The food is always great, tables by the window offer an incredible view of the Swiss Alps. Staff very friendly!

The sensation: Indian cuisine in a self-service restaurant - a Swiss mountain hut has finally overcome its shadow and, in addition to the usual monotony, offers excellent original Indian cuisine (including vegetarian dishes)! Highly recommended, for example the Chicken Tikka Masala. The dishes are not spicy; If necessary, you can spice up the dishes with a delicious spiciness at one of the counters.

Large terrace with a view of the Matterhorn. Simply fantastic.

Like an ordinary cantine. Rather expensive compared to the full service restaurants on the area.

The pasta were good but the pizza very average.

Lots of choices to eat, short wait at checkout, very nice and efficient staff. Lots of space around tables for helmets, gloves, etc. I still think 5.50 CHF for a glass of tap water is EXCESSIVE and NOT JUSTIFIED AT ALL.

Understaffed at peak hour in peak season. Average food extremely overpriced. To be fair, the whole Zermatt resort feels understaffed.

"Sadly" had to eat here as the crossing to Italy was closed due to weather. Staff was grumpy, food (Roesti) was average, and totally overpriced. 20CHF for "some potatoes" and 6CHF for 0.5l water are ridiculous (1l water for 3€ in Italy). And on top you have clear the table yourself (which is only worth mentioning due to the other circumstances). I recommend crossing ovber the border and pay half for better food.

Considering one of the most unique and well known spots in the world its a shame to have this hutte/building in such conditions! Literally in the same state as it was built 40+ years age with minimal upgrades. The view is amazing, the food is overpriced and absolutely below expectations. The infrastructure (toilets, eg.) are absolutely unacceptable.

The butter chicken tastes so good!!! But the price will be more expensive since it is a restaurant on the mountain. If you buy the cable car ticket to the glacier paradise, check if the cable car will be close or not. The date we visited the cable car to glacier paradise closed due to the weather condition, no refund can be made.

Rare find at a mountain restaurant: Indian menu with yummy vegetarian and vegan options!

The Golden India restaurant now offers a few dishes there. Highly recommended if you had enough fries, nuggets and rösti.

Edit: This review is for Ice buffet and NOT for the pizzeria. The pizzeria is fine. I’ve skied in several countries in Europe, across the US and Canada and this is hands down the worst food place in the mountains. The food choice and quality are just terrible (mostly sausages, zero pescatarian options, vegetarians have only potatoes and cold salad), the service is bad and the prices are 🚀

This review is for the PIZZERIA only! The staff is incredible, they are so caring and hardworking. The pizzas and pasta and tiramisu were perfect. Can’t beat the view too. We came 3 times in one week, make a reservation in advance because it gets busy.

The worst food in all of Zermatt, no doubt. Like certain restaurants or self-service restaurants in Zermatt, this one belongs to the municipality. It's just very bad and very expensive. To do ONLY if you have no other choice. (Ice Pizzeria is obviously better, especially the pizzas, the rest is average but the people are lovely).

Nice views high up. Makes food and drink at an airport seem cheap, sure it's harder to get food but here it's taken to a new level. Fresh toilets. The natural choice up here.

High altitude refuge with panoramic terrace. Possibility of lunch in a restaurant or self-service. Chance to sample Swiss cuisine, the rostli are exceptional. The prices are a little high, but we are in Switzerland and you have to take into account the currency exchange.

Ok good but some of the best views of the mountain. We enjoyed the outside seating and taking the gondola up and down here. Restrooms were very clean and nice.

Teas and hot chocolates served in small, half-empty paper cups... for an exorbitant price. It’s the machine that is programmed like this, I was told 🤣

Horrendous service and unfair treatment from initially unapologetic Italian waiters at the Pizzeria. At first we were told there were no available tables, prompting us to ask to takeaway instead. Then a lady who came after us and asked for a table was seated. After her another group who came later was seated before us. When we kicked up a fuss, the waiter said it was our fault for not speaking to him. We had spoken to his colleague instead, and the waiter in question had seen us but chose to ignore us as he walked past us numerous times. If they are too short staffed for table service they should make it a self service restaurant, instead of a BAD SERVICE restaurant. The waiter in question finally apologised and said he thought we were part of a larger group, but that is difficult to believe as we were two Asians (mother and daughter) in a sea of Europeans. The pizza is better than the usual buffet fare on the mountain.

Highly recommending ICE Pizzeria! The pizza and salad were delicious. The waiter war super friendly!! Make sure to finish with a big and delicious piece of homemade tiramisu!

Restaurant: Disgusting overpriced food and bad service. Most oily pizza I've had and a basic salmon and avocado also bad to the point of not eating.

It is located inside the Trockener Steg station, which can be accessed from Zermatt by one train without changing gondolas. There is a pizzeria and a cafeteria style buffet, where you take what you like and then pay at the end. The terrace seats have a great view of the Matterhorn, Klein Matterhorn (the pointy mountain where the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise is located), Breithorn, etc., and are sunny, so it gets crowded on sunny days. There is a shop on the first floor.

Price performance no longer fits. Portions are much smaller than in recent years but have become a lot more expensive. It doesn't suit us anymore.

Gennaro and his team are welcoming, nice and quick, the food is very good in terms of quality and price!

A tourist trap, so avoid if you can, but not the worst place to eat at if you’re desperate. Clean WC/toilets. Be wary of the buffet - I saw a woman take bread from the tray & proceed to put it back with her bare fingers. 23 CHF for a bratwurst and fries, no drink

Very delicious starter and tasty pizza with great view. Staff is super friendly. Menu available in multiple languages.

I stopped by to prevent altitude sickness before climbing to the top. After having a leisurely drink of tea, we headed to the observation deck using the free toilet, which cost 2 CHF. I didn't have any change so water cost 6CHF. We visited again for lunch on our way back from the observation deck. You will be very satisfied with the generous portion of your home-cooked meal. The staff were also smiling and soothing.

Everything worked out for us. We would like to come again

Great pasta with a magnificent view and that doesn't break the bank! Prices are not higher than your average Swiss restaurant, totally worth it for the amazing view.

We tried the Ice Buffet restaurant recently in summer 2022, where you can select the food you want from a variety that are served, and bring them to the cashier for payment. For a restaurant located at this place, the price is to be expected with the limited variety of food, but we got no complaints. There's rosti, pasta, dessert, soup, salad and drinks, and it's mainly self service. The lady preparing the rosti/salad and cashier were alright. The view itself is marvelous, so if you're looking for a simple meal with a gorgeous scenery, this restaurant meets the criteria. But if you're looking for more of a delicious meal, then it's best to wait until you're in Furi.

Cool view of the Matterhorn and the mountains around Zermatt. Aperol very fine but also my most expensive to date CHF 14.-

We have had some lovely meals in Zermatt, and in general service is excellent, even on the slopes where the food is fairly basic. However Ice was the exception. The guy serving pasta picked his nose before serving my son. Then I ordered a Rosti and he freaked out, saying he was too busy. He made so much noise that a lady appeared and made my rosti, but again not before picking her nose and handling the ham. Once cooked, the grumpy guy handed my rosti to someone else. When I challenged him on it he told me to get lost. We then tried to buy a beer, but the bartender kept disappearing. It took 15 mins to get served when we were third in the bar queue. Awful on all counts. Zermatt should be ashamed.

Self-service restaurant was actually ok. At 11:20 a.m. everything was ready for the lunch rush in nice weather. There is a large range of food on offer and attempts are made to present it beautifully. Unfortunately, the sausage with my bratwurst/fries was relatively cold. Beautiful view of the Matterhorn

Way too busy and churning out sub standard food that costs the earth. Queuing seems a foreign concept for some of the customers. I was barged into twice by staff members whilst holding my tray of food with drinks on with no apology! I got a very sub standard Rosti with bacon so burnt and overcooked it should not have been served! Pictures attached.

We reserved a table for the pizzaria. When we arrived we were told that the restaurant was closed, but that we could have a seat in the self-service restaurant. I don't find it understandable that I can reserve a table in a closed restaurant. Luckily, no one was interested in the crying, hungry, tired child. That was the last time we were there.

You can reserve a table for the pizzeria online, but when you arrive the pizzeria is closed and you are rudely directed to self-service. Very unfriendly staff. One star is one more too many.

Well prepared typical regional dishes. The blueberry pie was delicious. In addition, you can eat with a breathtaking view of the Matterhorn. 👍

ツェルマットからのゴンドラ最終駅のトロッケナー・シュテークにありますスキーシーズンのランチタイムは沢山の人で賑わい、好天の日はテラス席の方から埋まりますので、少し早めか、少し遅めに行くと良いですマッターホルンはスネガからのように北壁は見えず、東壁がほとんどなので、三角の山になってしまいますが、かなり近くで見られるので迫力はありますレストランは自分で順番に取っていくカフェテリア形式で、オーダーするとその場で作ってもらえますが、カスクートのようなサンドイッチもあります食のレベルは以前と比べると格段に向上したと思いますが、パスタだけは未だにパサパサなのでやめておいた方が良いです

Preise sind akzeptabel, jedoch muss jeder Kassenbon kontrolliert werden. Von 5 Besuchen wurde 5 x zuviel bezahlt und wir mussten 5 x Geld zurückverlangen. War schon seltsam.

Rösti ist ungeniessbar, da zu schnell und zu heiss vorgekocht. Kruste sieht gut aus, das Innere ist roh. Die Minestrone hat gefühlt 50% Zwiebeln. Der Espresso ist eher eine Sauce. Das Self Service Restaurant hat massiv abgegeben. Preis/Leistung stimmt überhaupt nicht mehr! Schade...Ice: nehmt Euch ein Beispiel auf der italienischen Seite!

The pizzeria is exceptional! They offer very classical but also creative compositions. You can also have a broad variation of other dishes. Nice interior and atmosphere inside. If weather permites you can eat outside with wonderful views to the mountains and down to Zermatt. Usually full on good wearher days. Might be worth to make a reservation with bigger groups.

Self-service with good cuisine, friendly staff but serving you for CHF 4.60 a hot ovo in a small cup like in the photo because there is no other cup, it's just shameful

Die Website sagte, sie seien offen, aber sie seien geschlossen. Hunderte von Menschen gingen zum Trockner Steg. Einige stiegen weiter auf, aber viele Menschen gingen den Gletscherweg in beide Richtungen und waren enttäuscht, als sie ihn geschlossen fanden.

氷河湖と氷河、そしてマッターホルンを望む絶景が堪能できます。天気の良い日はせめて飲み物だけでも楽しみましょう。グレーシャーパラダイスに行く途中に必ず下車することをお勧めします。

De self service bestaat uit 2 gedeeltes, een keuken met Zwitsers/Europees voedsel en een Indische keuken. Op het terras, dat bijna de ganse dag beschenen wordt door de zon, heeft men een prachtig uitzicht op o.a. de Matterhorn.Het voedsel en de drank is, net zoals op elk bergrestaurant, niet goedkoop. Zwitserland is niet voor niets het duurste land ter wereld. Maar je hebt daar een grote schoonheid op de bergen als extra bij.

The pizza was great. The staff even better people were really nice when ordering. And the best part was the view. Amazing view of the Zermatt valley. We are from Argentina and we loved it.

This new restaurant in the mountains - at the top of the Matterhorn gondola - Trockener Steg - served the most amazing pizza and delicious salad. Right by the Matterhorn and with stunning views of the highest mountain in Switzerland Monte Rosa - what more could you ask?

We know many pizzerias, but the pizza here is the best (for years!!). Definitely try it.

Einfach die beste Pizza (Margherita und Prosciutto getestet) in Zermatt: Sehr bekömmlicher und dünner Teig, hochwertiger Käse, gute Qualität der Tomaten, nicht zu üppig belegt und gewürzt, topp Schinken! Man spürt einfach die Qualität der erlesenen Zutaten. Kommen seit Jahren immer wieder gerne. Ein Highlight für Pizzaliebhaber! Congratulazione!

I went to “Ice buffet” for lunch every day during my snowboarding vacation. I loved their sausages with french fries, salad bar and selection of drinks. You can enjoy your perfect meal sitting at a table with an incredible view on the mountains.

We ate several times at the restaurant, the one with service. We have always eaten well and the service is excellent. Prices are high, but not excessive considering the location.

We had goulash soup, desert and a beer each and it was good tasting and very good service. Nice to be able to relax inside and watch the snow come down!

Food is ok, the place though is great to see the Matterhorn.

J ai déjeuné plusieurs fois au Ice Restaurant dans la station de Trocknersteg à Zermatt. La vue est magnifique, l'accueil est chaleureux, Nicola le gérant est drôle et sympatique au maximum. Les cuisiniers sont excellents tout comme leurs pizzas. Je vous recommande ce restaurant mais à ne pas confondre avec le self-service d'à côté.

We come here every time we visit Zermatt. Nicola, the master, makes every stop s pleasure to enjoy. Pizza, pasta all superb notwithstanding the altitude, a marvel. Came every time and will find again. Book to get the window side tables with breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. Well done Nicola!

Central mountain station with a large restaurant, many slopes and the option to go to the Matterhorn Glacier. Reachable from Zermatt with the Glacier Express or from Cervinia, Italy, the first mountain station in Switzerland. Recommended.

Nach einer langen Gondelfahrt gibt es nichts Schöneres als GROSSE Pizza! Das italienische Personal war gastfreundlich und der gemischte Salat ist sehr lecker! Mein Mann und ich hatten einen gemischten Salat und teilten eine Proscuitto Pizza - die perfekte Kombination mit einem unglaublichen italienischen Wein!

We ate lunch in the full service restaurant not the buffet. The pizza was good with fresh ingredients. As expected, you’re going to pay more on the mountain but this place really sticks ya... 27 CHF for a pizza. Top it off with waiters that seem annoyed and rushed and it makes for a disappointing experience. Few options and no tables in the self service area drove us to eat there.

Cela fait des années que nous venons, en famille ou avec des amis, et c'est toujours un vrai plaisir de retrouver Nicola, sa bonne humeur, son professionalisme et ses succulentes pizzas!! La carte propose d'autres mets d'une très bonne qualité. Une halte à ne pas manquer si vous êtes dans ce secteur. Et selon les tables la vue est juste magnifique. Recommendation venant d'un Italien d'origine ;-)
