A restaurant with a beautiful view from the terrace. Very nice service. The cook welcomed us. I recommend the regional Merlot wine. The food is tasty. Like homemade. It is worth trying the regional dishes from the menu.

Most amazing fresh artichokes salad…cannot say much about anything else, as the salad was all that we tried. This salad alone was worth a visit! And the terrace!

The restaurant is also open in winter and offers a terrace with beautiful views of the lake and mountains. We are very satisfied with the range of food and the quality. That's why we go there often. The service with Italian charm and the chefs in the kitchen warmly welcome you.

I had already been to this place for a special occasion and I wanted to return out of affection. Unfortunately this time I was alone and when I asked if I could sit at a table facing the lake or if it was reserved I was told that it was not reserved, but that those tables were only for two people and that for one person there were either the smaller tables small or those in the second row. Since small tables were no longer available, ironically, I had to sit in the second row, at a large table identical (both with 4 chairs) to the one I had asked for (the couple who arrived 10 minutes after me would therefore have been able to comfortably sit at mine place, I wouldn't have sacrificed any covers). In addition to the fact that a little later 2 tables facing the lake became free and then remained empty (after all, it is December, midweek). I can imagine that the waiters are just following directions and it's not their fault, but I still found it very inelegant as a business choice.

Perfect location by the lake, friendly staff (open to Italian learners 😄) and really delicious food prepared with love. The lunch menu is very rich!

Gandria is so pretty, and there are a few restaurant options in the tiny, lakeside village. We went here because they had a risotto that didn't require a minimum two-person order. I had a lake trout. The waiter, who has likely been working there for years, was very kind and accomodating - when I realized we'd be longer than the 1-hour I put in the parking meter (don't come by car, it's not so convenient - most people come by boat from Lugano), I asked for some change from him for the meter before our food came out, made a dash for it, and in the meantime he had kept my fish in the oven so it'd be warm when I got back. Top-notch service.

Excellent place for lunch after spending a day in Gandria and taking a bath nearby or having walked from Lugano. Totally recommended. We have been here 3 times already. We hope they keep the level!

Spaghetti with lobster cost €26, but in reality there was only the shell on top, and lots of lobster mixed with tomato sauce. Risotto with mushrooms was very tasty, I recommend it.

We came here by accident and we are pleased. The service was very nice. The food was served quickly and I really enjoyed it. It was expensive, but the view of the lake from the terrace and the atmosphere made the bill not so painful.

The charm of this restaurant lies primarily in its good location and the beautiful view. Both the staff and the quality of the food can't quite keep up. Somehow understandable, given the masses of tourists that are passed through here. I rounded up to 4 stars because the selection of food and drinks was right for me and the children were still perceived as children.

Four of us and a child made reservations. There were still spaces available. The service is friendly, calm. But we had to ask three times for some olive oil. There wasn't enough sauce in the mixed salad. The Ticino polenta with porcini mushrooms was excellent. We were happy about the farewell greeting from the kitchen. The ambience on the terrace with a view of the lake is excellent. Little selection of vegetarian dishes and no really vegan ones. The consistently warm kitchen is customer-friendly. Overall authentic and I would happily recommend the place.

If you like to wait a long time for your food and then get the wrong one, then you've come to the right place. I had to wait over 50 minutes and when it finally arrived it was also wrong. Mistakes happen and they are allowed to happen, but then you should at least apologize and not just ignore them. Of course, the bill came with what I ordered but didn't get. At least they changed that then.

We ate at this restaurant once for 4 people. We had to wait for over 2 hours until we were served by a very unfriendly waiter. there is no need to search.

As soon as you enter you are warmly welcomed by the manager of the house. The attentive waiter then leads us to the terrace facing the lake. The lasagne is of first quality, and the tartare that follows tastes great too. And the Brancino also ends with risotto.

We were so pleased to find they serve food after 3pm. The staff were very welcoming and the food was excellent. My husband had rabbit and I had lobster. Both were cooked to perfection. We had a beautiful view of the lake. Would definitely recommend.

We couldn't go there, we had too little time, not long enough in Lugano. But I went there 3 times for dinner. Delicious pretty seen in pretty face Gandria near Lugano by boat preferably.

Great view of the lake ; coming from Lugano you can arrive by boat ( wich is beautiful trip!😍) Very simpatic and efficient staff , and the food was very good. Menu with a reduced number of typical ticinese plates ,but good food . Pasta, rabbit and forelle very tastefull . Faire prices.Recomended!

The Ritorante Antico is located directly on Lake Lugano in Gandria. It offers warm cuisine all day long and is rustic but lovingly furnished. The prices for the food are absolutely within the normal range and the food is freshly prepared, tasty and attractively decorated. The service is quick and friendly. The view of the lake is fantastic. There are typical Italian dishes, e.g. B. also rabbits.

We were served very nicely and ate very well even as vegetarians. The portions were large and taking away leftovers was no problem. We'd love to come back!

We had a lovely relaxing morning. We came across this at opening time after a long walk. Not having yet had breakfast we went the selection of meats cheeses bread and coffees. It was perfect with the view. A little more expensive but worth it for the view and the extra cost it must taken to service this little spot. Loved it!

Want to be serious as the "time" you will spend here is...remarkable. Polenta with porcini mushrooms to die for, delicious pizzas, and above all a breathtaking view if you are lucky enough to arrive in time for lunch or dinner on the terrace overlooking Lake Lugano. Eating here in summer is one of the things that will warm your heart in the middle of winter.

We didn't really feel welcome. Ambience on the terrace, well. The view is of course great, but you can tell that it's just being processed. Some are coming again. They don't have to earn their guests. 24 francs for a Vitello 0815 and then served with sad slices of bread that were probably already on another table. Four thin half slices were served for 2 people, hoping it would be enough. Clear for us! We won't go there again... What a shame for the money... It was confirmed as a rip-off when three days later we were served a special class Vitello at the Ristorante Vicania for exactly the same amount of money!!!

Catastrophic, third-class canteen food, mass processing, it couldn't be more loveless, quality at the lowest level. Lousy green salad piled high with ready-made sauce, the pasta splashed dry onto the plate, the polenta indefinable and showered with canned mushrooms. The waiter first mistakenly brought our salad to another table. After a guest was already picking at the salad, he took the plates away and then just wanted to put them on our table. When clearing away the waiter puts the cheese bowl on bread etc. A disaster in terms of hygiene and service, it's pure mass processing. There were 4 people sitting at the table next door, all of them complaining about the food that was served... It's even forbidden to play cards, as the guests would then probably consume too little, etc. All I'm saying is, stay away from this place

Beautiful terrace and friendly staff. I took perch fillets and it's the first time I've eaten well-cooked and soft fillets in Ticino. Nets probably not from the lake unfortunately. The lasagna is served in a dish that says it's homemade. With Morcotte, Gandria is one of those small lakeside villages whose visit is recommended.
