The saddle of roe deer was not shown, but rather brought from the kitchen already cut and contained in a large container covered in aluminum foil, which was decidedly unappealing. The meat was good, coarsely cut, as were the very good side dishes. The beauty of the roe deer saddle is also its presentation, which you would expect to be well done (also given the high prices), but it was lacking. Carrying the cut saddle with its contours on the aluminum paper was unwatchable, I recommend avoiding it and using a classic stainless steel pan. The second portion had less meat than the first. Osteria Pedemonte is an old school restaurant close to the railway station. We did not get printed out menu but were offered various dished orally. A lady can list the dishes by heart in Italian, German and I would not be surprised if in French as well. Despite the fact that the restaurant is close to the main Bellinzona railway station, the place is quiet and romantic. We have ordered black ravioli with salmon stuffing and shrimp sauce and cacao tagliatelli with venison. Both dishes were good and big portions. Barbera wine was of a rich taste. Service is very friendly but you have to wait done time, when lady repeats the menu to another customers.
