The food was below average for the price. The lady who served us was also very unfriendly to us and also to the staff (I think it was the boss with short black hair). I'll never go back.

Great spot. Bright, quirky, café, serving lighter fare. I had a torta del fuego that was excellent. The best part is that service was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful staff. My server spoke flawless English. Thank you for a lovely experience!

Nice café decorated in Italian style. Offers various local products, but also classic Italian specialties. The service here is on point and I've never had to wait long. The prices are a little high but the quality of the products justifies it.

Had lunch here on my way from France to Italy. Perfect stopover. The sandwiches were great. Lot of vegetarian variety. The staff was really lovely. Great stop over for lunch or breakfast. Expect it to be a bit $$$, it is Switzerland after all.

A delightful little Italian restaurent, in the heart of Basel, serving different specialities from Italy. Has all the flavours and smells of Italy. I had a cup of coffee and a panino for a late breakfast. Was quite tasty. The waitress are very friendly but they miss the charm and wit of a typical Italian restaurent. Sadly they do not speak Italian. Overall would give it a try once again, to test my tastebuds with a real meal.

The arancini was very delicate. Priced very fairly at CHF 8.90. So I was pretty horrified by the bill of over CHF 21 for the arancini, some side salad without sauce and a glass of tap water. The salad was accidentally brought in by the restaurant and I said I'd rather eat it before they throw it away. If I had known that the small salötli cost CHF 11.-, I would have gladly given up. Waiting time for a quick lunch break with pre-prepared food is long. For me there is no relationship between price and performance. No accommodation regarding the price because I didn't actually order the salad and no communication (no price was written either) for the simple salad without sauce. Unfortunately it was the first and last time there. Two stars because the arancini was really good.

Review only refers to the coffee ToGo, I didn't eat there: I ordered a double espresso, prices are not visible on the coffee menu (or screen). When I asked how much it cost, I was told in annoyance that it was overpriced (I mean 6.20 (sic!)). Just write the prices on the screen, then you don't have to ask. The espresso was then subpar, even though a portafilter machine was used. Apparently no one can operate it. The espresso was too watery, smelled burnt and was way too bitter and unbalanced. For significantly less money you can get, for example: Get a real Doppio in the Vicafe right at the train station, with friendly staff who are happy to explain the details about the coffee. Conclusion/TL/DR: Coffee ToGo is better not here.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Basel. After paying 8.80 for a coffee and a sweet sticky pretzel and politely asking why there was no napkin, I was reminded of how unpleasant Swiss service can be and was accused of not asking for one. .. it was my fault of course. She finally smiled when I said that would be my last time there! 5 Stars for recommending that I should never come back!!

The food is ok, but be aware of their pricing. There's a rough 8% difference if you eat and get served at a table compared to when you order to go. Also side salads are just about as expensive as a sandwich. Especially if your sandwich is already about €10 euros, the same amount for a simple salad is way overpriced. This led our table order of 2 sandwiches and side salads to be a 38 Swiss Franc lunch, so roughly €40 with out any drinks.
