can't wait to try Gaijin (their sister restaurant) during our next visit. Chef Dan and team are sure to impress!

My European vacation stretched across 4 countries and the short rib special at Old Inn may just have been my favorite meal of the entire trip. Every single dish we tried was delicious! From their regular menu, the popcorn chicken and the pork terrine deserve a special shout-out. We also had a langostine which was paired with a crispy kale - so good! Highly recommend!! Will definitely be back!
