PAPA ORO's Filipino Ricebowls & more in Baden

The bowls are very tasty and balanced, my favorite is the Pork Tocino but they are all excellent. The staff is always very kind!

First time I tried and I loved it

We love the food here and everytime we come to Baden, we make a point of swinging by. The chicken adobo bowl is probably our fave--hearty, homey, and delicious. Unfortunately, on our last visit the person at the register was extremely rude when we were asking a question about the menu (and to be clear, this was not due to language barriers). It's a shame because we love this place, hopefully it's a one off.

Nice snack bar in the old town with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. The food is of good quality, tasty and there are typical Filipino “signature” dishes. What is very pleasant is that you can put the bowls together yourself; helpful on your first visit to get an overview of the taste, or even if you can't decide on a delicacy. Why do I still only give the food 3 stars... the huge weakness is that the actual "dish" is draped in a very thin layer over a bowl full of rice. This means that you actually have 90% rice in the bowl and the few pieces of meat, or 2 tomato slices - whatever - in a thin layer give the impression at first glance that you have a bowl full of deliciousness in front of you. That's why we unfortunately don't go there anymore. If this concept is adapted in the future and made a little more fair, we would be happy to come back.

Best Filipino food, it's not spicy and very digestible. I really enjoy eating here, even though it's a bit too much rice compared to the other ingredients.

I basically go there everytime I am in town and need to get something to eat. Always great, super quality and good portion, nice personell. I especially love the planted sweet chilli chicken- even as an omnivore. Eating in is not always an option.

The food tastes really great, the problem is that the prices used to be at the upper limit at 16.50. At the beginning of the new year, however, they increased again. As a student you can no longer afford this. I would like there to be an offer with student prices.

I really enjoy coming here to eat, the food is really top notch, super tasty, very fresh and good portions. I'm a huge fan of lechon manok and also palitaw. Today I tried Lumpia for the first time and I'm really impressed. Happy to remain a regular customer. Also super friendly staff.

The ube cake is overpriced for the size of the piece and was partly almost frozen, otherwise it would be 5⭐️. The ambience cannot compete with that of the restaurant in Brugg. High chairs are also not for everyone🤷‍♂️.

The food and service is good. However, they should function the restaurant smarter on two aspects. First, there are 4 tables with 4 seats each. However, you find 2 people occupy each, which means 8 people in total has filled the whole restaurant. A smarter way of arranging seats can simply increase the number of people eats in. Also, the standard portion of rice is tooooo huge. Even as a good rice eater, I still have half of the rice left when I finish the meats/veges. I guess most of the customer will have to leave a certain portion of rice unfinished. I feel there can be a certain amount of waste if it keeps working like that…They should set different portion of rice and ask the customer which level they prefer.

We dined at Papa Oros with a group of 20 people and had a wonderful evening. The service is very friendly and attentive and the food is simply great! Many many thanks!

I don't usually like writing bad reviews, but unfortunately this place was a disappointment, at least for vegetarian food. We got the tofu rice bowl, tofu bao, lumpia and ume cake. The tofu was dry, hard and kinda tasteless. The lumpia was fine, and the bao mostly just tasted of mayonnaise. The cake was also dry and flavourless. The staff are friendly and kind and the location is good with nice outdoor seating.

My spoiled tongue is satisfied here. Quality protein, freshly prepared vegetables & excellent rice in various constellations. Love it!!

Delicious food, especially the chicken marinated in ginger, tender and tasty. Always a very crowded place, it feels a bit like Asia, but it's worth a try.

I really like the food and the quantity of the servings but the halo-halo needs improvement here. The ice was not well shaved and difficult to eat from this kind of glass. The one in Brugg is much better at least from the pictures I saw.

The 2 for 1 promotion is a complete disaster. You get two portions of fried noodles, without any side dishes or vegetables. Absolutely loveless and inedible.

Great spot to get a quick bite in Baden. My recommendation would be the pork belly buns. They never disappoint. If you're hungrier they have rice bowls as well. Staff are friendly and helpful as well

Pleasantly surprised by this Filipino pokebowl styled food joint. The meats were well seasoned alongside the fresh vegetables, which made for a tasty meal. No frills ordering at the counter, with helpful descriptions of each dish to help with the selection.

I've been visiting this Filipino takeaway for several years now and I'm still impressed. The quality of the food is consistently high and always a pleasure. The staff is incredibly personable and the service is always first class. A thoroughly positive experience that I can only recommend to everyone!

Fried rice bowl with sweet and sour chicken and noodle bowl with adobe meat. Nice food, good price, and portions.

The food was actually good. Well except for the halo-halo it was not good, they only put jelly on different colors and a little piece of leche flan and small barquillos on top. The ice where not crushed properly. you cannot really find a good ingredients for your halo-halo in a country like Switzerland, personal opinion I'm not really recommending it, it's not worth the price, but you can always try. Everything else is good. This is the 2nd time me and my husband visit the place.

Laid back place in the center of Baden with reasonable prices. Varied clientele.

We were there for lunch today and ordered 2 bowls. When ordering, we ordered Fried Rice with an additional charge. However, when the bowls were filled, there was white rice in them and we brought this to the team's attention. The cashier then asked again if we wanted fried rice. We had just ordered it and paid an extra 1.50CHF each - so yes, we want it. She then asked her team to fill in the fried rice and we waited at the table. When we received the finished bowls, a few things weren't right: - it was just white, normal sticky rice. Nothing about it was “fried” and there were no other ingredients like garlic, spring onions or other vegetables in it. Just white rice. When we asked, we were told that it was fried rice and that they simply no longer had the yellow color... (?). Clearly not worth the 1.50CHF extra charge. - Furthermore, the sticky rice was too sticky and overcooked. Partly clumped. - a bowl was filled with the wrong meat. When we asked, we were told that they had accidentally swapped the signs. There was no offer to refill the bowls or fill them with the correct desired content. - No apology from the team. No effort to please the customer. After our visit we were very disappointed with the service and had to leave the restaurant dissatisfied. This experience cost us 43CHF.

The dishes are generally very fine, but the quality of the service and food is inconsistent. Some employees are very friendly, others can't even look into the customers' eyes and serve half-heartedly - a shame. Part of the appeal is served in chunks and the amount of food varies depending on who is serving.

The food is excellent. Freshly prepared. There is something for every taste. Jay gave us very good advice, was very friendly and took the trouble to answer our questions. We ate there and once we used the take away. We'd love to come back.

It was my first time trying vietnamese food. Very filling and delicious and definitely worth a visit in Baden AG. Prices are fair for quality of food. I recommend the ticino pork, very flavorful. Recommending for everyone.

I eat at Papa Oro's at least twice a week. Unfortunately, the quality has declined significantly in the last few months. The food is often not really edible (planted chicken). It is often very dried out or fried for far too long, so that it breaks in your mouth!!! The rice is sometimes burnt. The food is great when it's done just right. Please work on your quality... Everything used to be prepared fresh in the pan, now the planted is fried and a little sauce poured over it... It's a shame, I'll be changing my local restaurant soon if things don't get better... The staff is super nice. I know it can be very hectic at times, but quality over quantity!

Food was ok, nothing special, unfortunately there are no children's menus, had to pay full price for my child of 6. You can take the rest with you as takeaway. Very narrow and the tables in front of the restaurant are on a slope, the food slides away or to you. Unsuitable for eating comfortably.

The catering for 30 people as part of a big birthday party from Papa Oro's was very successful. From delivery to pickup and packing up leftovers for guests, everything went smoothly. We would like to thank Papa Oros & the team for the delicious food and successful catering. Our guests loved the food as well as the ube cake. We can only recommend it, bravo!!! 😍

The food is extremely delicious, very special tasting meat and lots of veggies. The portions are big enough! The staff at the counter is always friendly. Opening hours in the evening could be a bit longer in my opinion. If you arrive at around 20:15 the available meals are sometimes limited.

I have done take away from Papa Oros as a local for several years , I think at least 2 times per month. Sometimes several times per week. The food and the service is great (=efficient, friendly and focused) and it doesn’t take long to get your meal. I bring containers from home which they fill up to the brim. The portions are large and I can often have two meals from them. Great place, but don’t tell everyone :-)

2 for 1 is used as bait There are glass noodles with very little cabbage and carrots. See photo. Absolutely inedible. Something like that doesn't belong in the otherwise very good book with great offers. We will certainly never eat there. Have gotten to know many other great restaurants this way. Which we will visit again without a voucher. This restaurant should be removed from the Büchli 2 for 1 in Baden.

The food at Papa Oro's is always great. It's very authentic, the staff is very friendly. You will be served extremely quickly and if you don't know what you want or don't know something yet, you can try it. Extremely customer friendly! The price-performance ratio is top! For 20.- you get a large combo bowl with either rice or rice noodles + 3 different side dishes of your choice. Vegetarian or meat. There are also toppings in the form of vegetables (carrots, cucumbers, etc.) and sauce + if desired, fried onion pieces. In addition to its location on Weite Gasse, Papa Oro's also has a small shop at Baden train station. It's a shame that they don't offer delivery service for the surrounding areas. Only in Baden itself via UberEats.

Papa Oro's Restaurant in the middle lane in Baden, Switzerland is a small Filipino restaurant in the middle of the old town. It's somewhat inconspicuous in a side street. There is a wide range of different dishes with different rice. The various dishes are available both with meat and without. There are several choices for each. I had BBQ chicken with fried rice. It was very tasty and a good portion. The scissor dishes were also very fine and rich. It is a small but fine restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, the waiters were extremely attentive and asked us what we would like as a topping. Conclusion: A nice little Filipino restaurant with a nice atmosphere and dedicated staff and fine food. The price-performance ratio is reasonable for Switzerland and always worth a visit.

Great Filipino restaurant with a cozy atmosphere in the old town of Brugg AG. The selection of traditional dishes is very good. The taste, portion size and price are great. The service is very nice and you immediately feel welcome! I can only recommend this restaurant.

ordered via Uber eats an on the bau ban was a long hair inside the dough (Pic to proof) not really nice to find it.. dissapointed as wanted really to try the bau ban!

We pre-ordered and paid online on the PapaOro homepage at 10 a.m. today. Collection was only possible at the Metro Shop. When we wanted to pick up the order promptly at 6 p.m., we were told in the Metro Shop that no order could be found, we should go to the other shop, the lady wanted to call and have everything prepared. When we arrived at the second shop, no one knew anything about the order and no one had called either. In addition, 2/6 dishes were no longer available. When asked, they just said “it lasts as long as it lasts”. Yes then I wonder what we pre-order for? No sorry, no compensation, nothing... Food was good but service 0/10.

Right as you enter the shop you are welcomed warmly and lovely. The service staff is kind and respectful. The food is beyond delicious, there is a wide variety of drinks and bowls/ sides to pick from. You get big portion that are also reasonably priced. I highly recommend the fried rice as a base and the ube cake for dessert, both are scrumptious. This restaurant will forever have a special place in my heart, can't wait for my next visit. 10/10!!!

I am not a picky eater but I also haven't tried all the filipino food from the different places in the filipines so I can't say if it just didn't taste right to me or it is just different to what I am used to ("used to" as in what my family-in-law used to eat and prepare) I was super happy to find a near-by filipino place to get back transported to family and friends that I am a little sad that it didn't live up to my expectations. I will surely come back and give it another try though!

What a gem of a restaurant. Delicious comfort food at reasonable prices. Less than 18CHF for a big, hot and tasty plate. Highly recommended the garlic fried rice. Had both the lemongrass chicken and tocino pork and would order again. Filipino food is hard to come by and who know I'd find it in Baden, Switzerland of all places.
