Relais Des Reines in Vex

We went to the Relais des Reines one lunchtime and we were extremely disappointed with this restaurant which, however, looked very good on paper. When we arrived, a waitress laughed in our face for a reason that is still unknown to us today. We order unlimited raclette. After a few portions, we were told, without the slightest apology, that there was no more cheese. Reason: weekly closure of the restaurant the next day and they did not want to start a new cheese (cheese which was good, but not exceptional). Throughout the service, the staff was terrible. After serving us a few times, the waitress looked blasé and told us that there was almost no cheese left each time we asked for a new portion, even though we had taken the all-you-can-eat formula. As we left, the manager gave us a curt “goodbye” without turning her head in our direction. We weren't allowed a single smile during the entire meal. We strongly advise against this address which clearly has no sense of service. There are other much more welcoming restaurants in the area.

Following our stay in Switzerland, we wanted a restaurant to really taste something typical of the country, frankly really not at all, we got what we paid for! , I really recommend, pleasant and warm atmosphere

Go there in large numbers, ultra fast and attentive service, quality cuisine, and not expensive given the quality and the location.

I went there on Wednesday January 31 for the first and last time.

The patrons and staff are very friendly and attentive. The menu is diverse and regional. The food was very tasty and the prices were absolutely right

The woman was very unfriendly and couldn't speak English :/ the food wasn't good either because I didn't get what I expected.

Last day, so to speak, in French Switzerland, tomorrow we return to Milan... a starter salad and very tender beef (also to be eaten raw) or seared, and three homemade sauces. A place to return

Second time I've been here and the food is delicious! It's always full so it's better to book! Besides, we feel when we arrive that if you haven't reserved we don't really like you... But the place, the food and the view are magnificent!

Ambience OK Service is a disaster, German-speaking Swiss don't seem to be welcome

We arrived with a group from German-speaking Switzerland. We wanted to eat ice cream there, but unfortunately the waitress said there wasn't any. See photo there would have been. It's a shame, they probably don't need it.

We have been to this beautiful place several times, but we will not return again. We wanted to start with a starter that we wanted to share between 2 (on the menu: 3 pieces of octopus for CHF 19.-) The waitress offered to make 2 half plates directly, which we accepted. We received 1 piece each (not 1 and 1/2). When we added the bill, we were charged CHF 38.-!!! No way to get correction from the waitress, nor from the boss. Unbelievable, but unfortunately true.

Fondue artisanal... superb discovery with excellent Johannisberg.

If I could, I would have given this establishment a whole constellation! Ultra friendly service from local people! Relaxed atmosphere, succulent cuisine and a beautiful view! The garden is super neat! The snails are to die for and the meat, how can I put it? A supreme excitement for the taste buds! We will come back to this! Well done!

It's one of my favorite places. Typical and local cuisine with sometimes extras. We go there to have an aperitif, dinner or dinner. The view is incredible.

Not recommended! We invited our family to discover this restaurant, we will never set foot there again! The waitresses are not at all helpful, unpleasant, and rude to customers! Such a shame for a restaurant with such a magnificent view and such good dishes. We ate well but we were deeply disappointed with the welcome…

Severely overpriced food. We got roast beef and potatoes (which looked like sandwich meat) for €30. And a mostly mustard salad for another €30. The view was nice, but we ended up spending €75 and left hungry.

Called during the day on Saturday to see what time they were serving dinner from so they told us 5:30 and upon arrival, they said they were fully booked. Failed to tell us that on the phone.

We arrived without booking even though the restaurant was already very busy they found a place for us. The two ladies worked hard to serve everyone quickly. The next time I pass through Sion I will certainly go to them...but I will reserve in advance

A gem for meet lovers. Here you can find meats from the famed cattle of la race d'Herens. You also have a panoramic view of the town of Sion and the surrounding mountains. A nice wine list to go with it all and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

We were made to feel very welcome! Tip-top fondue and remarkable burger. It’s a shame that the view of the Rhône plain and its peaks is not exploited.

We regularly go to the Relais des Reines to eat a raclette with friends for August 1st on the occasion of our national holiday! We have never been disappointed!!! The products are local and of excellent quality, it’s a treat. The restaurant is also very well located on the side of the road with plenty of parking spaces, with a magnificent view. The interior is chalet style and very warm, there is a large terrace in a good location. All the staff are friendly and smiling, as well as very professional. The boss welcomes you with a smile, he is adorable, very kind and very attentive, really very nice, we would not like to see restaurant owners like him more often. If you are passing through the region and stop at the Relais des Reines, you will not be disappointed, I promise!

I like this authentic eatery placed on a shelf high above the city of Sion in Wallis. The owner also raises the famous black val d'Herens cattle used for combat but I do not know if the meat he serves originates from his animals. Nevertheless, besides eating well you can also study a very interesting book on these animals and their owners while digesting your meal over an after dinner drink...

A real Valais raclette in this authentic and warm setting, an absolute treat!

As always, a very nice place with very good value for money. The raclette is very well served with a tasting of 4 excellent Alpine cheeses. I highly recommend. The only downside, the very beautiful view of Sion from the terrace spoiled by the recent installation of a high voltage line.

Beautiful terrace and magnificent view above Sion...🌈 It is 4:40 p.m. and the kitchen of the place where I am located closes at 5 p.m.... A tourist couple arrives and orders two Valais plates which are on the small afternoon menu...😋 We take their order but 5' later we tell them that the kitchen is already closed 😔 The worst thing here is that the person serving returns to sit down with regular customers right in front of this tourist couple 🍻 Some restaurateurs should stop crying because with a service like this, you don't come back twice 😤😡

A good address if it was not served by a prison door, a passive-aggressive comment by interaction. My dish was collected while I was chatting without asking if I had finished, I didn't even notice that I hadn't finished at all, we were clearly sent off.

A dreamy smell of local cheese. Typical local restaurant of the area. Unfortunately they were full at midday and we only got one white and had to go elsewhere. But I will definitely return

After a moment of hesitation and even a closure following the retirement of Jean Claude, Stéphane and his wife took over the Relay! Passionate about Queens, he will make you have an excellent time around traditional products. 6 stars! 😉
