Very quaint little bar. Pleasant and relaxing environment. Rachele and her collaborators are competent, friendly and fast. It's definitely worth spending some time relaxing there 😊!

Excellent coffee and good beers for an aperitif

We stopped here for a small breakfast. The cappuccino and the croissants were very tasty. We have nothing to complain about and recommend this cafe.

The best croque-monsieur in Locarno, choice between white bread and wholemeal bread. And it’s the only thing I’ve eaten off their menu so far. Pleasant and efficient staff.

Great coffee, great cakes, nice lunch meals, very friendly staff, wonderful, mostly sunny terrasse seats, and a wide range of different visitors (younger, older, more stylish, less stylish, locals, tourists, etc.). We enjoyed each time we went there during our 4-week stay in Locarno.

The Selz bar with its tables on Piazza Castello always has its charm. The service is friendly and fast and it is also at a good price. Drop by and you won't regret it 😉

Das „Selz“ ist meine Entdeckung in Locarno. Eine super leckere Kürbis-Karottensuppe und die extrem feinen Quiches innere Sonne am Vortag des Heiligen Abends, was will man mehr. Ach ja, auch noch wirklich gute Musik und extrem freundlicher Service. Wir sind vom verregneten Vierwaldstättersee durch den Tunnel geflüchtet und haben mit dem Selz wohl die Entdeckung des Jahres gemacht! Selten so lecker aus so kleiner Küche einer Bar gegessen... Ach ja, der Espresso ist auch allerfeinst ;-)Das solltet Ihr Euch nicht entgehen lassen!

Rachele e le sue Seltzine rendono speciale anche una pausa caffè. Il locale è amichevole, un salotto all'aperto, una terrazza che scalda il cuore. Ho scelto questo bar a caso e me ne sono innamorata. Quando ti vien voglia di tornare, io credo di aver trovato il posto giusto. Brava Rachele!

Ottima scoperta per la pausa pranzo! Ho preso la quiche con isalata. Si sente che sono prodotti freschi e tutto era equilibrato e buono. Ho preso anche una fgetta di torta, questa devo dire non mi ha fatto impazzire. In generale comunque ottimo servizio!

The place is very cozy inside and outside you can sunbathe (it's in a sunny spot). Prices are normal. The vast range of herbal teas and special teas available was much appreciated. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Inside it is not very large but there is the possibility of staying outside where there is enough space

Rachele accoglie i suoi clienti come amici a casa ma sempre con alta professionalità.L'ambiente raffinato ed arredato il stile "vintage" dà l'impressione di essere accolti nel salotto di casa e ti senti subito a tuo agio.Sulla terrazza esterna nelle giornate di sole sembra di essere in Riviera.Servizio perfetto con prodotti ottimi ed una selezione di tè e tisane veramente speciali.Tappa quasi obbligata ogni giorno per un buon momento di relax od una semplice lettura di un giornale, tra le varie testate disponibili, gustando un ottimo vino o semplicemente un buon caffè. Well...today I managed to get pampered by Rachele at the selz bar & café in Locarno😉

Sono sempre stata cliente del selz dalla sua apertura e da un mesetto faccio anche qualche ora di lavoro. Vorrei confermare la sua qualità e accoglienza vista anche dall'altra parte del banco del bar. I clienti ,molti abituali sono al centro dell'attenzione e si cerca di farli andare via sempre soddisfatti.E che dire della qualità dei prodotti utilizzati,partendo dalle squisite miscele di te, aprezzatissime da tutti, alla freschezza degli ingredienti utilizzati per gli sfizziosi pranzetti. Lo so posso sembrare di parte, e magari un po lo sono, ma io adoro questo posto e lo consiglio a tutti.

Che sia per un caffè, un'ora di studio, un aperitivo intimo o un ritrovo tra amici, il selz bar&caffè è sempre il posto ideale. Caratterizzato da un ambiente intimo e piacevole, è all'altezza di ogni situazione con la sua offerta di sciroppi di ogni genere, thè della "casa del thè", caffè, ottimi cappuccini (anche fatti con latte di soja), aperitivi e piccola cucina home made. Ciliegina sulla torta: i concerti proposti durante il festival e, di tanto in tanto, il sabato mattina fuori stagione turistica. Alla prossima, è sempre un piacere!

Con gli amici visitato questo locale durante il film festival di Locarno. Quindi nel periodo quando Locarno è pieno dei turisti da tutte le parti del mondo, si dovrebbe essere accoglienti molto di più. In tutto il mondo si cerca sempre di accontentare l'ospite, cercando di andarlo incontro e aiutarlo se ha bisogno, ma in questo locale no! Grazie a Dio, a Locarno ho trovato altri locali veramente molto più accoglienti e grazie a loro tornerò di nuovo al Film festival, ovviamente evitando questo bar.

Questo grazioso locale diretto da una giovane ticinese solare e intrapprendente è il posto adatto per fare dalla colazione all'apertivo con scelte sfiziose e richieste particolari come gli sciroppi selezionati e la limonata super buona. Rachele fa il miglior negroni di Locarno. Il servizio è gentile e informale e la terrazza situata in zona strategica all'inizio della piazza grande. Frequentato da giovani, turisti e ticinesi. Da provare!

Als "Wiederholungstäter " haben wir die Bar Selz zu unserer Lieblingsbar erklärt. Die Drinks sind sehr gut und die kleinen Leckereien, die dazu gereicht werden , sind frisch und schmackhaft.

Zu jeder Tageszeit eine Bar zum Wohlfühlen.Man fühlt sich hier sehr willkommen, wie bei Freunden... möchte bleiben...Das Lächeln der Chefin macht jeden Gast besonders.Hier trifft Herzlichkeit auf Professionalität im besten Sinn!Alles lecker - ob frische Salate, Kaffee, Tee oder Aperitivi.Unbedingt einen Besuch einplanen.

bar selz is a great place to sit outside and watch piazza goers.....its great for tea coffee or a few beers.....they offer really great simple food at lunch...sometimes they have a small music venue highly worthwhile....it is defiantly the best coffee hangout in locarno....the people at selz are great ..nice friendly people...this place offers a lot to locarno .......the 70s style living room setting in the back is beautiful and spot on.........

Dopo la scomparsa del Canetti il Selz é l'unico bar conviviale di qualità e simpatico... 3 thumbs up!!!!

A place like Selz bar and café was badly needed in Locarno. It looks very cozy and can be enjoyed both inside and on the outdoor terrace. It is located in the beautiful center of town and unlike many other places, which are boring, without personality and aimed at tourists only, Selz is very appreciated by locals. Prices are fair (in line with this part of Switzerland), staff is very friendly, wifi is provided (password = Selz phone number) and they have a large selection of "sciroppi" as well as everything else you might want to drink.

In una regione doverosamente dedita al turismo e all'accoglienza, questo locale rappresenta -nella sua semplicità ed spontaneità- l'esempio che molti dovrebbero cercare di seguire...Il sabato, matinée di musica di alta qualità.

Ich war vor einer Woche erneut da und es ist immernoch toll! Absolut empfehlenswertes Lokal. Nettes Ambiente, schöne Location, freundliche Bedienung. Ob ein Apéro an der Sonne oder einen Kaffee am Vormittag: hier gehe ich hin!

Questo locale e molto carino per il suo arredamento fuori dagli schemi. La saletta alla fine del locale riporta l ospite nei anni 60. La proprietaria è una persona gentile e appassionata del suo lavoro. Si nota la professionalità .
