Pizzeria CasaMia in Zermatt

Left hungry. Made reservation. Came all this way just to find out it was cancelled for not confirming by email. I wasn't made aware to confirm by email. Pathetic.

I called to make a reservation, all the details have been collected and the reservation confirmed. On arrival I was told that our reservation was cancelled due to an email that was not confirmed, of which there was no mention of during the call. I’m very dissatisfied with the service and the treatment of guests at this establishment.

We did reservation. I left all details. Phone number and email. Apparently is not enough… Nobody informed me that apparently you need to reply on email with credit card details ??? First time in my life reservation was canceled nobody even called … when we get to the restaurant the guy was unpleasant informing us that reservation is canceled …

it was my dad's birthday we reserved a table five days ahead and when we came to the restaurant a not pleasing servant with an attitude told us that our table was given to someone else. we didn't receive any informations we were 15 minutes before our reservation to not be late and their justification is that they sent an email and there was their site and i had to confirm it before the day of my reservation nobody informed us that we had to do that. i strongly don't recommend going to that restaurant if you don't want to come out feeling like anything.

Came here for dinner and made a reservation beforehand. I got excited as there was osso bucco with risotte milanese on the menu. But I was not so hungry, so I ordered the cesar salad and the other person ordered osso bucco. The food was mediocre, with the osso bucco still a bit chewy. The risotto was average. The cesar salad was good with a homemade dressing, but the eggs were so over boiled that the egg yolk was already grey. The other person said the salad was better than the osso bucco, in their opinion. The pizza and pasta looked good — maybe that would have been the better choice. Service is super friendly and helpful.

Nice Italian restaurant near the train station. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating and is well equipped and cozy. The service is very friendly and quick. The food is very good. The food is Italian with a Swiss/bourgeois touch. In addition to classics such as pasta and pizza, there is also fish and even vegan roast-style dishes. All dishes and also the desserts were excellent. Only the Insalata Mista with corn was a bit unusual for us. The wine selection is also very good.

Nice location. Friendly waiter, but we waited over 60 minutes for our pizza. The table next to us came 15 minutes later and had the pizzas in front of us. Carpaccio as a starter was tasty, but you can't say that about pizza. Partly burnt and too greasy. If you want to share the pizza you have to pay extra, which means you won't be able to eat the pizza alone. Overall, a nice restaurant and waiters, but definitely not recommended as a pizzera.

Nothing special - don’t waste your time. Food was below average. Salad overdressed, the quality of the lettuce meh. The pizza no flavor, so so cheese and the dough has no flavor. many good restaurants don’t waste your time.

Wonderful cozy restaurant recommended by our hotel. We visited twice during our stay in Zermatt. Both meals were excellent; highly recommend the parmesian porcini flan!

Excellent pizzas! On the other hand, we place you in front of a wine cabinet and we come 4 times during the meal to move you and when we allow ourselves a small comment we respond to you... we work!

CasaMia is a cozy restaurant where you can eat very well. The service is super friendly and accommodating. Reservation is an advantage. It definitely wasn't there for the last time.

Top Italian restaurant, we had lunch, excellent aubergine parmigiana, also the tortelloni and orecchiette Genoese were really special. Excellent service, even gave a bowl of water to our dog. Highly recommended

We had gone for lunch at the restaurant. The staff extremely rude. Theres a weird rule in swiss to order two plates for two people or you pay extra. We paid extra and called for a pizza and they would bring you water without asking you and charge a bomb for that. The ambience was good. Food was average.

Overpriced, terrible service, pizza was burnt, other food not great. Don’t waste your money. Better places.

We had lunch here and we really enjoyed it overall! The salad sizes a bit small but the deer entrecôte was amazing so definetely recommended! Also they did a mistake with one meal but they corrected it fast and they brought desert on the house so that was also good.

Visited this place on our travels to Zermatt. I would suggest all travellers to find better place rather just choosing this one as it’s closer to train station. We were lazy to find a better place so sharing our experience. The worst experience starts with the person who took the order and she was completely not interested to help. We wanted to do some changes to the toppings and she was completely not helpful. Finally we were able to place order, when the order arrived the pizza base was not normal / crispy nor it was tasty, never seen a soggy pizza like this before, it’s expensive so you expect at least good quality but unfortunately it was by far lowest quality. When asked I gave the feedback after the dinner was done, the person who asked seems to be doing a formality to ask feedback, when I gave my honest feedback he said you should have told it’s soggy when the order arrived, my only response was didn’t you check while serving as it was clear that it was not good and not presentable. Also please note they don’t care on any feedback. If you try to order a pizza and if you are 2 sharing the same pizza they will charge you sharing cost of 6 CHF and charge more on toppings even if you replace the toppings. My experience was the worst and next day I saw some great restaurants around so please walk around rather being lazy like us. Overall Zermatt has been a fantastic experience in exception to this restaurant. Sharing my honest feedback as food can be expensive here so better to read reviews and spend money wisely. I ordered a vegan burger (main content tofu). It started when we ordered and the waiter rolled his eyes. When the burger came, I happily tried it, but I quickly noticed that there was no sauce in the burger and the tofu smelled very bad. When I asked the waiter about it, he joked about ordering vegan food... the fries that came with it were ok. All in all, a huge failure!

Wonderful restaurant. Intimate and reserved environment with a mountain flavor but elegant as is Zermatt. Excellent quality and extremely fresh products, courteous and trained staff. Really great pizza. Italian restaurant recommended by an Italian. Prices in line with Swiss ones.

There is an outdoor terrace in front of the station where you can have a relaxing meal.

We reserved in advance (strongly recommended) and it worked out great. The ambience is rustic with great eye-catchers and cozy. The map is diverse. What was a bit confusing was that there was a hint of cereal containing gluten everywhere, even in the risotto. The waitress couldn't explain it and didn't ask. It would be easier if it was clearly marked what is possible with GF. This is also the case with vegetarians. The gluten-free pizza was very, very tasty. Beautifully topped and deliciously crispy baked in the wood oven. The gluten-containing pizza was also very tasty, nice and crispy and had great toppings. We can highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you for the pleasant evening.

The place is okay but overprice. the salad buffala is very small for the price. The pizza was good but the crust was very burnt. The service was average not very attentive and you could feel the waiter’s frustration. The Hugo was good.

Really good food. Great service. Special shout out to Barbara to strongly advise me to get a jacket if I am going up the mountain to see the Matterhorn. And not go up in just a t-shirt. Lol. ☺️

Recommended by our hotel Beausite ZERMATT, we would have wished we discovered this Restaurant earlier during our 5 days stay in Zermatt. We order 6 dishes. The white wine creme soup is superb, best I have ever tried. I ordered the Veal Ragout with Basil Mashed Potato, finely cooked and delicious. Just an amazing meal, highly recommended Lovely environment by the train station and warm services. I would come back next time.

Just had lunch here with my husband. Too bad we read the poor service reviews after we experienced it ourselves… We sat next to three German speaking tables who received wonderful service and we were never checked on nor had our dishes bussed. We even had to go up to a random staff member to ask for the check after waiting to see if our server or the manager would notice us just sitting there for a while after we finished our meal. Maybe it was because we only speak English? Or that we were in our trail clothes? Either way, all customers should be treated the same. Very noticeable the difference in treatment here which has been the only time we’ve experienced it in our 3 weeks in Switzerland. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for tourists. Food is just ok too. Disappointing experience for our first meal in Zermatt. I’m sure there are better dining spots in Zermatt.

Rustic atmosphere, friendly employees, discreet boss, prices ⬆️, for a mini sea bass fillet with a few mussels CHF 46. I can get a whole one elsewhere for that. The caprese salad is also better and cheaper. If you have a loose wallet, Casa Mia is the right place for you. Those looking for price/performance are less likely to do so.

This place should shut down forbad behaviour waiters and servers. Drinks were badly made, ordered lemonade and bought some pineapple juice. Food was okay. Restaurant staff has stolen our bag and money and had bad behaviour. Asked to keep our luggage outside despite the fact that restaurant was empty. The bald sever is worst. Very pricey with worst attitude. Never visit zermatt and especially this restaurant.

We ordered two pizzas to take away and had to wait almost 15 minutes for them after we arrived on time. In addition, both pizzas had rather lean toppings.

A very nice restaurant, the ambience fits and it feels very homely. We got the food very quickly and it was fantastic. The pizzas are world class. The service was impeccable and very pleasant. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone. Their menu has something for everyone and the price-performance ratio is perfect.

For me it is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. From the welcome, to the food, to the sweet tasting. The restaurant has a modern vintage look, great for feeling good. A very good topped pizza with delicious dough. The staff is super friendly. Everything perfect! Congratulations to this restaurant. This restaurant will definitely be on the agenda next time we visit Zermatt.

Loved everything about this restaurant. The staff is so kind and welcoming. The location and atmosphere are in the center of activity in Zermatt with both indoor and outdoor dining options. The food was so delicious. The prawns and mango salad with their house French dressing was absolutely divine!

Excellent food, nice ambience! Absolutely recommended! The only flaw was the question when ordering white wine as an aperitif and red wine with the main course as to whether the red wine could then be served in the former white wine glass or whether a new glass was desired...

Such a shame that a beautiful restaurant was ruined by one unbelievably rude waiter who was also so shameless as to intimidate me into leaving a tip at the ends. He actually stood over my should and said “Now sir if you would like to leave a tip” 13th July 2023 Shameful service !

Popular place in the center of Zermatt right by the train station and many hotels right next to it. It's probably a good idea to book here, but that applies to many restaurants in Zermatt. The waiters were pleasant both on the phone during booking and in meeting us at the restaurant. The pizzas we ordered were absolutely approved. The Swiss know pizza, obviously. However, I think that the ham had a bit thick slices, and that it tasted a bit "cheap". It could be that I had been spoiled by a lot of good food in the days before. The cheese was probably also in the same category. Overall, you still get a very good pizza. If they had chosen a better ham and perhaps parmesan instead of grana padano (or another cheese with a bit more flavor), the experience would have been even better. Got good beer to drink, and left the restaurant both full and satisfied. The food in Zermatt is so good that you start to pick at the thickness of the ham slices and shades of cheese. Recommend traveling to Zermatt and CasaMia is certainly a good choice for pizza.

Could’ve done with more beetroot cubes and French dressing Main course (5/5) Veal ragout and the Diavolo pizza (corn dough, with an extra egg and extra onions) Both dishes were very delicious, and we were very happy. For extra detail regarding the pizza, the onions were slightly cooked before being added to the pizza. This is new / not seen in other restaurants / pizzarias, and we now definitely wonder why not! Their chili oil is also putting other Italian restaurants to shame (it’s actually spicy / tastes good). Dessert (4/5) Tiramisu My partner loved it. It was a bit on the creamier side for my taste. Service (5/5) In spite of a full house, service was impeccable. Prompt and friendly but professional. In addition to the above, we had a bottle of water and a total of 3 glasses of wine.

Good food, but I got scammed when I asked for some semi sweet wine. The guy recommended a 350€ bottle, and I didn't check the price. Why would anyone recommend such an expansive wine, without even warning me? Answer to the reply: Yes, it was in Zermatt last year. It might have been just 300€, but we had dinner with 4 people, and the price of the wine was more expensive than all of our food combined.

Lots of pizza options but only got to try two of them. I wasn't disappointed!

Soup of the day we had was good, pizza was okay as the veggies on top of it weren’t perfectly cooked. They charge 7.5 for water and 6 extra for sharing pizza (never saw that), although present somewhere in small in the menu. The restaurant seems to be new and well decorated.

Good atmosphere, handmade pizza is pretty good, the fish main course is a bit perfunctory, the pasta is okay, the ingredients are a bit ordinary, so the price/performance ratio is not high. The staff are generally friendly. It's just opposite the train station.

Went there for dinner for two. We ordered pizza and pasta with shrimps and everyone had an appetizer. Price-wise, it's completely ok compared to the other restaurants in Zermatt. Would come again!

Compared to other Italian places in town CasaMia is miles in front. They manage to offer great dishes in a great ambient at normal prices. Rare find in Zermatt.

Brought me the wrong pizza, left it at the table and brought out the right one. Still charged me double for their mistake (charged me for the wrong pizza and the replacement one). Waiter was extremely rude/confrontational about this. Restaurant claims that I asked to leave the pizza. Not true. Waiter offered to leave it and did not mention up front that it would be charged. Shady practice :/

Were just there for an aperitif drink. Upon request, we received pastries for something to nibble on, which we didn't have to pay for. We do not take this for granted in Zermatt. Cool atmosphere, friendly staff.

Great place! The interior decoration is fabulous and it gives a chale vibe. The food is great - especially the pizzas. Great service and very hospitable. Been there twice every time. Make sure you book it gets really busy. The deserts are really good aswell

Great restaurant, fine pizza, great bar, successful, modern expansion with a cozy atmosphere at the same time with enough space for the neighboring table - no longer a given in Zermatt ;-) , appealing wine - also open, moderate prices, friendly service, very friendly host couple - despite it being full A house; you feel completely comfortable here! Unfortunately it was only 'discovered' this year. We'll be back👍

Average pizza, overpriced for what you get and staff are rude. Don’t waste your time or money!

Asparagus cream soup with asparagus from Randa, now in winter - respect. Duck breast with mashed celery and figs in orange sauce - huerre guat. Service was very friendly, accommodating and not intrusive, dishes were suggested for recommendation. Very chic atmosphere. No place in the evening possible without a reservation, it is possible for one person. The menu is very extensive, even for vegans there are enough dishes to choose from. That wasn't the last time this visit. Compliments to everyone, despite the restaurant being full of guests, no rush and very calm service.👍👍

Ossobuco wasn't special. Price of open wine is too expensive in relation to the quality

The pizza was good but I have never paid so much for a pizza. The rooms are beautiful and you immediately feel welcome. The octopus starter was very good Attention, it's always best to make a reservation...but we got a place at the bar. We were very happy.

I had a terrible experience at CasaMia Ristorante Pizzeria today. When I arrived and asked the receptionist, who I believe is the owner, for a table, she informed me that they were full, which I respected. However, from the moment I entered, she displayed a rude attitude towards me. I then requested two hot chocolates to go, and while she was preparing them, I remembered to ask for lactose-free milk due to our allergy. When I politely asked her about it, she rolled her eyes, huffed loudly, and showed an unpleasant attitude. I believe this behavior was due to my Arab background, and it is a clear case of racism. I'm very disappointed with this experience, and I strongly urge the management to take appropriate actions to address this unacceptable behavior towards their customers.

Great little place tucked away off the street. Great menu selection- the pizza was so good. Excellent wine selection. We were able to walk in for lunch with out a reservation! Friendly staff that takes the time to answer questions.

Really delicious pizzas with lovely fresh ingredients. Also local wine was excellent and service could not have been better, would highly recommend!
