Very nice place, nice owners, prices a little high but it's in the resort.

We eat very well there and if there is sunshine the terrace is great

The chalet is really pretty and has a good, cozy atmosphere. The fondue was ok but nothing exceptional. The desserts were not great: the double cream did not seem to be real double cream (was very light almost like whipped cream), the tiramisu did not seem to be homemade, not too good. The homemade fruit tart was not a slice of tart as we imagined but a small tartlet with supermarket style dough with fresh mortals inside. Not bad but really not at all what we expect for a mountain chalet!!!!

Typical chalet-restaurant, on the heights of the village, "lost" in the middle of the pastures. Idyllic setting, both inside and out. We ate the boletus and champagne fondue, and a tiramisu for dessert, everything was excellent. A fire roared in the wood stove. Discreet but friendly service provided by Pady, the boss. On the menu, typical dishes and some Chinese specialties, Ellen, the owner, knows her way around! Leaving the restaurant, 3 minutes on foot, exceptional view of Lake Geneva for a digestive walk. I highly recommend and return every time with great pleasure.

Great place, very good food Warm welcome, pleasant peace, total change of scenery from the city. The birds sing and a little breeze tickles your face. To see a magical view go up approx 100 meters and you will be blown away. I wish you to see the peace and magic of our beautiful Switzerland.

Alpine chalet with panoramic terrace. Chinese fondue prepared by a Chinese chef, resulting in a very varied assortment of mushrooms, shrimp, meat and pasta. All this in a very friendly atmosphere. Great discovery 👍

At the bend of your path... the time to appreciate and eat, we had the impression that time was suspended... the welcome is generous both by the owners and their animals. See you soon...

Very warm welcome in a magnificent setting

I had heard that there was a cheese fondue shop in a mountain hut called Prafandaz that was quite delicious, but I was disappointed that it was closed and I couldn't try it there. It was an observation deck in the middle of a hiking course with nothing else around. However, the view is spectacular, and you can see from Lake Geneva to Evian in France, and on a clear day with good visibility, you can even see Chamonix and Mont Blanc.

The boletus crusts are to die for 😋

Idyllic setting. Warm welcome and helpful staff. Large choice of drinks. Nice card. Specialties like fondues and planchettes. Be careful to go up to the restaurant you must be equipped with chains, especially for the last part. Personally I was able to do it with good snow tires.

Very good food and very good service. We really appreciated the quality of the food and the friendliness of the place.

We enjoyed a delicious shallot fondue this Monday, October 18, 2021 on the terrace with magnificent sunshine. Very welcoming owner and staff. To recommend.

Small fondue, which I share with a friend: 25+25!!!!! (50.-) Small board with 5 slices of finely cut cheese, 4 slices of smoked ham and 5 slices of dried meat as thin as the slices of cheese, three pickles + cold tea + small bottle of water + open 5dl wine:, In all 100. - !!!100 Chf !!!! I don't understand why it's so expensive...and above all that we're made to pay so much for a fondue for two...and not that interesting in terms of taste.

A splendid view, indeed. A pretty nice card, if a little predictable. A somewhat approximate service. Already 10 minutes before having the menus (it is 8:30 p.m.), then the white wine, lukewarm, then the dishes are served. Rather good but not exceptional, however you have to wait, to restock your bread, or to get the dessert options, you have to go to the dining room yourself, the same goes for the bill. Despite the storm outside, I think that with the two tables remaining occupied, the service could have been much more attentive and efficient.

Nice restaurant with a few parking spaces in front, hiking enthusiasts can stop there for a drink on the large terrace. Good work ambiance. We took a nice little platter for 4 adults, 2 children, salad and very good sauce, shrimp and rice, very good, cheese crust, egg and bacon, very good, cordon bleu, very average (hard) and wine good but a cheap! Overall we had a great time! Thank you for the welcome.

Dishes with local ingredients, nice relaxed atmosphere. Very kids friendly.

It is closed Sunday evening, Monday and Tuesday. However, there are self-service drinks.

Wonderful hospitality, and a great place for fondue and wine after a lovely hike.

The portions are getting thinner and the apple pie should be crispy if it was stale. Lack of care at reception. It's a leitmotif in Switzerland unfortunately. We could be so much better served, we need it more than ever!

A large terrace, relaxation in the sun until the last rays, delicious platter with the Swiss No. 1 boutefas, a Vaudois specialty from Titi, local butcher. 😋

Beautiful place, breathtaking view of the Alps. Large terrace. Heartwarming welcome. Local dishes (fondue, cordon bleu) and an originality: the owner's delicious Dim Sum (Chinese specialty).

Warm service, very good food and very well located terrace! It's worth the climb which will whet your appetite 😃 Don't forget to call to reserve and ask what's on the menu beforehand (the offer is reduced during Covid times).

Very good, a little wait to be served

I remember this magnificent place where we regularly went to enjoy a Swiss fondue. It happened in the ’60s during our vacation in Leysin. At that time there were still a few sanatoriums in Leysin which had been transformed into hotels for tourists. Leysin was already a renowned resort. Nostalgia when you hold us !

I just ate a plate but the atmosphere, what you feel as soon as you enter and the welcome, it's worth it. It’s magnificent and if you’re in the area don’t hesitate to go there.

Wonderful views and beautiful hiking trails

Price performance ratio is not OKEY. Long waiting times for the food. It's a shame that the only ingredients are hash browns. 300 m away there is a wonderful view of Lake Geneva.

Le chalet de Prafandaz propose une très belle carte de mets divers et la patronne, Chinoise, peut aussi vous proposer des spécialités de son pays et en plus elle est très accueillante et sympa, nous avons très bien manger et passer une très belle journée sur la terrasse et les alentoursEn bonus, 200 à 300 mètres plus loin du Chalet, vous pouvez apprécier un joli plateau avec une vue magnifique sur le lac Léman et les belles montagnes

Tout ce qu’on peut attendre d’un restaurant d’alpage à 2 pas de Leysin ! Très bon accueil, cadre chaleureux et délicieuse cuisine de la région.

Wenn Sie nach einem authentischen chinesischen Fondue (Hot Pot) suchen, ist dies der richtige Ort! Das Essen und der Service waren großartig in einer wirklich schönen Umgebung. Wir haben dort auch ein Käsefondue gegessen, das hervorragend war, wir können das Hotel nur wärmstens empfehlen.

Very charming, beautiful place to have something to eat. A few minutes' walk from the spot where there is a beautiful view of Lake Geneva. That is also a great picnic spot with benches and even an (old) BBQ.

Nous y sommes aller le 1er août à midi. Au vu du Coronavirus nous avons réservé une jolie table sur la terrasse. Très bon accueil avec du personnel très sympathique et disponible. Après une planchette apéro très bien servie, nous avons mangé de copieuses croûte au fromage: délicieuses. Nous n'avions du coup plus de place pour un dessert. Le café et son digestif nous on été aimablement offert. Avec la canicule cette endroit de fraîcheur est recommandable.

Plat simple mais bon. Pas d'attente. Prix un peu élevé à rapport aux autres restaurants que nous avons pu faire pendant ce week-end.

C'est l'endroit idéal pour déguster un plat typique suisse ou une planchette-apéro en altitude, en toute simplicité. Ne recherchez pas de la grande gastronomie mais plutôt du rustique et des produits locaux. Service à la bonne franquette tout à fait en accord avec le lieu. Belle vue depuis leur terrasse.Pour les bons marcheurs la promenade est tout à fait envisageable depuis Leysin, pour les moins courageux il est possible de parquer la voiture juste devant le restaurant, après une montée très raide. Pensez à réserver.

Joli chalet sur les hauts de Leysin. Carte variée avec des produits de la région.Le patron et le personnel sont sympathiques. Un peu d’attente avant d’être servi mais il faut en profiter pour prendre le temps d’admirer la vue depuis la terrasse en cas de beau temps.

Restaurant typique, service agréable, mets suisses avec des produits locaux. Seul petit bémol sur les plats qui mettent un peu de temps à arriver. Restaurant à recommander !

It's the perfect stop Winter or Summer. Unfortunately today due to a blizzard the menu was restricted otherwise it could have been graded higher.

Nice place, owner spoke French and English. Chocolate praf is really good, hot chocolate with whipped cream and shot of fruit spirit. Close by is a beautiful viewing point on geneva lake.

Situé sur la randonnée raquettes N°1 de Leysin, ce chalet d'alpage offre une belle récompense en fin de parcours, proche d'une magnifique point de vue sur le Léman. Excellent accueil, carte traditionnelle de ce type d'établissement avec fondues, assiettes Vaudoises, meringues double crème, mais aussi déserts maison comme cette excellente tarte aux pommes dégustée hier, accompagnée de vin chaud, chocolats chauds, etc.... Ambiance très chaleureuse. Nous recommandons en pause déjeuner, goûter, ou dîner !

Petit chalet typique, patron et personnel tres accueillants et vraiment sympathique.La nourriture est excellente, J avoue que je ne pensais pas autant bien mange vu le côté restaurant d "alpage".Bravo en cuisine.. Je reviendrai avec certitude.

Neue Besitzer, toller Anfang! Restaurant mit einer tollen Terrasse, wo Sie wie zu Hause essen können. Die Zukunft hält einige Überraschungen wie chinesische Spezialitäten bereit. Ich hatte die Dim Sums (chinesische Raviolis) und die chinesischen Garnelen: sehr, sehr gut, danke!

Accueil chaleureux et cuisine soignée dans ce restaurant de charme. Le patron et sa femme sauront répondre à vos exigences et combler vos papilles. Accessible aussi en voiture avec un panorama époustouflant à 5 minutes à pied accessible pour tout le monde en 5 minutes. Un incontournable de la station.
