We are absolutely returning here next time. This was the best pasta we've had and the desserts simply sealed the deal. The garden is lovely as well as the staff. Thank you for a great rest in the middle of our hike!

We've been to Trani in Lugano a few times and now we wanted to visit this restaurant... The service was excellent, the food was good, but we think it's better in Trani... But definitely worth a visit again.

Unfortunately we had a really bad experience. At first we had to wait an eternity to only order food, than we waited almost an hour to have it and on the top the food was bad. We had gnocchi and pasta carbonara and both were completely overcooked. I would never thought that something like that can happen in Italian part of Switzerland- that they are not able to cook pasta properly and they are not ashamed to serve this to their customers…this is such a shame as otherwise this place is nice. But the service in both - kitchen and serving is really bad. If at least the food was good, but if we haven’t been there already for one hour and half and quite hungry we wouldn’t even eat it. We shared our experience with the waiter and he was even rude to us. Avoid this place there are better places to have a lunch, you will avoid a big disappointment.

Visited March 2023 An incredible positive surprise. We came to eat here for a family celebration. The menu, the ambience, the service were all of a very high standard. Everything was set up perfectly. We received a really warm welcome and throughout the evening, no glass was left empty and no wish unfulfilled. The food, from the starter to the dessert, was delicious. The price-performance ratio was very good. The reason why this restaurant only gets 4 stars is the fact that it is in an alley and although the restaurant was empty when we arrived, the few parking spaces (3-4 maximum) were all taken, so we had to go park at another restaurant. I am convinced that if this restaurant were in the city of Zurich, with the same quality of food as well as the excellent service, the great ambience with the perfect music, people would have to book months earlier to get a table. Absolutely recommended!

Great place. Very nice atmosphere, inviting yet also classy. Great food I had the steak and my husband the carbonara. We were both very happy. I'm celiac and I had no issues with the food and they even had some shar bread for the beginning.

When restaurants that have relied heavily on the personality of the operators have new owners, there is a high chance that they will be disappointed. Not at Posta, the new operators have changed a few things, but the new style suits the restaurant well. The kitchen has a vision; the cooking here is not streamlined, but with character. Even well-known dishes have their own twist, the Cordon Bleu in particular is likely to become a classic, also because it follows its very own approach. The service was friendly, attentive, competent and effective, but I do miss the previous operators a little bit, but the new ones can't do anything about it.

Great atmosphere, Food arrived cold after an hour waiting time unfortunately

Pure excellence and impeccable service. We went as a couple last Saturday evening, on the outdoor terrace. We tasted the paccheri and a slice of local pork accompanied with steamed vegetables and balsamic vinegar. Candlelight dinner, elegant place, but with absolutely reasonable prices. Very discreet service. The art inside the venue is worth seeing. Typical cuisine of Upper Ticino with an international touch. I thank Fabio and his colleague whose name I don't remember, who with their professionalism offered us a special evening. Prices, absolutely competitive for the tourist area it represents. We will be back to taste other delicacies. Thank you

Wonderful food, lovely ambience, huge selection of wines and very friendly service

The grotto looks very good, the location is really beautiful and welcoming unlike the staff. There was no type of relationship between customer and employees. The cold cuts platter arrived without the accompaniment of bread or drinks, arriving 30 minutes later when the cured meats were almost finished. After 2 hours of waiting the dishes arrive (which absolutely did not meet expectations given the excessive prices) and despite constant requests to bring the bread it never arrived. One of us had requested the Easter menu, but the wait was so long that she stopped at the first one and had to have the second one packed and she wasn't even able to enjoy the dessert. We arrived at 1pm and left at 4pm, disappointed and still hungry.

The food was very good. Served very quickly and the waiter was very accommodating and also spoke German :)

We really liked the old Posta. The new tenant has modernized the restaurant gently and elegantly. The light is very cozy. The dishes are all plus-minus classics of Italian cuisine and come on very beautiful plates. The food is very good and the service is quick, professional and friendly. The wine cellar, where you can personally choose your wine, has been retained. Price / offer: Very good. Fortunately, Posta remains a safe bet in Carona. Definitely try it out.

Oh but!!! We ended up in this Ticino village by chance: Carona, my husband and I discovered this pretty little place... Cozy place, with great attention to detail, excellent food from the meat to the homemade first courses. The lit fireplace made the whole evening even more comfortable .Wine list very accurate in the varieties of wines to choose from. Staff very attentive to the customer, prepared and available. Just under four stars. Ev. it was the form of the day. The food looks wonderful and tastes very good, unfortunately the chef uses a little too little salt for our taste. For my main course, the vegetables and the guinea fowl roulade were fried a little too hot, so that they were unfortunately slightly “burnt”, but the meat and the filling were very delicate. The staff is very friendly… As soon as the restaurant fills up, it gets relatively loud... and unfortunately we had to wait 30 minutes from the time we tried to pay until we got the bill.

Very good restaurant with an impressive wine list. Very good choice from Ticino, Italy and France with reasonable prices. The cooked dishes are very good and the service friendly. A good portion of tartar as a starter, can be a little more seasoned, the pâtés, salami, dried meat top, the fillet very good, the guinea fowl stuffed with mushrooms excellent. In short, it's worth the detour

Very nice restaurant with a superb terrace and excellent cuisine. I'm taking one star off because we each had two dishes and the service took two hours, which seemed a bit long to me.

Really good restaurant, the menu is traditional with a modern twist. All dishes were cooked perfectly. Even though the weather did not permit us to sit in the romantic garden beneath the pergola, it was all round a lovely evening. Great food - great service - great atmosphere and surprisingly good value for money. Thanks, we are coming back.

Excellent food and service, but for 2 sparkling wines, half a liter of white and half a liter of red in a carafe I spent 80 sfr.!!! I used to have a Tignanello!

Our first impression was stunning. You enter into a nice garten. However we had to wait for 30 min to order and another 35 min before we get some food. Then we get overcooked carbonara and gnocchi, which was such a small portion. This ruined the whole experience of the beautiful garden. We would not recommend this restaurant.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice and very pleasant! The food is excellent and the prices are absolutely reasonable! The staff is also very friendly! And you can find all this in one of the most beautiful villages in Ticino, Carona! We will be very happy to return! Thank you so much!🌞

In questo angolo tranquillo sul lago di Lugano con una vista mozzafiato è stata una piacevole sorpresa trovare una realtà con standards molto alti. Dall'arredamento sapientemente coordinato tra moderno e tradizionale, alla cucina che accontenta i palati più esigenti con piatti ricercati, ma anche chi ha voglia di tradizione fino al servizio attento e cordiale. Il titolare Francesco e tutto il personale sono affabili e simpatici. Abbiamo seguito i loro consigli per i piatti e sono stati ottimi. La carta dei vini è ricca e piena di ottime proposte delle migliori cantine anche internazionali. La panna cotta con latte di capra e miele è assolutamente da provare! Ideale per un pasto romantico, ma anche tra amici o in famiglia. Non vediamo l'ora di tornarci, magari in primavera per godere lo splendido dehors.

Schmuckes Restaurant mit lokalen Gerichten zu moderaten Preisen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und schnell. Es liegt im schönen Dorf Carona über dem Luganersee. Wir können das Restaurant gut weiterempfehlen.

Dieses Restaurant ist ein Juwel. Sehr gute italienisch-tessiner Küche, sehr herzlich geführt von zwei Schwestern und dem lieben Personal. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl im wunderschönen Garten. Vor allem mitten unter Einheimischen.

Die Tische unter der Pergola hinter dem Haus sind wunderbar, speziell an heissen Tagen. Das Essen war okay aber zu kalt. Der Service war überfordert und Bestellungen und Service liessen zu wünschen übrig. Immerhin wurde den durstigen Wanderern erst mal eine Karaffe Wasser aufgetischt.

Terrible service!! We waited 10 minutes by the near empty garden restaurant for a table. Finally the dark haired female owner told us "you can sit here if you want".... it was the service table which only had one chair (we were 2) and no settings!!!! The restaurant had plenty available prepared tables!!!... we decided at this point to take our custom elsewhere! P.s we even spoke fluent Italian, ...not that this should make a difference!

Vor dem Restaurant gewartet (2 Erwachsene u. zwei Kleinkinder) um von der Gastgeberin einen Platz im (fast) leeren Gartenrestaurant zugewiesen zu bekommen. Aber die Dame hat sich lieber Zeit genommen, die Messer zu sortieren u. die Tische abzuwischen u. uns mehrfach ignoriert. Wir haben uns dann woanders die Bäuche vollgeschlagen - mit herzlicher Bedienung u. ausgezeichnetem Essen...:-)

In estate cenare sul terrazzo sotto la glicine è magico. In inverno l'atmosfera della sala è calda e accogliente. Cibo sempre ottimamente preparato e presentato. Tutto lo staff disponibile e cordiale. Una coccola da concedersi a scadenze regolari!

Wer im Tessin etwas ORIGINAL erleben will sollte dieses Restaurant auf jeden Fall besuchen. Echte Tessiner Küche, Hausgemacht. Ob selbstgemachte Ravioli oder Tortellino, Brasato con Polenta bis hin zum Rindersteak, es ist alles einfach herrlich zubereitet. Die familiäre Atmosphäre sorgt für einen gemütlichen Aufenthalt. Wer einmal da war wird immer wieder kommen. Wir freuen uns schon aufs nächstes mal.

It seems that service here is quite variable from the other comments. I was one of those customers who was basically ignored after I was placed at an old rickety table with a poorly set table place. Not sure what bias was at work here. My appreciation of food is as good as anyone else who attends a restaurant. I didn’t stay to be further insulted. Not sure what has given this eatery a Michelin star. The quality of furniture, garden maintenance and service mustn’t come into play when considering this award. A poor show for this beautiful atmospheric hilltop village.

Wonderful garden setting in a picturesque town. Our lunch was simple yet spectacular, combined with very attentive service by the owners.

Abwechslungsreiche Karte. Wir haben verschiedene Vorspeisen, primi Piatti und Hauptgänge probiert. Alles war sehr schmackhaft! Besonders zu empfehlen: Coniglio mit Polenta und Burrata mit Pepperoni und Sardellen. Zugegeben, der Service ist ein bisschen "unkonventionell" aber sehr freundlich. Wir wurden sogar an einem Nachmittag im Garten bedient, obwohl das Restaurant eigentlich geschlossen war. Wir werden dieses Restaurant definitiv wieder besuchen, wenn wir das nächste mal in der Nähe von Lugano sind.

Wir wollten ein Glas Wein trinken und uns für den Folge-Abend einen Tisch reservieren. Leider wurden wir vom gesamten Personal ignoriert. Der Garten war nicht übervoll besetzt. So gut kann man nicht kochen um mit solch schlechtem Personal (inkl. Chefin) zu überleben.

Insalatina di spinaci con scaglie di grana, ravioloni di fonduta con uno sbrisin di trifola e vermicelles servito in una tazzina di caffè. Tutto ottimo e servito col cuore in un ambiente accogliente e casalingo. Bravi, ci torno!

Tolles Restaurant. Wir hatten Zeit und bemüten uns mit dem wenigen Italienisch das wir konnten. Es wurde us mit sympatischer Bedienung gedankt.

Simply the best choice if you're around

Das Essen war wirklich gut. Das Tiramisù war richtig lecker. Die Location war schön und gemütlich. Service war miserabel!!!!! wir mussten 70min. auf unser Antipasto warten. Andere Gäste, welche nach uns kamen, wurden zuerst bedient. Die Kellnerinnen waren frech und zeigten null Verständnis. Dessertkarten und Kaffee wurden nicht angeboten. Wir waren 3 Stunden in diesem Restaurant....2 Stunden davon mussten wir nur warten!! Restaurant war nicht überfüllt und wir sassen direkt am Eingang und wurden trotzdem übersehen. Andere Gäste haben sich für uns schon eingesetzt!! Alleine für die Rechnung mussten wir 20min warten! Schlussendlich kam eine Köchin und brachte uns inmerhalb von 1min die Rechnung! Wir waren äusserst enttäuscht und wütend! Für unsere Wartezeit wurden wir nicht entschädigt... Es ist schwierig den Service zu berwerten, wenn es keinen gibt. Trinkgeld gab es natürlich nicht!

Essen gut, aber wenig. Bei den Preisen hatte ich gehofft satt zu weden.Bedienung so lala, recht unaufmerksam.
