There is not a single vegan takeaway offer here. Very unfortunate.

Nice bakery/cafe with a large selection of breads, croissants, sweet pastries etc. The coffee is too watery, there is better quality. Croissants taste good, but the lye croissants not only take some getting used to, they also taste more like butter croissants.

I recently went to Pfyl Bakery in Zurich, and it was a great experience. As soon as I walked in, the smell of freshly baked pastries got my attention. They have a good variety of pastries, and I tried a few. The pastries at Pfyl are really good. They offer croissants and danishes that are delicious, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. Their coffee pairs well with the pastries. Whether you like strong coffee or something creamier, they have options. The staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome. They seem to enjoy what they do. The bakery has a cozy atmosphere, making it a nice place to hang out with friends or relax by yourself. Overall, Pfyl Bakery in Zurich is a great spot for pastry lovers. With tasty pastries, good coffee, and friendly staff, it's worth a visit. I plan to go back for more pastries in the future.

Pfyl is my favorite café. Super tasty cocoa and cappuccino. The staff are always very friendly and warm. Almond pretzel 🥨 is very delicious. I like PowerPoint presentation best. I happily recommend Pfyl.

Huge, delicious selection of everything your heart desires.

Nice Bakery with bar where you can also have coffee and other beverages and eat on site. Kind staff, good choice of pastries. Has tables for at least 30 people if not more. Free parking in front of the entrance. Sells also themed pastries, for example for Christmas as it can be seen in one of my pictures.

My friends and I come here often and we love it very much, what a beautiful art she made for us on our cappuccino. This bakery has the best egg sandwich! She also taught us how to speak German. They all are very very friendly and kind. We recommend to come here to get your breakfast and coffee. 👍👍

Very good atmosphere, incredible customer service. The service is very friendly. Extremely friendly and committed staff. Super fine, tasty baked goods and rich sandwiches. Ordering sandwiches or something similar in advance also works very well. Very friendly, very personable, very communicative. Good vibe in general. Only recommended. It's always a pleasure to come back there. If you don't know it yet, definitely try it out.

First of all, the food was generally good (especially the Birchermüesli). Unfortunately there is a problem with the service: Sandwiches are put in a paper bag without cling film and are dry in the evening. A napkin isn't even provided or at least asked for. You can also pack the order (4 paper bags) yourself somehow without being asked whether you need a bag. Significantly greater customer benefits could be achieved with little effort.

I can't judge the offer because the two women didn't pay any attention to me. They talked to each other and didn't even look at me. When I came in I said hello, nothing, and at the counter I said hello again, nothing. A “I'll be with you in a moment” or something like that would be appropriate, for example. Then I left the store. Disrespectful!

I hadn't been there for a long time and was pleasantly surprised. They have always had the best coffee with milk and very good food, and now you are even welcomed...! The old, unfriendly, often even cheeky and unmotivated staff (mainly the branch manager!) have been replaced?! In any case, I'm coming back more often now.

I've been in the Altstetten branch almost every day for a year, Quarkzöpfli, Birchermüesli with berries are legendary, unfortunately chicken curry is no longer available, it was also divine! The girls are super friendly, except for one, but I haven't seen her in a long time. She probably doesn't work there anymore, it's better that way! Top bakery, very good quality, highly recommended!

It's a shame there has been a change in leadership position again. Since the branch manager is no longer there, it is clear that the employees are no longer managed. Sometimes there is a lot of unrest and chaos, especially with two employees it is very borderline with waiting times and pure hecticness. The only one who really always does a super professional and friendly job is Patrizia. Patrizia and Manuela were the gold pieces in this shop. A pity!!!

The location is very nicely decorated. The coffee was good to very good. Now it's happened for the second time that the baked goods (summits) are only half cooked and therefore inedible.

I would like to give ***** because the location is great, as is the terrace outside and the offer. But the service is so terribly unfriendly that unfortunately I can't give it more than **. The only shop in Zurich where I ask myself before entering: Do I really want to do this to myself? Why am I being yelled at this time?

Good products that stimulate the desire

For me, Kaffee Pfyl is ideally located. Thanks to the many parking spaces right in front of the coffee shop, I usually don't have to look long for a PP. Since I have been visiting the coffee shop for a long time, my order is often already ready when I enter the coffee shop.

Incredible and unfortunately not better on the third visit. Snippy service. Despite Covid measures, you can expect that if you ask what's in the sandwiches, you'll get an answer. Plus, there were no other customers here, so there was no time pressure. “What is there and everything that is here is still there” is the wrong answer if I am one meter away from the display case. When asked by the next customer whether he still has sweets, telling the next customer: “Yes, I have them hidden in my pocket” is an absolute no-go. Sorry - but customer service like this is NOT customer service! Absolutely incomprehensible.

Great offer and lots of goodies at absolutely fair prices. The only point of criticism: the friendliness of the site manager in Altstetten leaves a lot to be desired. Towards the customers as well as the employees and learners - this way doesn't work at all. I think it's absolutely terrible when one of the employees is loudly embarrassed or "shat on" by the boss. That doesn't exactly show professionalism...

I used to love coming here often and I also bought a lot of things because it was really good and fresh. Unfortunately, it has a very unfriendly and impossible service that always seems to be there. So this bakery will never see me again.

My "Cappuccino Doppio" is sometimes already on the counter when I walk in the door, even though I haven't even gotten around to ordering yet. Had a very bad experience on June 10, 2020. At first I was rudely told that I should use a different entrance door, even though this one says entrance. Then I stood on the yellow safety line and I was reprimanded again and told to stand clearly behind the line. When I wanted to order anyway, it didn't have any croissants, chocolate croissants, etc. and the lady at the checkout said I should kindly choose something that they had.

As soon as I enter the Pfyl bakery, I am always greeted warmly and with a smile by Manuela and her team. My "Espresso Doppio" is sometimes already steaming on the counter when I get to the checkout, even though I haven't even gotten around to ordering yet. But since I always use the same thing anyway, over time I noticed it... and it's exactly this personal touch that I really appreciate. I was there today morning to have breakfast with my girlfriend and my brother and the cashier was really really rude in taking my order, which were 3 “Macchiatos”. When i realized that they made a Latte and not an Espresso, i simply said: “oh i thought you will make an Espresso”. She said in a really rude and disrespectful way: “Oh we are in Switzerland here, Macchiato is Latte!!!”. What the hell is that supposed to mean???? She kept looking bad to us the whole time... I am really disappointed about the experience i had, and no one came to apologize, and by the way also the lady who was behind me she was so shocked to realize what just happened..

Simply great, I always enjoy coming to this branch, friendly employees, the way they respond to customers is nice. Of course, every now and then you have to wait a moment for your turn, but I like to wait for a nice fresh coffee and a piece of applesauce, or whatever your heart desires.

Sometimes you should choose unknown paths and be happy about the surprises you come across. That's what happened last Saturday when I strolled through the recently built Labitzke area and came across an inspiring sculpture between the houses that showed me the way to Café Pfyl, which is also a bakery - a gap in this part of Altstetten since the Beck Keller went down the drain. When I arrived around midday, the café was practically empty, both the guest area and the displays. But it's also big, really big. At the same time it is also spacious because the many seats are spread over various, differently designed areas, which makes it very pleasant. The coffee was good, the only real flaw is the cream in the 'Kafirahmdösli', so from an environmental point of view I wish I had a jug or a tetra for lactose intolerant people? The lye butter pretzel fit perfectly, the plait that I bought for Sunday was still fresh on Monday and so all in all very good, solid craftsmanship. Now I'll take a look at the place at lunchtime during the week, because that's what it seems to be designed for. I'm curious!

Really difficult to rate! I find the location good and comfortable. The selection and quality of the baked goods and salads is really great. Not cheap, but OK. The lunch specials and pizzas are rather below average. There are better things nearby. And the operation is simply a matter of luck. The more trainees the better...

Very unfriendly branch manager. However, the young employees are very friendly. Prices much more expensive than other Pfyl bakeries but understandable because of the location. But the branch manager was often in a bad mood and had a bitchy tone. It's a real shame because the products are of very good quality.

Very expensive and the pizzas are getting smaller and smaller. A pity :-(

Pleasant place but overwhelmed staff. Unfortunately, you get the impression that the opening times are tight and it's never open when you want it to be (it stays closed on weekends and is usually closed in the evenings too). Unfortunately there isn't much competition nearby...

We come to Pfyl regularly, mainly because of the great staff and because we live right next door. The branch manager Manuela in particular does an excellent job. She knows all the regular customers by name, likes to exchange a few nice words with customers and serves them very quickly and reliably. You will also receive a very friendly welcome from your employees. In my opinion there is room for improvement in the range. Unfortunately, mainly “traditional” baked goods are still offered, which is simply no longer up to date. Unfortunately, you won't find healthy foods, low sugar, or light snacks in general.

Small egg sandwich for CHF 7.50???? If the sandwich is takeout, not even a napkin or receipt was offered. Unfriendly staff. The worker made a mistake at the register and kept me waiting without offering an apology. Good luck with that setup.

Unfriendly condition. The food is nothing special. Long waiting times and overwhelmed staff at lunchtime. The current branch manager is very unfriendly and snippy. You are simply addressed as a first name... I won't go there anymore.

The place is a bit hidden (you don't really see it from the main streets), but that might be a plus: It is not overcrowded, the music is not too loud, and they have great wifi - this is a nice place for being productive on your computer or just for chatting away with someone.

You buy a cup filled with pralines, at least you would think that. In reality, the cup is 70% filled with fill material. Really disapointing!

Very bad service. The three of us came for lunch. When two of us had finished eating, the third still did NOT get his food. When I asked, the cashier didn't feel the need to apologize. The colleague still had to get his own food. At least the branch management apologized for the incident.

Service was friendly and prompt, products were sometimes delicious, sometimes completely wrong (dried toast; large, frozen banana pieces in the muesli, etc.). However, even for Zurich, overpriced for what you get. Orders from the kitchen are prepared incorrectly every time (vegi/meat; ToGo/In House...). I have already ordered for a business event, and instead of banana muesli I simply received berry muesli without any explanation. Reason for asking: They just didn't have any left.

Bakery Conditorei Pfyl organized a wonderful funeral buffet in the Kilchberg parish hall. Thank you very much on behalf of everyone present. It was excellent, lovingly prepared, salty and sweet (but not too sweet), also with beautiful fruits, looked tasty and actually tasted wonderful.

Very friendly and attentive staff. The goods are sometimes fresher, sometimes less so. Overall it's actually pretty good. I still think the prices are borderline for Zurich Altstetten. My absolute favorite is the berry Bircher muesli! :-) The roast beef sandwiches are also delicious! Personally, I find the salty products tastier than the sweet things there.

Unfortunately, it's always a huge frustration!!!! Inattentive employees who are incompetent and arrogant. Better to chatter around and keep customers waiting! Products are sometimes ok and sometimes OLD and inedible!!!! It's a shame, give the store a chance every now and then, but it's slowly enough...

Charming staff, fresh pastries and brilliant salads. Recommend to get there by 11:48 before the lunch crowed arrives. Warm lunch menu changes daily and waiting is very convenient as you get a pager.
