Ascona. Beautiful location. Be careful when ordering the Tom+Jerry ice creams. Look nice in the picture. However, you only get a small frozen tub for 6.50 Fr. Please change the photos on the brochure and adjust the price downwards.

Food was okay. The wings weren't spicy, the burger meat was some kind of convenience frozen meat. The price was definitely too high for that.

Didn't respond to various emails. We called and were told to come by, but a reservation wasn't possible. When we were there they said they had no space, but they had several free spaces and everything inside was empty. But they don't offer any service inside🫠

Nice place facing Lake Maggiore. Mostly basic food, burgers, nachos, chips (fries), cheesy bread, cocktails, lager. Food was good but as expected, expensive (compared to U.K.) but still the cheapest on the promenade.

Good view of the lake and people walking past, fast and very friendly service. Considering that it is a dining restaurant, they prepare very tasty cocktails! And the drinks menu is very extensive, lots of delicious, fruity cocktails. The food afterwards was also great! We had chicken wings, nachos and Carolina honey ribs. Immediately again at any time!

Papa Joe's in Ascona is a Tex-Mex restaurant that differs from the other restaurants in this town because of the food it offers. The specialties ordered could definitely be more strongly seasoned. Overall the taste experience was good, but could be better. The furnishings appear very colorful, cheerful and exciting. The waitress had forgotten to serve a Caipirinha that we had ordered, but this did not have a negative impact on the positive overall experience.

Splendid location (Ascona lakeside promenade), excellent food, clean and imaginatively furnished place, excellent service, average prices.

The staff is nice and very friendly. The food at Papa Joe's needs to be fresher, more imaginative and more decorative, as other restaurants are more competitive when it comes to burgers. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet our expectations. Otherwise, the interior was top-notch and cool.

The restaurant is really nice. They could have a better service but the waiter who finally attended us, was great. By the way, the cocktails are exquisite and delicious.

If you are not demanding and are hungry and all the restaurants on the promenade are fully booked, then ok. Service is not very attentive, some people look very uninterested. The Ascano promenade is simply amazing, hence 4 stars for the ambience. I know, Ascona and especially on the promenade everything is a bit expensive, but your prices don't justify the quality of the food at all, I don't understand why Papa Joe's chooses a location like that, it doesn't fit into the picture at all.

Were here with our children. It doesn't bother anyone here if it gets a little louder. Unfortunately I didn't write down our waiter's name, the service was great. The food was ok. The chili ribs were at most a little spicy and came off the bone quite well. The SweetPotatoeFries were delicious. Unfortunately the standard fries were not crispy. There was a fire show to go with the fajitas. Would come again as a change.

Before you continue reading: A tip for everyone! Always read the Google reviews first! We wouldn't even have sat down. *lol* September 27, 2020: 1 star Grabbed the lounge at the front. Service came. We asked for a map. We received these promptly. We thanked him for the card. Everything's good up to this point. Then he served behind us, next to us, collecting money left and right. In between he kept running in. We waited 15 minutes and left again. Anyone who ignores us can't really be good. Service zero. Can't staff be better selected during Corona times? .... Bad reviews for the Papa Joe chain, known from Geneva and Zurich, for two years. Why doesn't the managing director do anything...? Is the cash register still OK despite everything??? *shakes head* .... The response to the review is an oath of disclosure. As I said: average rating on Google 3.9 and numerous almost identical bad reviews over the past 2 to 3 years. What is management waiting for? Why is she “thanking” Google here? For what? For the bad reviews?! And where are the consequences? So many bad reviews don't lie! And Papa Joe's in Ascona isn't the only restaurant in town... The previous restaurant with its outstanding pizzas was far better for years, just like the Nostrana next door on the piazza today. And you can take the drinks at the several "7" bars...... Papa Joe's in its current state of quality doesn't need a visitor on the piazza... unless he falls for it the first time.......

Few businesses now have these qualities, education, courtesy of the staff and a hint of friendliness. Good food, quick service, and honest prices. Let's also add a cheerful and slightly kitsch environment which doesn't hurt. First time I give 5*, and you all deserve it!!!!!!

It's already been 10 months since I wrote a negative review. With just cause, now after a long time I have decided to return to see if something has changed or not. And I was pleasantly surprised by the attentive and friendly service, they explained to us that the sauce we really like, unfortunately they no longer buy it, without having to ask anything they brought us another sauce. I asked to speak to the person in charge so I could tell them verbally about the positive change I had experienced. As right as it is because for every negative or positive situation I find it correct to communicate it. Congratulations and thanks now I will return again with a smile. Continue on this path that can only lead to the best. Greetings 😀

Staff unfriendly. Wirth ran away before the order was finished. We ordered mojito. The drinks looked very "cheap". Over half was ice cream. Limes were already partly rotten and simply thrown in. Garlic bread wasn't really warm. The 2 stars are for the good weather and the view of the lake

The fact that no reservations are accepted during the holiday season is nonsense. When we tried to make a reservation on the phone, they said we should just arrive early and it would work out. But it didn't and we had to leave without having achieved anything. They just don't need it!

Great coffee and friendly staff for breakfast. Dinner a different story. Waiter surely, arrogant and put off. Unfreundlicher arroganter typ. Took forever to acknowledge us. We then moved one of their umbrellas ourselves for better shade from the sun. Instead of happily coming over to help he rushed over with a scowl on his face then moved the umbrella in the wrong direction insisting the sun was moving to the East...🌞🤣
