Decent Italian food. My pasta was good. We were sat next two a group of a dozen American Boomers who were so ridiculously loud. The room has a low ceiling so sounds circle and reverberate. I blame the Boomers for their intoxicated blathering at a level that would make our current POTUS candidates blush before their quickly approaching expiration dates. If you’re American and a Boomer, use your inside voice. Even without the boomers, the acoustics are a bit dramatic.

Typical Italian , great carpaccio, shrimps with risotto and hot stone meats are remarkable. Cosy loud setup

Hidden up a small alley. Secret gem of Italy, right in the heart of Zermatt. If you don’t eat here, you have made a mistake on you’re stay. We don’t usually do the same restaurant twice on a trip. Excellent food with great portions.

Dropped by Osteria Bella Italia in Zermatt after spotting it through a sea of positive reviews, craving some Italian in the Swiss Alps. Even without a reservation, the staff were champs, seating us promptly as doors opened at 6pm. Dad and I went straight for the pasta—mine was the chicken piccata. It was decent, though I was on the hunt for that classic white wine and capers combo I've loved elsewhere. Maybe true Italian dishes vary more than I realized? Either way, the experience didn't falter. The wine was a hit, and the service couldn't have been friendlier. It's a solid 4/5 for me. Next visit, I'm eyeing the pizza, rumored to be their standout. Osteria Bella Italia, you've got more to show me, I'm sure!

Although it was packed we were served quickly and food was good. Better than expected. You can go without hesitation. Loved the parmigiana.

Food is very good but beware the busy season. 2 hours to wait for pizza and pasta is too long.

Osteria Bella Italia is the best Italian restaurant in Zermatt! The host and all the staff were very friendly and the service was impeccable. The pizzas as well as pasta and meat dishes all looked beautiful and tasted just as good. We will always return there when we are in Zermatt. Be sure to try the Meloncino (melon liqueur)!

This Italian restaurant is a haven for lovers of Italian cuisine. The saffron shrimp spaghetti and steak on a hot stone are really delicious. The tiramisu dessert is also truly exceptional. 10/10 💕

They allow us to seat but forgot the order then offer only excuses but not dish were ready to avoid if you want to eat before closure

The entrance of the restaurant is hidden in a small alley, and it is neat and warm inside. I had venison here for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised.

My favourite restaurant during my entire trip thus far! Google said they are closed on Monday, but they weren’t! Pity I only walked past after my meal, would have loved to return to dine again. Went on a Sunday evening. They were full house. Luckily we were able to walk in with bar seats. Hosts were ALL so friendly. Despite being very busy, they make sure that you feel welcome and at ease. While they rush behind the scene, they try not to show it to the customers. Enjoyed our pasta really really well. Would recommend the pasta and risotto, however not at the same serving as it can be quite filling. Perhaps something creamy and with a pizza. But it’s really good so we just had to order them both. Will miss this restaurant greatly :’)

Fantastic set lunch at $22 and very tasty. Very good deal in Switzerland.

If you have a long time and don't mind waiting 45 minutes before you can order water, then I can recommend it. Otherwise no, because there is just total chaos here and the boss would rather talk to other guests than support his overwhelmed staff. The pizza was otherwise very good and tasty.

The best spaghetti aglio e olio we have ever eaten. The boss and his team are super friendly and live the Italian atmosphere. It was a visit that will be remembered, so warm and perfect. We will be back!

Nice atmosphere, tasty food, the pizza is big and can be shared, some pasta too. The glass of dry pro is ridiculous, it's not worth it and the soda is from a machine and still. Price above average.

At Google it was opened, but it wasn’t. When we attempted to get in the restaurant the person there was rude. So the bad reviews was for the lack of management of open times in Google and the rudeness of who talked to us.

Four of us ate here and we were all thrilled. The service was very quick, friendly and attentive. The food was super tasty, the meat in the osso bucco was very tender, the fusili had the perfect hardness and the piccata was also excellent. The ambience is really homely and classy at the same time. The restaurant is only recommended.

From California for taste context. Ordered salmon risotto and the spicy salami diablo pizza. Salmon was not good, I don’t know why I ordered it in a mountain town in Switzerland. Pizza was good. Bottom was a little burnt for my tastes, but that could be up to style because ik some people like that. Everything else about it I enjoyed. They saw that we didn’t like the salmon without us saying anything and gave us free tiramisu at the end. That tasted good. Also they gave us free water when we asked.

Nothing short of perfect in every respect. Michelin, where u at, bro? From the authentic Italian hellos, perfectly balanced pastas, to a much needed wine from a day on the mountain, this place is a stop you won't regret. And don't get me started on the pizza... What's that.. The pizza you ask? Well let's just say this pizza blew me away so much that I quit my job in the states to work here and learn their unimaginable recipe.

Came here after a long day of travel. Anna was our server and she was lovely and fun. We must’ve been the only people in the restaurant because it was an off hour - the food was incredible. The service was outstanding. I’d recommend this place to anyone coming to the area!

You get the feeling of walking into an authentic Italian restaurant, and the loudspeaker system played Italian music. The furnishings may have looked a little dated, but it was actually charming. The waiters were polite and attentive, and accompanied us throughout the visit. I found this to be the case throughout most of the restaurants we visited in Zermatt. The pizzas we ordered had an extremely good base, and are at the very top of what you get in Zermatt. My pizza had tasty and good filling, but could have benefited from a slightly richer sauce. The sauce on the second pizza was unfortunately a bit boring. Still good pizzas, and we were very satisfied. The level of pizza in Switzerland (and Zermatt) was surprisingly high and this means that you naturally become demanding. The desserts we ordered were nothing out of the ordinary, neither more nor less. The dessert "Tartufo" should not be ordered if you are not very fond of liqueur. All in all, a nice restaurant experience that lacked the finishing touch to get a top score. Here you can safely order pizza and be satisfied.

Unfortunately our choice fell too late on the Osteria Bella Italia. We only took the dessert and coffee and mineral here. To round things off there was an excellent grappa. The staff was very friendly and nice.

A nice welcome from the boss. Unfortunately cream of zucca is more of a simple soup. The tartare lacks authenticity, more like mince mixed with lots of onions and mini vegetable sauce, which takes away all the pleasure of the meat. We had more of an experience of a tourist restaurant instead of a traditional Osteria.

The Italian place was very comfortable. We were not too hungry so we are a pizza together. It was very delicious.

Friendly service. Despite the high prices on the menu (normal for Zermatt), we were charged very fair prices for small portions and children's portions. Everyone enjoyed the simple lunch for the family. I would go there again and would like to consume more with a fine dinner. Personally, I think it's great if I can do both! Thank you

The combination of bellow average dishes (freshness, quality, quantity) with a very outdated ambient and prices that do not match what being offered, make this restaurant not recommendable. I am a Pizza Lover! In the past few years I tried all Pizzerias here in Zermatt and I have to admit: this is the best one! Pizza: Thin, handmade with plenty topics - all delicious! Had a Carpaccio di Manzo in advance which was very good either Service: Extremely friendly - Italien style - looks like a family … at the Bar a few local Italiens showed up! Without reservations might be difficult to find a place ….. come early line me 😉😆 The only minus: the owner is not a good photographer 😆😂🤣

Well located place! However, our reservation was not taken into account (which was nevertheless confirmed), when we arrived we were told that it was 1 hour earlier! Fast seating for an early dinner. Food was excellent with good portions. Peace’s were responsible for Zermatt, and especially Christmas week. I had the Pork Knuckle, delicious! The first time was two days ago and the meal was amazing and very, very affordable for anywhere let alone a resort town. The first time my brother and sister-in-law did not come. They did tonight and agreed with the rest of the family that the food was amazing. I went again, last minute and was able to get a table. Nino, the owner truly made us feel like family. Nino took care of us all, especially my mom. You can tell from the moment you arrive, that this restaurant was his heart and soul. He checked in several times and I could tell, he was so proud of every dish and was truly concerned that everything was done just the way you want it. He suggested all three courses of my meal, it was out of this world. My boys, ages 17, 21 and 27 are all foodies, they love to eat and can be critical. Chicken was savory and the best he ever had, according to my one son, the other loved the pizza and said it was amazing. My third son had the Pork Knuckle, that I had two days prior and said he loved it. My mom had the tomato soup and took her time to enjoy every spoonful. My wife had the garlic prowlers with Shafron risotto, and described it as an amazing delight. I had the beef ravioli and the rack of lamb. Oh, my gosh, it was and explosion of flavor and cooked to perfection. The staff was amazing and handled our party of eight like we were at home for Christmas dinner. Caring and thoughtful. We will return for a third or more meals each meal is special, spectacular, savory. Do not miss this amazing restaurant, it made our Christmas merry, unique and unforgettable.
